In the corner of a dimly lit room with only yellow light. Showing two little girls with almost identical faces, sitting cowering in fear as their hands and feet oozed fresh blood, due to a rope that was tightly entangled. Even the white dresses worn by both of them were now stained with blood.
The square room that looked worn out and unkempt, looked completely closed like a warehouse with several large boxes and wooden beams on several sides. There were several small windows near the ceiling of the building, looking small but enough for the sun to slip in the light. Just like an abandoned building.
"Sis, I want to go home," His little sister complained.
"It hurts, hiks hiks," She even whimpered in pain.
"Shhhh, don't cry, just hold on a bit. We'll be home soon. Father and mother will definitely pick us up."
The hissing voice was trying to calm her sister to remain silent. Even though she herself felt the same way - equally afraid, enduring the pain and pain from the rope that made her wrists hurt. The desire was the same, to get out of this dark place as soon as possible.
Beside her, the little girl nodded. Afterward, she let out a long breath for her chest that rose and fell irregularly. Regulating the rushing of her breath, which had become ragged from crying too much.
But instead of giving her relief to breathe, her fear made the little girl sob even more. She sat hugging her knees and cupped her face down, just to hide the sound that she could not cover with her palms, even though they were tightly bound from the front.
But to no avail, his efforts failed. Her hiccups could be heard outside the room. Disturbing the peace of a woman who was busy looking for a way to end her life.
Immediately, her eyes ran to the door ten footsteps away from where she was sitting. Her breathing was ragged, with a glare full of emotion.
With a hardened jaw, the woman got up while quickly grabbing the scissors on the table. Then, she swung her legs towards a dark room with a tightly closed door.
The high heels she wore created a regular sound that echoed along the dimly-lit hallway, each beat sounding intimidatingly threatening.
The woman in the fiery red satin dress widened her footsteps even more, making the two girls inside even more frightened with her body trembling violently and her heart beating even louder. They were too scared to even move, as if their safety was on the verge of death.
"Sis."
"Shhhh."
Ngueeekkk.. krekkk.. kreekk...
Within seconds the creaking sound of the building's door managed to send chills down the spine. A moment later, a woman appeared from behind the door with a hardened jaw and an agitated look on her face.
There was a soft gasp from both girls. But they immediately fell silent as they dragged their bodies closer to each other, to protect each other.
The cubby-cheeked little girl gripped the hem of her dress firmly, her face tightening. Her breathing was labored, rising and falling irregularly due to the great fear surrounding her. Even her temples were already damp with cold sweat.
Not much different from her brother who had the same fear. However, as much as possible she held back the tears that had gathered on her eyelids with a choked breath, so as not to make her little sister even more panicked when she saw a raw grin that was so scary rising on the woman's face.
"Honey, good girl," she said softly as she crouched down in front of the girl while dropping the scissors beside her. Then in the next second, her palm and delicate fingers rose up to caress the jaw of the little girl before her.
"Accompany me out of this world, child. So you don't have to waste these precious tears anymore," The gaunt-faced woman rubbed the cheeks of the cubby girl who was flooded with tears. But there was no answer, instead her behavior made the girl tremble even more while holding back her sobs.
"Don't bully my sister."
The ultimatum of a big girl with cold sweat and trembling body attracted the attention of the woman who was smiling in front of her sister. However, it looked so frightening.
A loud laughter then rang out in the room, but a moment later the woman's face instantly turned sinister. Her gaze was wide, and intimidating.
Her face slowly approached. Then without warning the woman pushed the big girl so hard that she slammed into the wall making both of them scream and groan.
"Arhhhh I hate children like you!!! Insubordinate!!! I'll let you live so you can taste the bitterness of the world. Hahaha," In contrast, after the woman screamed like a monster then she laughed without any sense of sin. Like a person with a mental disorder, ignoring the fact that the two girls in the room were terrified with tears falling down their cheeks.
"Sister."
The little girl's hysterical cries again attracted the woman's attention to turn her head with a sharp gaze.
But it did not interest the little girl to stop crying, instead her sobs grew louder ignoring the head shake a meaningful code from the Big Sister to tell her to stop crying immediately. Because, the elder sister knew that her crying would only make the woman even angrier.
"Arrghh damn kid," she shouted angrily. She quickly grabbed the scissors lying on the floor. And immediately slashed the girl's stomach repeatedly.
"NAIRA."
The girl screamed as both eyelids opened quickly. Her beautiful irises stared wide-eyed at the high ceiling of her room. Her chest also rose and fell along with the rush of her breath and the cold sweat soaking her temples.
Again, the dream of the abduction haunted her every time she closed her eyes. Now in a dark room with only the glow of a bed lamp, Nara sobbed. Her heart ached every time she remembered the incident.
Nine years had passed, but she never forgot the image of Naira's bloodied body during that time.
Nara pressed on her solar plexus which suddenly felt painful as her tears continued to fall down her cheeks in droves. I don't know what time it was, Nara didn't care. She just wanted to get rid of the pain that was stabbing her heart right now. Despite the fact that the pain never went away and was imprinted with her helplessness.
Her puffy eyes stared out onto the balcony through the thinly curtained window. Faintly, the sky outside was still pitch black without a single star or moon.
From upstairs in her room, the sound of the main gate creaking could be heard faintly from outside the room. Shortly followed by the roar of a car that sounded farther and farther away. Nara was sure it was Haris Father who was going out of town on business.
