Chapter 29 - A familiar stranger 3

Tangero listened intently as Ares explained the situation to him. He couldn't believe that he was having a conversation with a god of war, and yet here he was. Ares continued, "The problem is, the other gods don't like me very much. They don't appreciate my sense of humor, my... shall we say, direct approach to conflict. So they've been trying to get rid of me for a while now."

Truth chimed in, "And that's where you come in, Tangero. We need you to go to the last world that has a shrine in Ares' name. It's the only way we can keep ares from dying ."

Tangero was still processing everything. "Wait, so you want me to go to another world? How am I supposed to do that?"

Ares smirked, "Ah, that's the easy part.

Truth explained to Tangero that gods do not die in the traditional sense, but rather their power is derived from worship at their shrines. Ares' bad reputation has caused people to stop worshiping him, except for one world, where his shrine still receives some offerings. Dynamo (world) Aresia(location)".

Ares chimed in, "And that's the world we need you to go to, Tangero. We need you to go to that shrine, in aresia .

Ares informed Tangero that he would be reincarnated as a baby, but would still have memories of his past life. Tangero asked the important question: "Why me, I'm just a librarian?"

Ares chuckled and responded, "Don't underestimate yourself, Tangero. You possess a rare quality that many lack. You have the ability to lead and inspire others, even in the face of danger. We need someone like you to accomplish our mission."

Tangero was taken aback by Ares' words. He had never thought of himself as a leader before.

Ares leaned forward, his eyes intense. "I need you to find and activate the shrines in the other world. This will restore my power and give me a fighting chance against the other gods."

Ares chuckled and said, "You don't remember me, do you? I met you before on the train station. I gave you some advice and told you my name. "Mars!"

Tangero's eyes widened in surprise as he suddenly remembered the man he had met on the train station. "Mars? That was you?" he exclaimed.

Ares nodded. "Yes, that was me. I knew then that you were the right person for this job."

Tangero was still in shock. "But why did you tell me your name was Mars?"

Ares smirked. "Well, it's one of my many names. And I thought it would be fun to mess with you a little bit."

Tangero shook his head, amused despite himself. "You gods are always so cryptic."

Ares laughed. "We have to keep things interesting somehow, don't we?"

Tangero couldn't help but smile. Even in the afterlife, this god of war was still full of surprises.

Tangero listened attentively as Ares explained his plan. Ares needed Tangero's help to regain the belief of his followers. The last world called "Dunamis" was where Ares' shrine was located. Tangero was expected to go to this world and become an influential figure in the weak country of Aresia. Ares believed that if Tangero could bring glory to Ares' name once again, his followers would believe in him once more. It was a daunting task, but Tangero was up for the challenge. He knew that he had to honor the memory of his uncle, who had taught him everything he knew about being a warrior. With Ares and Truth's guidance, Tangero was ready to embark on this new journey.

As Tangero listened to Ares' plan, he realized the gravity of the situation. Ares explained that he needed Tangero to become a great warrior and lead his followers to victory in battles, thereby regaining their faith in him. Tangero knew that this task would not be easy, especially with Athena and her followers standing in his way. However, he felt a sense of duty to help Ares and agreed to take on the mission.

Ares also revealed that he had been watching over Tangero, even before their meeting on the train station. He had been waiting for the right moment to approach him and offer him this task. Tangero was surprised to learn that the strange man he had met on the train station was actually Ares in disguise.

As Tangero contemplated his new fate, he couldn't help but feel nervous and unsure. He was just a librarian, after all, with no combat experience or knowledge of the world beyond his own.

Ares was whispering to Truth in a comical way, "Wait, I don't think I picked a host!" Truth shouted back in a comical manner, "What do you mean you forgot?! You can't just leave him stranded here!" Tangero overheard their conversation and was starting to feel unsure about his fate.
