The thing about a fight among common people is that they only get a broken bone or a bruise that they wine about for days upon days. They exaggerate their wounds to make it a big deal, and then there are those sheep's that listen to them. Then there are those who don't care about such trivial things. Some of them are the strong ones or are weak enough to keep their heads down to live peacefully.
I, by nature, was weak and would never have kept my head down. I was as what some people called a rare jewel. Am I egoistic? Yes. Extremely. Then again, those with strength are a bit egoistic. Before my first leap, I would never have been able to win against anyone, but I got the power, I lived, I died, I lived again, I fought back, I learnt and I thrived. I built my own gang just to protect what I hold dear.
Back to the topic of common people, the skilled ones are a stark contrast to the common ones. The skilled don't exhibit strength unless necessary. They only strike when needed. Such was the case with Ryusei Sato. Ryusei Sato was trained in kickboxing, a deadly sport in its own right. Deadly when mastered, but not so when there was only an adept level of knowledge in the field. Ryusei did not have much training into the depths of Kickboxing, but what he lacked in skill he made up for in strength and speed. His moves were limited to calf kick, roundhouse, split kick, and punches.
As he kept giving out more of his moves as he kept launching a barrage of kicks and punches, I kept dodging and blocking. I kept track of all his moves before I launched my attacks. The attack pattern was getting easier to track as he made his moves.
To the side, Chifuyu was getting anxious, hoping I wouldn't die against Ryusei. Kojiro was ecstatic in the hopes that he got a new target in the form of yours truly.
This was the perfect time to launch my offensive.
I pulled his incoming left fist with my left hand and kept a tight grip on it, and started to twist his hand. His right leg flew in only for me to return his calf kick with a faster and higher aimed calf kick of my own targeted at the location right below his knee cap. He pulled his arm out of my grip, and before he could retaliate, I started to lay into him, laying punch after punch, not letting up.
I was confident in victory until I remembered it was too easy.
I was proven right when I was hit in the head with a brute force. A force only brought by a rod. Something Kojiro Hishi was known for.
I stumbled backward, my vision clouded by my flowing blood. I fell to my knee.
Kojiro smirked at me, "Beat us both, and Yotsuya Kaidan is yours."
Chifuyu knelt next to me, "Takemichi, Mitsuya is a few minutes out. We have to -"
I cut him off, "Did I ask? No. Watch."
I stood back up wobbly and stepped forward.
Rysuei grimaced as I wiped off the blood. "You could give up, now you know? We could go on as though nothing happened."
I replied, "It will all be for nothing then. This is for Baji."
His eyes widened as he dropped his guard.
I drew my left leg back and bent into a crouch, hands crossed in front of me.
Kojiro Hishi, 6 meters away, Critical Points: Throat, Shoulder.
Ryusei Sato, 8 meters away, Critical Points: Throat, Chest and arms.
I needed them viable, Ryusei mostly. Point still stands.
I leaned forward and tightened my leg muscles, pushed with all my might, and hit the target points
CQC, or Close Quarters Combat. A form of combat taught to all special operations agents, a sort of last resort. But my teacher, Hayao Satoshi, was a retired operative who worked in an infiltration specialist. He taught me the method of Target Strike, a skill under CQC.
Now, Kojiro stumbled back with a bleeding shoulder and clenched his throat, thankfully not bleeding.
Rysuei, he stumbled forwards clasping his hit shoulder.
He turned to look at me, and I looked back.
Both of us were injured. My head was probably broken. His left arm was probably broken, along with bruises. I didn't regret pp for the fact that he won't be able to fight against Valhalla.
I walked slowly, he watched me in anticipation, I stepped until I was half a meter away.
I qas quick to land two consecutive blows. One on his face, an the other on his shoulder.
He fell to his knees and fell forwards only for Kojiro to catch him.
Kojiro cradled his head, "We will honor our word. Yotsuya Kaidan is yours."
I nodded in return. I walked towards Chifuyu.
I sat down near where he was still kneeling, I looked at him and smiled cockily, "Sixth Division Captain wins. Let's wait for Mitsuya. Lunch is on me."
A while later, Ryusei came to, and he held a bleeding shoulder and bruised cheek. He looked at me and smiled sort of cheerfully (As cheerfully as you can when you have a injured shoulder and face) He walked towards me sat down on the wall next to me, Kojiro followed him.
Rysuei asked, "What now?"
I looked at him, tried to stand up, and failed, I looked to him and extended my hand, "I'm Takemichi Hanagaki, Captain of 6th Divison of Toman."
He shook my hand, "I'm Ryusei Sato, member of 6th Divison."
Kojiro followed Ryusei's lead, "I'm Kojiro Hishi, member Toman 6th Divison."
Chifuyu followed, "Chifuyu Matsuno, Vice-Captain of Toman 1st Division."
Ryusei smiled innocently, "Yeah, we know, dumbass."
Chifuyu was easy to trigger as he showed time and time and again, this time too, "Who the hell do you think you are calling a dumbass, dumbass?!"
He continued onto a long tirade that took him another two minutes.
I sighed, "Look, Ryusei, I need your help. We need to bring Baji back to Toman. You just have to help me convince him. Please?"
He peered at me from under his bangs, "I heard about that. Baji and Kazutora joining Valhalla. I'm curious. What should I do, though? I cut ties with Baji long ago."
I just smiled back, "Like I said, you just have to hel
p me, I'll do the rest."
He just looked confused and handed me his phone, "Whatever, save your number in it."
I did so, Kojiro stood up while supporting Ryusei after he took his phone back. Kojiro smiled sinisterly, "I'll see you around, boss."
I just nodded back. I threw my head backward only to smash it onto the wall. I left up in a cry, "That hurt, goddamnit!"
Chifuyu started laughing, and I cried back at him, "Shut up! It hurts!"
He continued laughing, "I don't understand. You get hit by a pipe, and you dont shed a tear, but you can't handle the pain from a bump. Your something else, Takemichi."
