Chapter 508 - Revelation

After that Nick left the office feeling much better about the situation than he did going into it. Sure he knew that it was still going to be a stressful next few weeks as the news got out and everyone showed their reactions. But with such huge influences backing him Nick knew he would weather the storm just fine. Even more Nick didn't feel like he really needed to worry about the order of the golden sands anymore after reaching tier four. It needed to be understood that he held the full knowledge of Salazar Slytherins library as well as all the information and skills Nick had personally researched at his fingertips.-

It would not be a stretch of the imagination to say he could likely fight Voldemort or Dumbledore to a standstill or at least close to one without any tricks or exploits. With those however he figured that he might even be able to defeat them or at least force them to flee. There was one major problem however that he had to deal with in the form of the upper limit of power that the world could support. Even now Nick could feel the discomfort that his body had in the low mana environment of the world.-

At the moment it was just a very mild discomfort not unlike a headache but spread throughout his full body. While his new mana system and tier had caused his mana growth rate to drop in speed to the average level a third year would experience it was still dangerously fast for a tier four. In fact Nick figured he had at most a year and a half before he reached the peak of tier four and his tier exceeded it naturally without him increasing his power actively at all.-

This was to say that if Grindelwald doesn't complete his ritual within that time Nick very well might have to hole up on the island just to survive. The mere idea was uncomfortable for Nick to even consider so one could easily imagine how bad it would be to actually experience. 'Thankfully I still have things I need to do before this becomes a real problem.' Nick thought as he walked through the hallways ignoring the stares he was getting. Soon enough he reached the workshop and entered it but left the door open.-

This was intentional as Nick knew that as word spread around the castle like wildfire more and more people will seek him out to see if it was true. None of the students will likely be able to figure out why Nick gives them such a funny feeling but the professors would probably be the opposite. Each and every professor in the school was either an expert in their own right or had the high qualifications needed to teach here even in the case of the DADA position. One had to remember that if you looked at each of the professors for the position in the canon timeline they each had their own set of circumstances that made them appear capable of teaching , even the idiot Lockhart.-

This meant that even when desperately looking for people to take the position Dumbledore still required a certain level of perceived competence. In Lockhart's case he appeared to have ample experience in dealing with the dark arts and creatures considered dark even if it turned out to be false in the end. In Lupins case however the man was not only a werewolf but had fought against the death eaters and Voldemorts over a decade ago and had been keeping an eye on other werewolf packs for Dumbledore until he was hired for the DADA position.-

To Nicks surprise however the first professor to come to him wasn't any of the usual suspects like Flitwick and Mcgonagall but rather Snape. "So you have finally taken that step as well it seems." the man said with what looked to be approval on his face. "You changed your race as well?" Nick asked stunned to not have noticed it at all. "Indeed , however unlike yours my own transformation could barely be considered a very large one as I merely changed myself to be closer to the art of potioneering , a variant form of humanity if you'd like." Snape said calmly.-

Nick thought about it and could admit that it would likely be such a minor change that it would barely even register in his magical senses. "Dumbledore did mention that it was considered a fairly expected thing for wizards of a certain level to change their race but I hadn't even considered any of the professors to have done so." Nick admitted honestly.
