Chapter 401 - Business

"It's not like you could use the stuff to begin with so I imagine it's not a problem at all." Nick said without denying it. "That is indeed mostly true , however in any future creations it would be for the best if the way the effects are accomplished is explained as well to prevent any misunderstandings. For now though Jesseph you can put the ring back on as it's safe." Vlad said and Jesseph wasted no time at all slipping the ring back on his finger. "So are we going to just stand around here discussing business or is there a room for this sort of thing?" Nick asked Jesseph calmly.-

As it turned out there was in fact a room meant for exactly that that was plain minus a few chairs and a table. Nick and Lucas sat on one side of the table while Vlad , Jesseph and Mina were on the opposite side. It was actually funny how Vlad found his daughter and captured her the moment she peeked her head out of the rafters. Mina Tepes could be considered fairly attractive as she had long blonde hair and nearly perfect proportions in both her face and body.-

Her eyes though were a shining red and her skin seemed unnaturally pale even though it was her actual skin tone if Vlad was to be believed. The funny part came in with how she was like a child after getting in trouble as she didn't dare disobey Vlad. Jesseph was mortified to learn that she was in his home without him being aware and apologized quite a lot to Vlad for it. Sitting side by side Nick was surprised to learn that in terms of raw power Mina actually dwarfed her father by a wide margin.-

She wasn't fifth tier or anything like that but she was teetering on the edge of it while Vlad was right on the lower end of the fourth tier. 'Natural born royal vampires must be crazy talented , that or she's been drinking heavily mana rich blood for a long time.' Nick thought while waiting for the other side to start the discussion. "Before we speak of future business I believe it prudent to address the matter of your subordinate here being a royal vampire not of our clan." Vlad said sternly.-

"It was bound to happen eventually that a new royal line was created however you have brought forth this inevitability before hand , have you anything to say on this?" Vlad asked firmly. "I honestly don't see the issue with his new status. He won't be turning many people if any as he will mostly be working for me. The only real sore point I can find is that your clan is no longer the only royals but as you have just said that was an inevitability to begin with." Nick said calmly. "Be that as it may it might create a rift in the vampire community should his status be revealed which is unacceptable." Vlad stated seriously.-

Nick just shook his head "Lucas basically no longer is a part of the greater vampire community , he has no place there so long as he works for me and you know it. A good attempt to squeeze more benefits from me though." he said with a grin. "I had doubted my old friend when he spoke of you but it seems I shouldn't have , you've passed this test child." Vlad said instantly relaxing as if the whole conversation prior was an act. "Ah so that was why Flammel twitched slightly when he spoke of the royal clan." Nick said enlightened.-

"It would seem you have spoken with him a bit more recently than I , I take it he showed concern over your subordinates situation?" Vlad asked and Nick nodded. "His caution is well warranted from my understanding as you tend to get a bit shall we say aggressive if someone looks to be edging in on your territory." Nick said honestly. "That is true but this situation is a bit different because as you have said your subordinate will not be trying to take power while in your employ. Enough about that , shall we discuss this business opportunity?" Vlad asked choosing to change the subject.-

"As I told Jesseph my offer is quite simple really. I sell directly to the royal family my equipment made to order and in exchange you help me acquire things that I need without jacking up the price." Nick said seriously. "We want a yearly quota of at least one ring for free as our side requires more effort than yours." Vlad said seriously. "Also you need to become a vampire." Mina spoke up and Nick frowned at her words.
