Chapter 397 - Hospitality

"If it is no trouble perhaps you could stay for a couple days while we wait for his highness to arrive?" Jesseph offered in a friendly manner. "That's fine , though I do hope to be subjected to these hungry gazes a little less if possible. Makes me slightly nervous you understand." Nick said and Jesseph grinned showing off his long canines. "You heard him ladies , control yourselves while they are here." he spoke authoritatively and Nick immediately felt the amount of gazes on him drop but not vanish. There was one gaze still on him in the room but it didn't belong to a person but rather a bat hanging from the rafters.-

Nicks magical senses zeroed in on this creature and he felt a headache develop at what he found. That bat had a dense magical signature that clearly didn't match the body it was in letting him figure out quickly what or rather WHO it was. Mina Tepes or the bloody princess was apparently spying on Jesseph and had definitely heard the entire conversation. Nick made no motions to show that he had discovered her though as he wanted nothing to do with her and refused to initiate contact.-

Jesseph stood up "If you would please follow me I can show you to the guest accommodations." he said before walking to the right side of the throne that held a stone door that looked almost like decoration if it didn't have gaps. The door had a stylized image of a scarab beetle holding up a flaming orb. Nick recognized this as an Egyptian symbol that represented the god of the sun , Ra. 'I wonder if all mythology was based on the same gods just at different periods?' He wondered while trying to figure out whether or not that would even work.-

Surprisingly enough the more he thought of the various myths he could recall he discovered that the gods do indeed seem to share an uncomfortably high amount of similarities. 'The titles are all mixed up but the general personalities match up fairly well.' He thought and decided he should look into some other myths about the end of the gods reign to see if he could find the seals of Zeus and Hephaestus. Nick chose to ignore Hestia though since from what he understood of her she won't be taking part in the conflict to come and thus deserved neither his help or harm.-

Perhaps it was a bit cruel to treat her like that but Nick didn't have time or resources to waste on neutral parties just to play nice. Anyways Nick assumed that the reason the door was marked in this manner was because these rooms were meant for those that walked in the sun freely. He was proven correct when Jesseph stopped outside of a room that had a skylight that allowed sunlight to enter. The room was just as luxurious as the rest of the building with four large silk sheeted beds and various expensive looking decorations.-

The room had a clear "sun" theme though as most everything was a warm golden yellow or orange. "This is the sun room of the building that I created specifically for wizards like yourself. Your ... I beg your pardon but what is his status in regards to you?" Jesseph asked awkwardly after introducing the room. "Subordinate or assistant , whichever you prefer." Nick explained honestly. "Right well your subordinate can take the moon room next to this one since like myself he should be less than favorable to sunlight." Jesseph said while pointing at the open room next to the sun room.-

"There is no need for multiple rooms on his account , I solved that problem shortly after he entered my employ." Nick said calmly and Jesseph was taken back but looked intrigued after the information fully registered. "Very well then , I will have dinner served at seven at night and Brunch at eleven in the morning. Please feel free to make yourselves comfortable in the meantime." Jesseph said with a friendly smile. Nick nodded and walked into the room and scanned it with his magical senses and wasn't surprised to find several spying enchantments all over the room.-

Jesseph left after that and Lucas immediately spoke up "He is a lot nicer than I was expecting. I always assumed that the royals were these old and callus beings that looked down on everyone else." he said while sighing as he sat down on a soft arm chair. "You don't live long if you can't play nice with others in a social position such as his , nobody likes a tyrant after all. That said most of his niceness was fabricated to make us drop our guard , takes a sharp eye to spot but the signs are all there." Nick said while sitting on another chair casually.
