Chapter 258 - Attack and rage

The ritual circle lit up and Nick felt the changes take place in his body as the acromantula heart slowly turned to ash. It was a strange tingling at first before turning into a intense burning as all of his nerves grew more perfect and connected increasing his perception of the world drastically. He passed out directly when the changes to his brain began to accommodate this sudden increase in reaction time. He woke up when the changes stopped five minutes later and immediately felt the difference. It was a bit like moving in slow motion as he perceived the world around him but his body couldn't move at the same speed he was perceiving it.-

The disconnect wasn't huge but definitely noticeable like each of his actions were just a moment after his thoughts. 'This is going to take me awhile to get used to.' he thought as he left the room which reset it entirely erasing any trace of his ritual. Once out of the sealed environment of the room of requirements Nick felt the biggest difference from before the ritual. He could literally feel the air currents around him despite how subtle they are and it bothered him greatly.-

'So this must be what spiders feel all the time , no wonder they can react so fast.' he thought as he felt the gentle air flow around him moving in a manner not unlike that of flowing water. Or at the very least that's what it felt like to him at the moment. Thanks to the improved connection between his neurons Nick also thought faster than before son he had these thoughts within mere moments rather than a few seconds. It was thanks to this that when his ears heard the sound of rustling robes and he felt the airflow change he was beginning to move to take out his wand and block the attack.-

"OBLIVIATE!" a certain male voice spoke but even when the malicious intentioned spell came from the assailants wand Nick was already dropping down and and turning to dodge it as well as get into position to counter. The green spell flew past Nick's right side harmlessly and he pointed his wand at a well dressed man with a rapidly morphing facial expression from glee to horror. "PETRIFICUS TOTALUS!" Nick spoke angrily and the petrification charm shot out of the tip of his wand in a blinding fashion as he overcharged it in his rage.-

While he was protected from the effect of the obliviate charm thanks to his occlumency and Sanar it didn't change the fact that Lockhart had just tried to erase his memories. Why the man was even on the seventh floor at all was totally irrelevant at this point and it was only Celebrimbor's voice in his head stopping him from blasting the bastard into literal pieces. It would be oh so easy just to use a blasting curse or even an overpowered splitting charm to reduce the man to a red smear on the walls.-

Nick didn't do that however but rather paralyzed the man and waved his wand to strip the wand out of his hand. Walking over to Lockhart he directly kicked the mans legs out from under him before tapping the ground causing a stone horse to come out of it with the man draped across it's back. All the professors and Nick's friends knew something was wrong as the weather rapidly shifted from sunny to near hurricane in no time at all. Nick was absolutely livid and his magical ability was running out of control instinctively.-

Everyone felt an intense pressure weighing down on them before the sound of horse hooves showed up. The first professor to track down the source of the disturbance was Dumbledore thanks to his own sensitivity to magic and connection to the castle wards. He had a stern expression as he recognized the look in Nick's eyes all too well as one of near mind consuming wrath. He had had that same look the day that his heritage was revealed to the world and it suddenly made sense why the weather had turned so violent.-

It was magic similar to that of a thunderbirds but far more potent due to not having any finesse at all behind it but pure emotion and not a good one. Nick saw Dumbledore and pressed his wand against his forehead before flicking the memory of the event at the old man and leaving as Dumbledore let it sink into his head. He left Lockhart behind to be dealt with by Dumbledore as he still had enough reason left to know he needed to leave before he caved in and killed the man.
