Chapter 2 - The New Mr. Choi

After marrying Mrs. Choi, Mr. Lee was known throughout society as the new Mr. Choi. He often heard people say how lucky he was to have married her. "You must be lucky that you were able to get such a catch," they say, but those words didn't exactly sit well with him. While others saw Mr. Lee getting to marry Ms. Choi like finding a box of treasures, Mr. Lee never really felt the same.

Mr. Lee had always dreamed of becoming a hero. Although his power was ordinary, he worked tirelessly to gain entry into the prestigious hero program. Coming from an unprivileged background, where his family lived paycheck to paycheck. His decision to pursue a risky career that only pays well if you're one of the best was making his future uncertain .To achieve his goal, he left his mother behind, working various part time jobs to pay for tuition fees.

It was during his time at the hero program that he first met Ms. Choi. She was known for her grace and strength, coming from a renowned family that fully funded her education. Her power was extraordinary, and she was admired by everyone. With her contagious laughter and bubbly spirit, she was a model student who succeeded in everything she does.

Approaching her seemed impossible for Mr. Lee. She was always surrounded by the wealthy and famous students, while he was merely a student who had barely entered into the program through wait-list. In the social hierarchy, he was at the very bottom.

But fate had other plans. It wasn't Mr. Lee who made the first move. It was Ms. Choi. She had noticed him as an attractive but quiet student who never stopped striving toward his goals. So one day during training, she walked up to him and asked, "Would you like to be friends?"

Mr. Lee was surprised. The unapproachable Ms. Choi had chosen to talk to him. Over the months that followed, their friendship blossomed into something deeper. They became lovers, sharing their dreams and goals.Together, they trained tirelessly, and Mr. Lee saw firsthand just how incredible her power was.

Yet, as their relationship continued, Mr. Lee's feelings about Ms.Choi soon grew into jealousy. While Ms. Choi's love for him was genuine, his feelings grew complicated, after slowly comparing himself to her. He resented her privileged upbringing and the power she had been born with, which contrasted with his own struggles.

As graduation approached, tragedy struck. Mr. Lee was seriously injured in a battle with a notorious villain, resulting in the loss of his powers. Ms. Choi stayed by his side throughout his recovery, never once leaving. But the more time he spent with her, the more he resented her for everything she had that he did not.

Despite his personal feelings, Mr. Lee stayed with her, eventually taking a position within the Choi family's corporation. It was here that he met Irene, an upcoming artist at the Choi Entertainment Corporation. Irene wasn't famous or wealthy, but she had the same determination he once had. Mr. Lee admired her for that so much so that admiration turned into something more.

The affair began, even as Mrs. Choi carried their child. The situation grew more complicated when Irene became pregnant. Mr. Lee, now living a secret life, kept the existence of his affair and new family under the wraps for years. He believed that the truth would never come to light.

But, suspicious of her husband's whereabouts, Mrs. Choi eventually confronted him. Mr. Lee could now no longer hide the truth. To his surprise, Mrs. Choi "forgave" him, allowing him and his mistress's family to live under the same roof, entering them into the Choi family business.

Years passed, and as Mrs. Choi's health quickly declined, she made a final will which was released after her death. "Only true bloodlines of the Choi family could inherit the corporation." This meant her five children, now adults, and their descendants.

Irene was outraged. She had spent years believing that her children would have a piece in the family empire, only to learn that they had nothing. All the work done throughout the years were at the end for nothing leaving her with no actual accomplishments in life.

With nothing left to fight for, Mr. Lee and Irene were left with nothing but regret in their old age. Mr. Lee, burdened by the choices he had made, died with the weight of his guilt.

In the end, it was Mrs. Choi's children who inherited the corporation. They vowed to honor their mother's legacy and work towards creating a better society.
