Puck watched as a woman in a glittery red dress and matching bunny mask appeared on stage in a puff of smoke.
The audience gave a small applause before being silenced by the woman tapping the stage mic.
"Hello? Testing? Yes, welcome to this week's annual artifact auction! As you know, I am the head mistress of this auction! You may call by Mrs. Hare!" She exclaims, gaining a round of soft laughter from the crowd.
After her short introduction the auction soon began. There were a few interesting items on display, and a few that made Puck's jaw drop in awe.
Including a beautiful black katana with a red dragon pattern on the blade....
Puck actually thought about bidding on it for a moment, but the numbers that began to be thrown about nearly made him go into cardiac arrest!
Hell! Even Leo bid on a few expensive monster materials!
Leo smirked up in amused at Puck's embarrassed look. He could immediately tell what he was thinking.
"Don't even worry about it, bud. You should actually get used to this. Your item's up next. Don't worry, they're all just people like you. Just with a bit more money is all. You're not out of your league....yet anyway." Leo whispered reassuringly to his new partner.
His words seemed to do the trick though, immediately reminding Puck the promise he made to himself.
So, after swallowing the lump in his throat, Puck straighted his posture and took a deep calming breath before nodding in understanding.
Leo couldn't help but smile brightly at this, a weird feeling of pride overwhelming him as he stood up a bit taller as well.
"Now our next item up should appeal to all those mage oriented awakeners in the audience! All those who dream of one day becoming a powerful necromancer themselves like the one and only Jean le Arc! The 4th ranked mage in the world!" The woman exclaims as a table covered in a red cloth was wheeled in behind her.
"Damn! She sure is hyping this up...." Puck thought to himself nervously with a small gulp.
Even though he was incredibly nervous, he couldn't help but sit on the edge of his seet, watching with anticipation as the woman on stage tore of the red cloth covering his-
BOOOOOOM!!!
Puck and half the audience was knocked off their feet as an unbelievably large explosion shook the auction house.
One of the employees came bursting through the doors to the side of the stage. "SOME UNKNOWN PEOPLE HAVE BURST THROUGH THE BACK OF THE AUCTION HOUSE!" He exclaimed, getting a round of shocked gasps from the audience.
"W-What?! Who'd be stupid enough to attack an auction being controlled by the Awakener Bureau?!" Puck exclaimed to himself as he slowly got to his feet.
His thoughts seemed to be shared by the woman on stage known as 'Mrs. Hate'. "W-What?! That's impossible! We have two high ranking awakeners guarding all entrances and exits! Plus this place is under constant surveillance by the Awakener's Bureau! There's no way someone would be stupid enough t-" She was cut off mid sentence as another earth shaking explosion happened directly on stage, throwing her high into the air.
Puck, seeing this, immediately threw himself from his balcony seat and easily caught her unconscious body, but the momentum from the explosion carried both of them into the wall.
Luckily Puck was quick enough to summon one of his daggers to stop their descent towards the ground.
The impact seemed to knock Puck out for a moment however, for as soon as he looked up he was already on the ground with his weapon and Mrs. Hare laying on the ground beside him.
He looks up from his position to the sight of the auction house being in a state of complete chaos.
People's bodies were thrown about from the explosion that originated from the stage, but luckily no one seemed to be too heavily injured.
He slowly tried to get to his feet, only to wince as a bit of blood ran from his forehead down his cheek.
His hands instinctively went to his head to feel the warm sensation of blood flowing from his temple.
He couldn't help but curse under his breath. "Just what kind of fucking attack was that?! My health must be under half right now!" He hissed in pain, not even noticing that he was talking out loud.
Just as he finally got his thoughts together and leaned down to pick up his dagger, a system notification popped up in from of his eyes.
~A dark entity is trying to devour your current location! Immediate relocation is recommended!~
"Dark entity?" As Puck thought this, the sound of the stage mic being tapped filled the area.
The noise could be heard over the sounds of chaos, getting the attention of everyone still conscious.
"Testing! Oh! Holy shut it still works!" A rather rude and immature exclaimed with a small snicker. "Hello, spoiled and rich people of the Awakener's Bureau! We...."
The dust in the stage cleared to reveal a large number of men wearing black cloaks, hiding their bodies from view.
They also wore what seemed to be black, demonic looking, goat masks. They seemed hollow and lifeless as they stood there behind what could only be described as a kid in his early teens, who was currently speaking into the mic.
The kid could only be described as plain strange. He had two horns coming out of his forehead that curled up over top a mop of pitch black hair.
He was wearing what could only be described as a black historic polish school uniform with a small black mask only covering his nose and eyes from view.
His attire was complete with a black cape that was flowing behind his back.
What was truly odd about him though, was the fact that he floated off the ground by some unknown force!
"What?! A awakened?! At that young of an age?! And what's with those guys behind him?! They all seemed dangerous!" Puck exclaimed to himself, beginning to sweat slightly.
It wasn't that strange for people to awaken at a early age, but the dangerous and murderous aura that could be seen coming off the mysterious intruders....
Especially off the kid himself....
That's what put Puck on edge.
"We're...." The kid spoke up again, spreading out his arms in a grand display. "The Agents of Anarchy! And I'm the mighty leader! Diablo!"
Puck wanted to laugh and scoff at the the kid's antics, but the fact that all the members of this so called "agency" stomped the ground and slammed their fists against their hearts in a salute....
Did nothing but solidify the fact that they were completely serious.
Puck scanned what was left of the conscious audience, and was shocked to find that all the awakeners that were up were visibly shaking!
"You can't be fucking serious!" Puck can't help but curse up a storm at his current situation.
It seemed like, just when he thought he was finally having a normal day as an awakener....
Shit like this happens!
