The midday sun was starting to ascend in the sky as he made his way to his next destination. The route to Winry's house was a familiar one, but it was usually taken during the late evening, not midday. However, today's schedule was a tad different - it was Winry who'd set up the date, and Orion wasn't one to decline a lady's request.
Pulling up in front of her house, he noticed the new addition in her driveway. The sleek outline of a classic car skeleton that, although worn with age, exuded a timeless charm. He could already picture Winry working her magic on it, and the thought made his heart flutter in excitement.
Winry was waiting for him at the door, a beaming smile on her face as she led him to her workshop. The scent of oil and metal filled his nostrils as he walked in, a sharp contrast to the tranquil forest he'd left behind.
"Don't just stand there, Orion," she admonished, her hands on her hips as she regarded him with a playful smirk. "We've got work to do."
He smirked back, rolling up his sleeves. "Show me the ropes, boss," he responded, his eyes glinting with mirth.
"Not with those clothes," Winry winked, handing Orion a set of coveralls tailored to his size. He took them without hesitation and began undressing right there in the workshop, unabashed and confident. After all, Winry was his girlfriend, and he never shied away from a challenge.
Winry tried to keep her composure, but the rising blush on her cheeks betrayed her. Orion's sudden striptease had caught her off guard. Her gaze traced the lines of his muscular frame, each ripple and curve setting her heart aflutter. His confidence was one of the things she admired most about him, even when it left her blushing and stammering.
After a while, Orion slipped into the provided attire, his movements fluid and effortless. He looked every bit the part of a seasoned mechanic, despite being a rookie in the field. Winry couldn't help but feel a surge of pride. She approached him, her fingers brushing over the fabric that encased his broad shoulders.
"Ready to get your hands dirty?" she asked, her tone playful.
Orion looked down at her, his eyes twinkling with mirth. "I was born ready, boss."
The workshop hummed with activity as they set to work. Winry introduced Orion to the various tools, explaining their functions with practiced ease. She watched as he took in the information, his focus unwavering, his keen eyes absorbing every detail.
"Hand me the wrench," Winry requested, her hands greased and busy beneath the hood of the classic car. Orion complied, his fingers brushing against hers as he passed her the tool. The contact was brief, electric, causing a spark to shoot up her arm.
"Careful, boss," Orion murmured, his voice low and teasing. His eyes danced with amusement, making her cheeks warm.
The sun climbed higher in the sky as they worked, the air growing warm. Their bodies moved in rhythm, a well-choreographed dance of shared responsibilities. It was a beautiful sight, the two of them lost in their work, their faces flushed from the heat and exertion. Their laughter echoed through the workshop, a sweet symphony that added to the melody of the bustling machinery.
Winry's heart pounded in her chest as she glanced at Orion. He was bent over the car, his shirt clinging to his back, revealing the contours of his muscles. His hair was slick with sweat, a few loose strands falling across his forehead. He was breathtaking, and she wondered how she'd gotten so lucky.
After several hours of joint labor, they took a step back to admire their handiwork. The car was still in pieces, the restoration far from complete. It was raw, a testament to the labor they had put into it. But the initial progress was undeniable, the promise of future splendor shone through the vehicle's still rough exterior. As they wiped the grime and sweat from their faces, their eyes met, sharing a moment of collective pride.
Orion let his gaze wander from the car to Winry, her figure silhouetted against the bright afternoon sun. She was a sight to behold. Her once neat coveralls were smudged with oil and dirt, her hair tied up in a messy bun, a few stray strands framing her flushed face. Her hands, roughened by a day of labor, were greasy, holding a rag to wipe away the sweat trickling down her brow. And yet, to Orion, she had never looked more beautiful.
Orion moved quietly behind her, wrapping his arms around her waist, and pressing his chest against her back. She tensed, the unexpected contact catching her off guard. But she relaxed as she recognized the familiar warmth, a small smile playing on her lips.
"O-Orion, don't... I'm sweaty," she stuttered, her voice barely above a whisper.
"All I smell is hard work and beauty," he murmured into her ear, his warm breath sending a shiver down her spine. He further buried his nose into her skin, inhaling deeply, causing her to blush harder.
His words left her speechless, her heart pounding in her chest. She could feel his heartbeat against her back, its rhythm syncing with hers. The unexpected intimacy left her breathless, her mind replaying his words over and over again.
"Let's get you cleaned up," Orion said suggestively, his arms still wrapped tightly around Winry's waist.
"D-do you mean?" Winry gulped, feeling the warmth of his body seeping into hers.
"Let's not waste water. Sharing a shower is a good way to save water right?" Orion murmured into her ear, his voice low and teasing. A smirk played on his lips as he nuzzled her neck, his breath causing her to shiver.
Winry blushed, the heat rushing to her cheeks. She was still flustered from their earlier exchange. His words, as well as his actions, left her heart fluttering and her mind a whirlpool of emotions.
She looked over her shoulder, meeting his intense gaze. His eyes were full of mirth, a playful sparkle dancing within them. The corners of his mouth twitched, the smirk never leaving his face.
"O-Orion..." she began, her voice wavering. "You... you can't be serious."
He chuckled, his chest vibrating against her back. "Who says I'm not? Remember, two can play this game."
