The ring of the bell signaled the end of the memorable biology class, and Orion was soon swept up in a crowd of chattering students, making their way to the next session: Theater, led by the ever-charismatic Boa Hancock.
Striding alongside his close companions, Orion took in the lively atmosphere. Vivi and Tatsumaki were arguing in hushed whispers about some line in the play, Hinata was quietly rehearsing her lines under her breath, Winry was talking to Luna about some costume adjustments, and Yachiru was bouncing around, creating her own little whirlwind of chaos. His sisters, Aurora and Luna, were sharing a private joke, their laughter ringing in his ears like a sweet melody.
Upon entering the theater room, the group was greeted by Hancock's signature sultry smile. "Good day, students. I hope you're all prepared for another session of passion and drama."
Orion could almost hear the collective swoon of the class at Hancock's words. He stifled a smile and took his place at the center of the stage, ready to rehearse the iconic tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. The jealous gazes from the class didn't go unnoticed as he took Hinata's hand, their roles as Romeo and Juliet casting them into the spotlight.
"Alright, Orion, Hinata, let's begin from Act 2, Scene 2, the balcony scene," Hancock instructed, her gaze stern and focused. "Remember, this scene is all about longing, yearning, and desire."
As Orion recited the familiar lines, "But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun," he couldn't help but notice how closely the words echoed his real-life feelings for Hinata. The love in Romeo's words, the passion in his tone, everything was a mirror to his own emotions.
Caught in the moment, he glanced at Hinata, noticing the way her cheeks blushed under his gaze. Hinata, shy but determined, delivered her lines with a tenderness that sent ripples through the room. Her voice, barely a whisper, her words full of yearning, filled the room with a profound sense of longing.
Hancock, her sharp eyes assessing the pair's performance, nodded her approval. "Good job, both of you. Now, let's move on to the most famous part of this scene – the kiss. Remember, it's not just a kiss. It's an expression of their deep longing and love for each other."
Hinata, her cheeks glowing a shade of pink that contrasted her hair, beamed at the prospect. Orion, true to his character, merely gave a knowing smile. After all, what was a play without a little real-life drama?
Leaning in, Orion took in Hinata's scent, a mix of cinnamon and vanilla that always reminded him of a warm spring day. His heart thudded in his chest, matching the rhythm of hers as their lips met in a soft, gentle kiss. The room fell silent, all eyes on the pair as they shared a quiet, intimate moment on the stage.
Pulling back, they were greeted with applause and more than a few envious glances. Yet, Hancock was not satisfied. "That was... good," she began, her tone indicating she meant otherwise. "But, Hinata, I need to see more passion. Love should burn, it should consume. It shouldn't be just a light peck. It should be a deep, longing kiss, full of desire."
Hinata, her face blushing furiously, nodded and met Orion's gaze. There was a flicker of determination in her eyes, a hint of the fiery passion Hancock wanted to see. Orion found himself mirroring her resolve, the challenge silently accepted.
This time when they kissed, Hinata surprised him. She was more assertive, her lips pressing against his with more force. It was different but not unwelcome. The change in pace sparked something inside Orion, a warmth that started at the pit of his stomach and spread throughout his body.
Yet, even this display of affection was not enough for Hancock. Shaking her head, she stood from her seat and approached them. "It's still lacking that... spark. Let me demonstrate."
Hinata, not used to the limelight, stammered protectively, "P-Professor, you demonstrated last week. I... I think I get it."
Hancock merely smiled, a dangerous gleam in her eyes, like a panther ready to pounce on its prey. "Ah, but this is my duty as your instructor. Let me show you one more time. You clearly lack in passion, my dear."
Orion watched the exchange, an amused smile playing on his lips. He leaned back, arms crossed over his chest, taking in the spectacle. He couldn't deny the tiny surge of anticipation that bubbled within him.
Hancock stepped closer to Orion, her gaze locked with Hinata's. The entire class held their breath, their eyes darting between the two women and Orion, awaiting the inevitable.
"As your teacher, it's my job to guide you," Hancock began, her voice low and intimate as she turned towards Orion. "You have to feel the passion, let it consume you."
Before anyone could react, she leaned in and kissed Orion, her lips brushing against his in a bold move that sent a wave of murmurs rippling through the class. Her eyes, however, were locked with Hinata's, the triumph in them clear as day.
Orion didn't pull back. He met her kiss with equal fervor, leaning into it, showing no signs of embarrassment or discomfort. It was a scene straight out of a drama, the kiss becoming the epicenter of a storm of whispers and gasps.
"Kiss her like you've never kissed before, Orion," Hancock purred, her hand lingering on Orion's arm as she pulled away from him. The corner of his lips tugged into an amused smirk, his gaze shifting from Hancock to Hinata. The typically shy girl was staring at him, a fire in her eyes that he had rarely seen before.
Hancock had played her cards, trying to make Hinata jealous, to make her retreat in her shyness. But, Orion knew Hinata better. She was shy, yes, but she was also strong. And if there was one thing she hated, it was being underestimated.
"Hinata," Orion called, his voice resounding through the silent room.
Hinata blinked at him, a faint blush dusting her cheeks, her lips parting in a small 'o' of surprise. She stammered out, "Y-Yes?"
"You heard Hancock, didn't you?" he questioned, a glint of mischief in his eyes. "She thinks you lack in passion."
Hinata nodded, her blush deepening at his words, but she did not retreat. She met his gaze, determination flickering in her eyes. "I heard her," she confirmed, her voice barely above a whisper.
