The following morning, the pre-dawn light found Orion slipping out of the house before his sisters even stirred in their sleep. He was not exactly hiding, yet he couldn't help but feel a certain apprehension in confronting the reality of his feelings for his sisters. A truth that his late-night conversation with his mother had made glaringly apparent.
The crisp morning air did little to calm his tumultuous thoughts as he made his way to school. He was gripped by an undeniable truth - he loved his sisters, Luna and Aurora. Not just as siblings, but as lovers. He realized that his feelings weren't as pure and innocent as he'd led himself to believe. They were deeper, far more complex, and incredibly taboo.
His hands clenched into fists in his pockets. The realization was as liberating as it was unnerving. A part of him felt relieved for finally acknowledging the truth, but another part was petrified of what it meant for their relationship, for their future.
As he turned a corner, his eyes fell on Nami and Nojiko, two of his closest childhood friends. Seeing him, both girls beamed, their eyes sparkling in the morning light as they dashed towards him. "Orion!" they chorused, their arms flinging around him. Orion's face was buried into their bosoms as they clung to him.
His heart pounded in his chest, the intimate contact flooding him with warmth, but there was a lingering guilt that gnawed at his heart. An unfamiliar sensation that hadn't been there before. He enjoyed their closeness, their carefree affection, but now, he couldn't help but think about Luna and Aurora. His mind echoed with their pleas, their fear, and their desperate attempts to keep him close.
"Hey, girls," he mumbled, pulling away from their embrace. His gaze flickered between Nami and Nojiko, both beaming at him with nothing but pure, platonic love in their eyes. It stirred a bitter pang of jealousy within him - they were oblivious to his turmoil, ignorant of the labyrinth of emotions he was trying to navigate.
"Orion," Nami said, her voice chirpy as she looped her arm through his, her playful wink only exacerbating his sense of guilt. "We were thinking of getting some tea. Wanna join?"
With a sigh, he accepted, hoping to unwind his tangled thoughts. Yelping happily upon his nod, Nami and Nojiko locked their eyes with his, their ample bosoms pressing against his arms as they flirted openly, dragging him towards the best tea shop in the town, "Uncle Iroh's Tea Shop". Perhaps the idle chatter of the girls would serve to distract him from his internal turmoil.
Upon entering the shop, the aromatic fragrance of exotic teas wafted in the air, providing a sense of warmth and comfort. The elderly owner, Uncle Iroh, greeted them with a smile as kind as the summer sun, his eyes sparkling with welcoming warmth. Next to him, his nephew Zuko served the patrons, his face a stark contrast with his uncle's, etched with seriousness but softened by a certain gentleness.
"Good morning, Orion, Nami, Nojiko," Uncle Iroh's voice, a soothing blend of wisdom and kindness, echoed around the bustling tea shop. "The usual for you three?" he asked, his eyes twinkling in mirth.
Orion was not one to display his negative emotions openly. The turmoil churning within him did not betray itself on his face. He remained composed, his expression giving away nothing of his inner conflict. Yet, the flicker of contemplation in his eyes, the slight clench of his fists, and the silence that hung around him were subtle indicators that something was amiss.
He watched as Uncle Iroh prepared their usual orders, his practiced hands skilfully handling the intricate teapots and delicate cups. Zuko moved with equal efficiency, his focused expression a stark contrast to his uncle's cheerful demeanor. There was a quiet strength in the way the two men handled their tea shop, a strange solace in their harmonious rhythm.
"Something on your mind, Orion?" Nojiko asked, nudging him gently. The concern in her eyes was evident, her playful demeanor momentarily replaced by genuine worry.
"Nothing," Orion replied, his voice a low murmur. He managed a reassuring smile, his gaze momentarily meeting hers before returning to the cup of tea in front of him.
"Orion, we're just gonna pop to the restroom, okay?" Nami announced, her cheerful voice cutting through the tea shop's ambient noise. Before he could respond, she and Nojiko rose from their seats, their hands instinctively reaching for his face. He could barely react as they simultaneously planted kisses on his cheeks, dangerously close to his lips. Their shared giggle echoed in his ears as they sashayed away, their arms linked together.
