"Tch. Now I don't even have these trash swords." Kaden clicked his tongue and walked forward to collect the loot which was three bundles of spider silk and a vial of tarantula venom, along with some silver coins.
"Not bad." He tossed them into his spatial ring and turned around to catch the old man staring at him weirdly, his mouth agape.
As soon as their gazes met, the old man immediately started stammering. "You... you slew the beast! How can I ever thank you, kind sir?"
Kaden let out an exasperated sigh, thinking of the long road ahead of him. At least this one did not get scared of his minions and force him to waste extra time to try and soothe him.
"Save your thanks. We're not out of danger yet. Let's keep moving."
As they continued on their way, the old man's incessant chatter and seemingly misguided direction began to irritate Kaden further. Every twist and turn seemed to lead them into more trouble, more battles, and more delays.
