Ozak sat at the edge of his bed, staring at the wall in front of him.
He had just woken up and was trying to summon the courage to face the day ahead.
Today was the first day of school, and he couldn't shake the feeling of dread that had been gnawing at him all summer.
He heard his mother's voice calling him from downstairs. "Ozak, honey, breakfast is ready!"
Taking a deep breath, he got up and slowly made his way to the kitchen. As he sat down at the table, he looked down at his plate of pancakes and eggs, but didn't feel like eating.
His parents noticed his lack of appetite and asked him if he was feeling okay. Ozak mumbled something about not being hungry and quickly finished his glass of orange juice before retreating back to his room.
He spent the rest of the morning trying to distract himself from his nerves by playing video games and watching TV. But every time he heard a car pass by on the street outside, his heart would skip a beat.
As the time to leave for school approached, his anxiety reached a peak. He changed his outfit three times, trying to find something that would make him feel less conspicuous. Finally, he settled on a plain t-shirt and jeans.
When it was time to leave, his mother hugged him tightly and wished him luck. His father patted him on the back and told him he was proud of him.
As he walked out the door and made his way to the bus stop, Ozak felt like all eyes were on him. He kept his head down and tried to avoid making eye contact with anyone.
When he got on the bus, he found a seat near the back and sank into it, feeling like he was invisible. As the bus pulled away from his house, he closed his eyes and tried to take deep breaths.
For the rest of the ride, he sat in silence, lost in his own thoughts. When they finally arrived at school, he stepped off the bus and followed the crowd of students towards the entrance.
As he walked through the halls, he couldn't help but feel like he was walking into a trap. But he kept his head down and kept moving forward, hoping that somehow, he would make it through the day unscathed.
