The resort is incredible.
Walking under the tropical canopy of the rainforest with our welcome drinks in hand, the main building comes into view. It has a thatched roof that Xeni tells us is in the architectural style of the indigenous people here. But since wood is not sustainable and not environmentally conscious, recycled wood has been used to create the same effect—with all of the modern weather-proofing and safety assurances that luxury amenities would, of course.
The interior of this main building is surrounded by windows in its entirety, which gives the sense of there being no real separation between interior and exterior spaces. And with the way the architecture is tucked into its surroundings, the wild of the forest comes all the way up to the doorway.
