Chereads / Zootopia: Beyond the Horizon / Chapter 25 - Epilogue

Chapter 25 - Epilogue

The journey beyond the horizon ends here. The real threat has been dealt with and the two kingdoms are about to come to a reconciliation.

Blake, Regina and Ash are on their way home. Their journey was very long, taking an entire night. The sun is already rising on the horizon. Moments before entering Zootopia's airspace, the dropship is tracked. Ash gets in contact with the airspace traffic control to identify himself and to avoid being shot down. He succeeds in getting identified and the dropship is granted permission to enter the airspace. Ash directs the pilot to fly to the largest military airport in Zootopia but before they actually get there, Blake and Regina ask him a little favor....

Back at their home in Foxenville Hills, Rudolph and Cosmo are just "waking up" from a sleepless night when Claire storms into their bedroom like a commando all lively and exhilarated about something. She tells them she's got a super secret surprise for them and that they should dress up immediately. They look a bit confused at first but then they get to it.

Sometime later, Claire takes them to the airport where something really beautiful awaits. She takes them out near the hangars where the helipads are located. She hasn't told them a single word about what this trip is all about to keep them both tense and nervous but then, they see their mom and dad in the distance walking towards them shortly after landing. It takes only a second for them to weep in joy and start running towards them, dropping tears of extreme happiness in the middle of the road. Blake and Regina stop in one place and await them with open arms for some top quality hugs and smooches. Claire stays behind to watch them from afar, delighted. The boys reach their parents and hop into their arms, Cosmo gets a tight embrace from Blake while Rudolph gets the motherly love his heart needed the most with a tight embrace as well. The four are now reunited, all shedding tears, now all holding each other affectionately after an overdose of hugs and kisses. It doesn't take a minute and Claire joins her family too, welcoming back Blake and her sweet sister throwing all kinds of jokes and some really "meaningful" remarks.

Ash on the other hand, has nobody who would embrace him and show him some love, he walks down the ramp from the Gryphon dropship. Seeing Blake all happy and reunited with his family puts a smile on his face, Blake notices this and nods with his head as a form of friendly goodbye which makes Ash do the same. Blake then starts walking away with his family now as a completely different person, a person who now has millions of reasons to keep fighting for the life he has right now. Ash remains standing in one place, reflecting until a congenial company of soldiers, officers and airport workers approach him with respect, cheering for him after learning the truth about Hayden. They all see a true leader in him, just like they always did. He does not feel so lost anymore as he has rediscovered his purpose once more. After having a little speech in front of them that ends with everyone around saluting him, he gets escorted out from the airport.

One year later, Zootopia and Gryphonia are united and hold a strong alliance between each other. Neyla's father has been resurrected and now reigns right next to Neyla as a proud father.

Lyra has a strong bond with Gyzmoo. The two have spent months working together blessing the two kingdoms with their technological marvels. Lyra spends most of her time looking after a one year old toddler, named Zack Weaver, which she adopted as her own son and now takes a lot of pride in him, taking him back and forth between Gryphonia and Bunnyburrow. She is now allowed to spend as much time as she can with her unusually big family consisting of hundreds of bunnies including Judy Hopps herself.

After being manipulated and broken by Hayden's mental tricks, Jacob was able to quickly recover from the "curse" that Hayden inflicted on him. Upon leaving the mental institution, Jacob decided to get back to the job he loved the most, being a ZPD officer. Having many years of experience in his career, he could easily reapply and become a two time ZPD officer, now holding a rank of a deputy chief.

Losing a loved one isn't an easy thing to get over, Ashley's death has only made Ash a stronger and more capable person. He swore to maintain integrity and freedom in all Zootopia and far beyond. He announced his candidacy for the Mayor of Zootopia and then crushed the opposition, becoming the mayor with ease due to having a steadfast morale and reputation all across the kingdom. Not only has he taken over the office of the mayor, but he also has the entire army under his sole control, because as a mayor of Zootopia, the elected person becomes the general of the army as well. It took him a couple of months to rebuild the broken government and clean the mess Hayden left behind so democracy in Zootopia can prevail for as long as he is in charge.

Blake has proposed to Regina, the couple is now getting married. As for their lovely children, Cosmo has also found someone special. but he finds it very complicated to tell everyone, because his "preference" is not what most consider "common". Rudolph at the other hand, has fallen into the deepest pits of depression and anxiety as a result of having been bullied to extreme heights for years by his nemesis Jake Wanderhaal, who has been dismissed from school and sent to a youth detention center for six months after he physically assaulted him that one day, causing Rudolph not only physical injuries but also long-term mental problems. The brightest light in his life in the middle of everything is his love interest, Madison Wilde who is slowly becoming more than just a friend to him.

THE END!
