Chereads / AKIR / Chapter 6 - THE PROMISED DAY

Chapter 6 - THE PROMISED DAY

As I was walking down the aisle Rita ran in my direction, barely catching her breath

-"Huh....young master .. huh..the lady is looking for you...huh...she's waiting for you in her room."

-"Okay, I'm heading there."

knock knock

She answered me from behind the door

-"Yes, go ahead"

-"Good morning, mom."

-"Good morning Akir".

With her usual smile, she tilted her head.

- "Where have you been since early morning, you're not doing anything useless, are you?".

I got goosebumps, did she find out?, I tried hard to hide it, I will deny what she said:

-"No, no, I was just walking to catch the morning breeze."

She narrowed her eyes and said in a cold tone:

-"Mmmm, well...Actually, I was waiting for you to try on your ceremonial clothe...".

She check me out from top to bottom

-"..but you seem to have grown taller."

-"That's right, young sir. He's grown a lot. It looks like he's going to be as big as the master."

Lucy spoke proudly

Mary suggested altering the clothes

-"I'll call the tailor to enlarge it."

My mother liked Mary's suggestion.

- "That's fine, Mary take care of Acker's clothes, and I'll focus on the rest of the supplies."

- "Okay, ma'am."

Since that moment, for a whole tiring month, serious expressions have not left my mother's face.

Until the day of the ceremony came, my mother smiled again

I thought I saw all my mother's expressions, but for the first time I saw her face like this

I was almost sure that her cheeks would tear from smiling, her eyes were sparkling with joy,

The maids dressed me and prepared me, my mother entered the room and then put her hands on my shoulders while she was whispering in my ear

-"You look great , now show them who is the next master of the Herodotus family, show them who is the strongest."

- "I will certainly make you proud."

Suddenly Rita screams

- "Kyah, sir, you look very handsome."

- "He's the miniature version of Mr."

Lucy spoke

While Rita and Lucy are talking, they are interrupted by the servant's voice

-" Madam and young master, the Lord is waiting for you in front of the carriage".

With enthusiasm and joy said my mother:

- "Come on, Akir, let's go, we shouldn't keep your father waiting so long."

She grabbed me by the hand, and walked with me, that's when we met my dad, he looked at me closely and said:

-"are you ready ".

I nodded

-"Yes I'm ready".

He smiled and then turned his back, we got into the carriage, I looked out the window and saw Sir Evon waving at me.

Seeing him before the ceremony was a source of relief.

No need to stress, I am the next master of the Herodotus family.

Spirit Tower

We got to the tower

When we got off the carriage we were greeted by a number of spiritualists, who seemed to be the most courteous among them ، he said:

- "You are welcome, gentlemen. Please follow me to the hall."

I looked at the place , I imagined it would be a real tower, but it was completely different, a wide place with green spaces and gardens, there were several buildings, and tall white tower in the center, everyone behaved dynamically as if they were in a temple, not everyone wore white clothes, but I felt A strange aura surrounded all those spiritists. Was it because of their mana?

My father was calm, but his gaze was sharper than usual, while my mother maintained her smile

Another person came and asked my father to go with him.

We stayed on our destination until we reached the central tower. We entered a large hall.

The weather is very cold, the walls and floor are white marble, and the windows are colored mosaics, which color the marble when the sun's rays penetrate it.

My father arrived moments after us, and with him was an old man with a short white beard and a white robe. He seemed calm and dignified, surrounded by a peaceful aura.

He is the great spiritualist

He looked at me while playing with his beard and said:

- "So you are the Pride of the Fire Family. I heard that you are naturally talented and genius."

I bowed slightly and said:

- "Thank you, sir, for the compliment."

He smiled and then continued talking to my father

From my observation of the conversation he was not speaking formally or even with titles of nobility.

He seemed to be a person of imposing stature. He did not even pronounce my family name, but only mentioned fire. My father did not object at all, but continued to speak and smile.

He turned to me and said:

-"Now stand in this magic circle.

Huh, what is he talking about? What magic circle...

I looked down and saw a giant circle drawn on the ground.

How long has she been here?, I swear it wasn't there a moment ago.

I forgot my confusion and stood in the middle of the circle.

He put his hand on my forehead and said:

-"Boy, close your eyes, relax, and don't think about anything".

Suddenly, a great light shone in the hall

The old man started to speak loudly

-" Akir Herodotus, son of Persophone Herodotus, you will be from now on...".

Suddenly a heavy silence fell on the place

I open my eyes, I looked at the Chief Spiritist

He has a worrying expression on his face

-"why you are silent?".

My father spoke in an angry voice

- "Actually your son possesses very high mana."

My father's voice got louder.

- "And what about the fire? Tell me."

As for my mother, she became pale and her lips turned blue

The great spiritual looked down and said in a quiet voice:

- "I'm sorry your son didn't inherit the fire element, and he doesn't even have the slightest affinity for fire."

-"So you say my son has no affinity?".

-"Actually he has a magic of... space."

- "What?! You are saying that the heir of the Herodotus family is a doorman?".

What is this Chief spiritual talking about?

Didn't I inherit the power of fire? There must be something wrong

What will happen to me now?

Wait, mother, what happened to her?.

As soon as I turned to her, I found her kneeling on her feet and looking at me...

Strange looks, she curses me, says I ruined her life

My father ran out of the hall, my mother ran to catch up with him, screaming begging

-"Honey, wait, where are you going? Please don't leave."

She grabbed his arm, but he pushed her until she fell to the ground.

- "Get away from me, woman."

She started crying, tears covering her entire face.

- "Leave your son like this".

-"It is impossible for my son to be useless, after all my efforts,

Yes, that's right, it can't be, this must be someone else's son, you must have betrayed me."

-"What, what are you saying, I wouldn't even dare think of betraying you."

-"And what makes me believe you? You must have taken advantage of my absence in the war. I will call the Magic Tower to discover this. Now go away. I don't want to see you anymore, neither you nor that dependent."

Once again the same story is repeated

Why is this happening to me? where did I go wrong ?

Things always go wrong out of my control, what will happen to me now

While I was immersed in my thoughts, the Sheikh approached me and said:

-"Guy, you don't have to overthink it."

I looked at him in surprise and told him angrily:

- "What do you mean? Don't you understand yet? I'll be a door wizard. That means I'm useless. All I can do is open magic gates to transport goods and people. This is not the ability of the Herodotus family heir .Now my life is ruined, from now on it will be hell."

- "I understand what you are afraid of, but you are not like other people. Being a janitor does not mean that you are weak. Try to turn what you have into a weapon."

I scoffed at him, what he said seemed absurd and illogical

-"Hey, what do you mean? The gates that transport items could be a weapon?"

He tilted his head and smiled

- "There is a saying that a real swordsman can split rock even with a leaf. You should do the same."

- "If this is possible, how can I do it?"

- "You know your magic best, aren't you a genius, as they say?"

-"Why are you telling me all this?"

He grabbed his beard and started rubbing it

-"Hmm, I don't know it's the spirits. They asked me to do this."

-"The spirits?!".

- "You say you will need it, I hope you will benefit from their advice."

Our conversation was interrupted by the servant calling me

-"Young master, where are you?"

The Sheikh patted me on the shoulder and said

-"Now you have to leave, and don't forget what I told you."

-"Thank you, I will think about this advice carefully. Goodbye, Sheikh."

The Sheikh looked up and said to himself:

-"I wonder, what did the spirits see in him that they could be so sad for him?".

I went to the place of the cart, but I did not find it. I asked the servant.

Where is the cart and where did my parents go?

-"Indeed, the gentleman has gone by the carriage, and the lady has taken one of the tower's carriages. And the gentleman said that you should go back to the palace yourself, since you are... a janitor. I'm sorry to say that, sir."

- "It's not your fault."

Not even half an hour had passed and he started treating me like trash

-"Don't worry, I'll ride the horse."

That day was the turning point that completely changed my life and my thinking, a day I will never forget.
