18 years earlier, from an orphanage, a doctor named Tara adopted a kid girl, in her home. She used to live with her husband, who died out of cancer, an year later she adopted her. With her husband gone, she got depressed of not being able to save him, being a wife and a doctor. Not knowing and realising, what to do in such situation, the girl still tried very hard to soothe her. Seeing her tremendous love and affection, Tara named her Amulya which means precious. On the other side, miles away in a normal house,a single parent (mother) was nourishing her son with tremendous love, she used to tell him, stories about the history of petropia. From early age, he was very charismatic and he was fond of writing stories and singing. She named him Aditya which means sun. 5 months back from now, Aditya was sitting on his desk, writing something. But out of nowhere, he gets spaced out and get lost in his thoughts completely. His mom calls him and he immediately snaps out of it. He replies – "I am coming mom." While cleaning up his room, he says – "So much on going." "I have to do this, then that and finish this one. I might die writing all of this." He adds – "Writers are kind of overthinkers. What do you think?" "Think about it, meanwhile I will see what my mom has to say." He goes down, gets ready and grab a bread in his mouth while watching TV. The reporter on the TV says – "A huge chunk of the eastern coast has fallen. It is requested to the citizens near that land to move inside the island." Then something just strikes his mind and he take his book and tell his mom that he is going out somewhere. The sunlight was warm, sky was blue, with some fluffy clouds which the birds were flying and piercing through. He was on the beach sitting on a bench, in a corner, above the white sand, seeing the scenaries. Kids were playing, people were chit-chatting and everyone was enjoying. Some in water, some on sand. Aditya was relaxing and refreshing his mood. He says – "A tip from a pro, if you ever feel low inside, go to a beach and see these sceneries… (he looks around) I don't mean that… (referring to the girls) but the cheerful atmosphere." All of a sudden, he notice something twinkling in the sand, near the shore.He asks to himself – "What's that ?" He tries to go near it but, mistakingly collides with a girl passing by. They both fall down and the pearls, which she was carrying in her bag, get spoiled out. The girl shouts on him - "Can't you look around while walking, you moron." "Now help me in gathering those pearls again.* - she adds. He says - "I am sorry. I will do that." (While collecting the pearls) She asks - "Why was so urgency? Where the hell were you looking at ?" (While turning her head towards the shore.) She see some girls playing in the water. She misunderstands and calls him a pervert and walks away angrily. He sighs - "Huh.." And went towards the shore and picks up the twinkling thing. Which was a pearl too. He says - "That girl… Why would anyone collect this?" "What's special in it?" - He asks. He puts it in his pocket. He says - "I don't know, if we will meet again but, if we do, then I want to clear the misunderstanding, she had for me." "Anyways.. why am I thinking about it so much ?" - He asks to himself. And he walks away. The next day, Aditya see that girl sitting under a coconut tree on that beach, checking her bag. He goes near her and says - "Hey there." She gets anxious and shout - "Stay away you pervert, don't come near me. I will…" He interrupts and say - "Stop. Just listen to me one sec. Firstly, you misunderstood me. I am not that kind of a guy. And second, I am here to give you this." He shows her the pearl, he picked. She asks suspiciously - "Why would you do that ?" He replies - "I saw you collected so many so, I thought you would want it more."She says - "Okay, then give me that." He gives her the pearl. And after talking for a while, they both laugh out of fun. She asks - "So, it happened like that ? I am so sorry." (While laughing) He says - "Yeah, it's okay." "By the way, why do you collect all these? Is this your family business or something?" - He asks jokingly and chuckle. She says - "Ha, very funny." Little annoyingly. He apologize - "Sorry, my bad. But, please, tell me, why do you collect all of these. They are not so special, I mean." She replies with a cute angry expression - "Hey, you are being mean there and anyway, why would I tell this to someone I just met?" "I won't tell you." He asks - "Hey, we are friends now, right?" She replies - "I suppose. My name is Amulya." He says - "My name is Aditya." She says - "You see, these pearls are precious because, they are formed deep down on the sea bed into the oyster's shells. Out of which, only few of them make it to the shore. That's why, I collect them." He sighs - "Huh… I think, I should take a nap." She says - "You mean." And she smiles pleasantly. Aditya looks at her for a while and get spaced out. He asks to himself - "What is this feeling I am having here? Her smile… My heart is pumping so fast that it could burst. Her eyes… Her presence is magnificent. I can smell the sweet flowery fragrance of her body. Her scent and her silky flying hairs. Her soft skin. Am I going crazy? What's happening with me? Pull yourself together, Aditya. Am I falling for her? Come to think of it, her style, her clothes, she is a pure beauty. Anyone could fall for her. But I did and I wanna…" She calls out - "Hey Aditya, I think, you spaced out there for a second."He pulls himself together and says hesitatingly - "Y-yeah, I am fine. Don't worry." Doctor Tara was watching all of this through a glass layered wall of the hospital's building near the beach. At evening, Amulya returns to the hospital, where Tara was waiting for her. Tara says - "I saw you made good friends with that kid. Although, I was not able to see his face clearly." Amulya replies - "So, you were keeping an eye on me, huh?" Tara says - "Naturally. You are not allowed to go far away in such condition." Amulya replies - "He is my new friend. Not that I have many. Everybody kept distance from me because of this creepy disease. Everybody ran away. Although, it's not contagious. And now, he came. And anyways, I was just walking on the beach. I didn't invited him. Now, tell me, what will happen to him because, we just talked and did nothing else." Crying out of pain and frustration. Tara soothes her and say - "Hey, hey, look at me. I am with you. I will never leave you. I am not going anywhere. No matter whoever leave, your mom will be always by your side." Amulya hugs her tightly, while crying and apologizing. Tara was comforting her saying - "Calm down, it's okay, it's okay." Tara was controlling her emotions too. Staying strong in front of Amulya. After a while, they both sat on a bed and were talking something. Tara asks, while looking at the bag, Amulya's holding "Why are you doing this? You have to take as much rest as possible." Amulya replies - "Collecting pearls reminds me of the remaining days I have, in this place with you. It makes me fear but, at the same time, prepares me. For when the time comes, it will be less painful."Tara gets upset and angry on her - "I don't want to hear that. It's like self torture. You have to stop it. It makes me hurt. I have gone through a lot already. (Getting emotional) I lost your father when I was the only one treating him. I always think, if i could have done more. If i could have saved him. I always live with that regret and the wound gets deeper, day by day. I was not able to forgive myself for that. And now, you who bought me out of that depression, is leaving me too. How am I suppose to handle all this pain alone?" Tara breathes heavily in panic. Amulya give her a glass of water and she drinks it. Amulya says - "Calm down. I am not going to go anywhere. I will recover. I will live but, I have come so far please, let me collect them. Maybe they will become my reason to wake up everyday." Tara replies - "Do as you please." Amu adds - "And I want him to be my friend." Tara replies - "Okay but, don't get too attached with him." Amulya replies - "Yes. I know. And one more thing. Don't tell him about my disease, if you ever met." Tara says - "Yeah, fine." Next morning, Aditya comes in that hospital and talks to doctor Tara for some prescription. Amulya, who was fortunately there, notices him and immediately goes and interrupts them in between. Amulya says - "Hi Aditya." Aditya replies - "Hey Amulya." Amulya says - "Doctor Tara, he is my friend, Aditya. (Blinking her eyes, giving Tara sign that he is that guy.) Amulya asks - "What happened? Why do you come here? Aditya replies - "Nothing, I wanted some medicines for my mom. She has some serious migraine pain." Amulya replies - "Oh my god." Tara says - "I will prescribe some medicines which will make them feel better. Meanwhile, you register your name and number at the reception."Aditya says - "Yes ma'am." And he rogers that. Aditya takes the medicines from Tara. She says - "There you go. Hope it helps." Aditya thanks her. Then he asks Amulya - "Then what about you? Why are you here?" She replies hesitatingly - "Umm.. I work as an intern here." Aditya says - "Oh I see." Tara suggest - "Why don't you both go out and talk." Amulya says - "Yeah, I am going to a library. Wanna come?" Aditya says - "Yeah sure." They both went in an old library. It was dark inside and the furnitures were made up of of wood, coated with dust. Aditya asks jokingly - "Is this a library or a haunted house?" Amulya says - "You are not suppose to talk, you idiot." Aditya apologise to her. She takes out a book from the shelf, sit on a chair and start reading it. Aditya asks - "What are you reading?" She answers - "A book." He says - "Yes, I can see that but, which book?" She says - "City of Atlantis." "Do you know about it?" - she asks. He replies - "Half of it. It was very tragic and painful. Didn't feel like reading it forward. Grief, loss of loved ones, suffering. It's unbearable. Imagine, if we were there. I can't even imagine. Makes me feel chills in my spine." She replies - "That doesn't bother me. In the end, we have to face the same reality. We all die. Whatever the cause may be." He replies - "Seriously, is that the way you see things? If anyone would allow me to grant my wish, then I would have wished for a world full of cheerful people. Where no one will hurt each other. Everyone will live together and go wherever we want freely. Explore every wonders of the world and still be curious for more. A world full of love and affection. Because, the end of one story is the beginning of another."Amulya just kept looking at him as he was speaking. Afterwards, they came out of the library. Aditya asks - "Now where? To the shore?" He smiles. Amulya - "I didn't know many people and I didn't have many friends. I still don't…" Aditya interrupts and says - "How could a talkative girl like you don't have friends? Sure you act all mature but that makes you very understanding. Sometimes, you get depressed and I think it's related to the pearls and I am not asking the reason but, I wanna help. I am sorry if I hurted you back then with that lame joke. But, you know, you don't have to worry much about others. Everyone has a dark side. So, you are not alone in this. Everyone needs support. And as a friend, I will support you. You are perfect the way you are. Don't hide your true self from the world. I don't know about others but, I am your friend and I forever will be. And now about the pearls, I am helping you collect them." Tears came out of her eyes, hearing all that and she became red. She says - "You idiot." In the evening, at the hospital… Tara asks - "So, this is what he said to you ?" Amu says - "My heart fluttered as soon as he said those words." Tara warns - "But, you know, it isn't going to end well." "I am trying my best but, your condition is not improving." Amu says tearing up - "Keep trying, I will try. Now that he is with me, I don't wanna die." Giving each other hope and courage to live, they both played and enjoyed the time they spent together while collecting those pearls. They slipped down, they supported each other, they fell in the water and they laughed a lot. Both of them were teaching each other to see life with a better perspective, with love. Together, they both collected 200 pearls in total. Remembering his help and as a token of her love and gratitude, Amulya spent a whole nightworking in combining those pearls together and forming a crystal for him out of those 200 pearls. The next day, she was ready with that crystal, standing on the beach, waiting for him to show up, all day long. But, he didn't come. Then exhaustingly in the evening, when she was just about to go back, he came. Seeing him, she ran towards him and hugged him tightly. Aditya says chokingly - "Hey, you are crushing my bones." Amu asks - "Where were you? I was waiting for you for so long." Aditya says - "I will speak when you let me." She leaves him and he laughs it out. He says - "You had me there for a moment." "Now tell me what's with the hug?" She turns red and says - "Put that aside and close your eyes." He says hesitatingly - "Okay…" She holds the crystal upfront and says - "Now open them." He gets amazed looking at the beautiful shining bluish green crystal with a little white glitter in it. He asks surprisingly - "Did you make it?" "It's magnificent." She replies - "Yeah, for you." He wonders - "For me ?" "It can't be. It's yours, it's your hard work. Remember how much time you spent collecting all of them." She replies - "Yes but, you led me up till here otherwise, I would have stopped very early on." "So please, take it. It's a token of my gratitude." He says - "Okay, if you say so. I will cherish it forever." She gives that crystal to him and quickly kisses him on his cheek and says with teary eyes while moving back - "Thank you for everything." Aditya gets stunned for a while after what happened. Then at night, in his house, the crystal was kept on his desk, near the window. And the moonlight was making it glow brightly. He sits on the chair, watching the crystal, recalling thememories of him being with Amulya and suddenly a tear drop out of his eye. He looks at the crystal, opens his book and start writing something, without knowing that his mom is watching him. He says - "Amu, the days we spent together are the most precious part of my life. I think I fell for you at the very moment I talked with you, under the coconut tree. I was uncertain at that time but, I know now, we collide because, we were destined to. Our stories were seperate but, now they are not. It took me time to understand how much I feel for you. I really love you amu through all my heart. And I will be by your side forever." The next morning, while collecting the pearls on the shore. She asks - "So you are a writer, huh?" He replies - "Yeah, sort of. I write pretty well on my part, I guess. But, most of my work is still pending." She asks - "Because of me?" He replies - "Nah… l got lazy." He chuckles. "Well, I am working on something now. I hope it goes well."- he adds. She says - "Yes it will. Will you show it to me once it's done." "Promise me." - she adds. He says - "Yeah, why not?" "I will give it to you like you gave me the crystal." She smiles pleasantly. Aditya finds a pearls and picks it up. He calls - "Amu, here's one more." She gets amazed and asks - "What did you say?" He replies - "I said, I got one more pearl." She replies - "No." And asks - "What did you call me ?" He says worryingly - "I… called you… Amu…" She gets red after hearing that. He instantly replies - "I didn't mean it in a bad way. I am sorry if I hurted you by calling you that." She replies - "No, that's not it. You can call me that from now on."By looking at the pearl, he just gave, she recalls and asks "Do you remember, what you said in the library about the life you want and the world you wished, you were in. That world truly is beautiful. I want to be a part of it too." He replies - "You are already living in it. See, we are together." After a while, they say goodbye to each other and they went home. That night Amulya's condition became even worse and she immediately had to be hospitalized right away. Her mom got panicked but still, holding herself together. 3 days passed, resting in the hospital. Meanwhile, Aditya was searching for her too, worrying about her that why isn't she coming. Maybe, she got stucked in some problem or maybe something else happened, he thought. He used to get tired but, still tried to find her and think about her. Seeing him restless, his mom start worrying about him too. She gets a phone call from doctor Tara and she tells her everything that happened. After that, Aditya's mom goes to him and asks - "What happened Aditya? You are acting strange lately." He replies - "No, it's nothing. Just thinking about a story." She says - "It's not just a story. It's beyond that. Is it a girl ?" He gets shocked and asks - "How do you know?" She says - "That doesn't matter. Now, tell me. What happened between you two?" He replies - "Well… her name is Amulya. She's a really sweet girl. I met her on the beach and we became friends. She is fond of collecting pearls on the shore so, I helped her collecting them. We talked, we played and we enjoyed. But, now for past few days, she is nowhere to be seen, which is worrying me. I want to tell her what I feel for her. I know, it's embarrassing sharing all of this with you but, I really love her." His mom says - "It's okay. I am your mom. You can share everything with me. Look at me, a woman's heart beatsonly for a special person, she chooses for life and she will give her everything to him. Once she holds your hand, she will never let go. She will take care of you like a mother, f ight with you like a baby and will love you unconditionally and passionately. She will trust you completely so, it's your responsibility, not to break it. She is delicate so, you have to protect her. She will try everything to make you smile and you have to do the same as well. Make her excite, we love excitements and surprises. And confess your love like a man." Aditya smiles and hug her saying 'thank you' and his mom soothes him saying 'welcome dear.' On the other hand, doctors tell Amulya that she has only 2 months left of her life. Tara breaks out in tears after hearing that. "Not again, no more suffering please…" - she cries. Amulya hugs her frighteningly, saying - "I am not going anywhere. No way I am staying with you and Aditya." She cries too. "I didn't even tell him about my disease. And I didn't tell him that I love him. I love him very much." - she adds cracklingly. Then amu pulls herself together and think that if now he gets to know that she had such life threatening disease, he will break inside emotionally and will loose control over himself. So, she decide something. The next day, he gets ready in front of his mirror, wearing nice clothes, applying scent and all and he takes the crystal and his unfinished story book and decide to confess his love to amu, setting his hairs one last time. He gets out of his house, walking towards the beach, thinking anxiously what will he say, how will he approach her and how to start so on. "Amu I love you." "I love you amu." "Nah…" "The past few weeks of mine were really the best part of my life and it's all because of you, I really love you amu." "Hmm… this one sounds better. Let's give it a try " "Oh my god, my heart's pounding. Better not die before reaching there." he says to himself.It was evening, when he reached there. And there was no one around. He start searching for her and waited there for a long time but, she didn't come. Then suddenly, he notices a letter on the bench. He picks it and opens it up. It says "Hey Aditya, from now on we won't be meeting each other anymore. Also don't try to find me or ask me why. I have my own reasons that I don't think I will tell you. Thank you for being so kind to me and helping me. Goodbye. - Amu." Aditya gets freezed for a while in shock, without knowing what to do or say. And the crystal in his hand falls down, getting a little crack on it. Symbolising the growing distance between Aditya and Amulya. He gets emotional "No, no, no, no, no…." He picks the crystal carefully and cries out of pain. He went home and hugs his mom cryingly. His mom was trying to make him understand and soothe him. While tears drop out of Amu's eyes too, looking at the beach from the hospital's window. "It's for your own good Aditya. Forget me. I hope you will have a nice life ahead." she says. A week passed and the climate of petropia starts corrupting. All the news channels and weather forecasting agencies report that the land of petropia is going to sink in the ocean. "It's a red alert to all the citizens. Immediately get all the evacuation teams ready. People are requested to gather all their belongings and get on the ports as soon as possible. It's an emergency. We have to evacuate this island." All the citizens get in panic, some called their loved ones to speak with them for one last time. Others were getting crazy, not knowing what to do in stress. They left everything, their money, properties and just held the hands of their families and everyone rushed towards the ports like animals the whole island was filled with crowd and noises. And in all that crowd, two were Aditya and Amulya with their mothers, searching for each other. Aditya, holding his book and the crystal tightly in his hand. Then suddenly,they both realise something and they start running towards the beach leaving their mom's behind. The officers push those two mothers inside the ships. They both shouted and cried for their children but, the officers didn't listen, as they were doing their jobs. Aditya was calling out Amulya's name, looking and wandering here and there and amu was searching for him too, so that she can see him one last time. The sky was getting reddish orange near the flames of the sun setting in the ocean in front of the beach. And getting purple going above to the sky. The orange sunlight fell on the sand and both of them came at the opposite poles of the beach, near the shore, one at each side. Looking for each other, they run towards the middle. They see each other coming and they smile out of happiness. But suddenly, multiple cracks generate in between the beach and the two, which start spreading through the whole island. Making it shatter into pieces gradually. They both raise their hands towards each other, calling out each other's name and come even closer towards each other when suddenly, a lightening strikes on Aditya's head and he dies. Seeing that in front of her eyes, Amu panics and collapses on the spot, moving her hand towards his body. The whole island gets sunk down into pieces with them in the depth of the ocean. The book opens up floating on the water and the broken crystal falls in between the pages, in the middle of the open book, coated with their blood. Multiple people got injured, multiple people died and survived this incident by evacuating to utopia city safely. The utopians welcome them peacefully. But even after the f leshes perished and their bodies crushed, Amu and Aditya's souls bind together with eternal love and affection and their memories form an energy cage around the place, connected to their mothers.
