Inside a small apartment a 21-year-old guy was sitting in front of a laptop.
On the screen were comments which he was reading.
'Dropped. The bullshit about MC being OP knows no bounds.'
'Where are the H-scenes?'
'Why is the main character so dumb? Did the writer hit his head when he was little?'
'I want my money back.'
Lines upon lines of negative comments.
"Ahh! Dammit what the hell is wrong with people? H-scenes? Go read hentai or something. MC is dumb? Just because you know some of the plot points does not mean MC is mind reader. As for money? You can go to the sewer and get it from the shit I took this morning!"
I paused for a second.
"As for OPness I am guilty and I don't care, fucking sue me!"
I cursed the laptop even though I knew they won't be listening.
I am a fast food worker and part time writer. I have always loved overpowered novels. The concept of being above all, the story of a guy being recognized by others, annihilating anyone who comes in your way and the thrill of being free. I loved it all.
There was a time when stories were all about a person's struggles. The villains were invincible, the hero had to scrap by and hero always defeated villain by a hair's breath in the last moment.
Then the OP novels came by and became the new trend. I have read more than I would like to admit. Then as I grew up I decided to be an author as well. But the problem was that the OP novel trend was decreasing with time. Instead people started liking novels with a sense of progression more.
Still I decided to write a novel with OP main character. Powers are all for the MC and the bullshit knows no bounds.
And guess what happened.
*sigh*
I rubbed my temples.
"Dammit I should probably go to sleep. I have an early shift tomorrow."
I shut down the laptop and lay on the bed.
Looking at the empty celling I thought.
'If only I could be that OP.'
Those readers don't get it. Life is hard. I want to live in a world where I am in control of everything. At least in control of myself. That is why I love OP novels. That is why I wrote one myself.
'But they are right as well.'
OP novels get repetitive. Same bullshit MC, Same face slapping and same cliché characters in every novel out there.
Every writer changes some starting elements and claims to be unique and I am no exception. If only I could…
*sigh*
I sighed again as I drifted to sleep.
And that was the last time I slept in my own room.
.
.
.
"Hey you OK?"
My head was dizzy and I was having difficulty opening my eyes.
Still slowly I opened them.
'Uh. Where am I?'
I slowly assessed my surroundings. I was on a small white bed and there was a middle aged man beside me.
"Marc. How are you feeling?"
He asked with a calm expression.
"Uh. Who are- uk!"
I held my head in pain as I sat up.
Marc Darius, Vampire, Lord, Hazel, memories flooded into my brain. Memories which weren't mine.
The middle aged man sat there with a poker expression as I groaned in front of him.
After a few seconds the pain went away.
I took deep breaths with my head down as I tried to make sense of my current situation.
I looks like I have been transmigrated into a story. Not my story, not even an OP story but a story in which MC in strong but also a little bitch and goes through a lot of character enrichment pain. It is also a story which I did not read until the end.
I slowly calmed myself down.
"Are you done?"
The man asked me.
I glanced towards him.
This is the teacher of MC and secretly a big agent who helps MC throughout the story.
"Fourth immortal lord. My colleagues will be jealous if I told them I taught such a personality… care to explain how it happened?"
I heard him and slowly processed the information.
Clenching my fist, I replied.
"I-I can't remember anything."
It was the truth. The MC in story did not remember. And I checked, those memories are blocked like a wall is stopping me from remembering.
The man kept staring at me. I felt that the air was slowly getting colder.
Then suddenly the pressure decreased.
"I see. Well you are free to go home… and keep it a secret."
I nodded my head slowly as I took a swift escape from that room.
