A vile dragon-like creature, the Wyvern, emerged from the forest. Hanako and Nanako tried to run from the Wyvern.
"Nanako! Just keep running, don't look back!" They both heard a loud screech from the Wyvern.
The Wyvern dived, preparing to attack Nanako. "Nanako! It's going to attack you. I'll try my best to protect you, but run as fast as you can!" Hanako cast multiple wind barriers in an attempt to protect Nanako.
Nanako, think of a way. There must be a way to protect myself from this attack. Think! Think! The Wyvern's claw tore through the barrier, and just before it could hit Nanako, she suddenly dashed away from its claw.
Hanako thought, "She used magic without chanting!? How is that possible?" while the Wyvern prepared to attack again. It seemed like the dash drained Nanako's mana, and she was starting to slow down.
"Nanako, come here! Hold my hand!" Nanako tried to reach for Hanako's hand, but the Wyvern prepared to attack them again. "There's no time!" Hanako cast a spell to boost her speed.
"Nanako, run into the village! Find someone who can help scare the Wyvern away."
"What about you, Hanako?"
"I'll hold it off somehow. Now go!" Hanako stood in front of the Wyvern, preparing to hold it off for Nanako while she ran towards the village.
As Nanako reached the village, she heard a loud screech. She felt worried about what happened to Hanako. She yelled, looking for someone who could help her. Everyone closed their windows until she bumped into a person.
Wearing white clothes, displaying the royal insignia, with blonde hair and blue eyes, the person was a knight from the royal family. "Whoa, calm down there, miss. Are you okay?"
"No, I'm not okay. I was chased by a Wyvern, and my friend stayed behind to protect me and hold off the Wyvern."
"A Wyvern, you say?" "Well then, can you show me where it is?"
"Follow me. Light Feather." She ran as fast as she could back to the place where they last saw the Wyvern.
On their way back, they encountered the Wyvern again. It had no injuries whatsoever. But Nanako saw Hanako in the clutches of the Wyvern.
"You little..." Nanako unsheathed her sword. "Wind Leap." As she was about to strike the Wyvern, it struck her before she could, knocking her back to the ground. But luckily, the knight was able to catch her.
"Be careful now, miss. This isn't your ordinary monster." He pulled out his sword. "Light Beam." A light started to build up on the tip of his sword, and suddenly, a laser shot out, aiming for the Wyvern's wing.
"My aim's been off for a while now. I might have to close in and fight it there." But then, more monsters emerged from the forest. "More enemies? Are they trying to buy time for the Wyvern to escape?"
The monsters seemed to be targeting Nanako. "Hey, Mr. Knight, help me. They're all coming after me!" "It'd really be a shame if I let the Wyvern escape, but this little girl needs my help. sigh I'm coming, miss."
In an instant, he took down all the monsters at once, while the Wyvern flew away while he was occupied.
"The Wyvern... It got away... My friend... It took my friend..." "Hanako..." Nanako fainted. "Now I have to bring her back to the village. sigh Why is there so much work for me to do today?"
The knight brought her back to the village, and Amane ran towards him. "Nanako! Nanako! What happened to her?" "She and her friend were attacked by a Wyvern. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to save her friend."
"Did he die?" "No, he didn't, but he was knocked unconscious by the Wyvern's claws." "Do you think you can save him?" "I'll get my fellow knights. We'll try our best to rescue him. But for now, I suggest you take care of your kid first. We'll give you news if we find the kid or the Wyvern. I left a mark on it, so I should be able to identify the Wyvern."
"Thank you so much, Sir..." "Alexander" "Sir Alexander, we'll be waiting for the news."
