Chapter 5 - The New World part 2[Chapter 5]

"Duke Frost, a band of unknown thieves has appeared in the woods far South of us and have been attacking and stealing from merchants and slaughtering a number of adventurers, ruin explorers, and many others that travel through that road.'

[In a deep rough and manly tone that exuded authority]

Duke Frost: send an investigative unit to find out their numbers, their leader and how strong they are. For the meantime shut down the road and create an alternate route.

"Duke, the amount of time it would take for us to construct an alternative route is estimated at 10 months to a year and in the case where events do not go according to plan it may be delayed longer."

Duke Frost: Advisor Greenfield, although the work to create one may take a while but I do not propose to construct a new road out of nothing, the is a path that wonders throughout the forest.

[walking up to a table with a map on it Duke Frost points to a patch covered by trees but showing signs of an old and outdated road.]

Duke Frost: Post a notice that current escort request to the south must be over a certain rank and inform the merchants and others that relating to escort request will need to discuss compensation with those at the head courters of the adventures guild and those that choose to may even request at the wanderers, although inform them that they do so at their own discretion. As for the particular group that is occupying the southern road, sent notice of a (clearing). Send someone to speak with the guilds and find a mutual agreement to see if there are any in the Kingdom that boast the strength to complete the request and restore the trade routes, in particular see if any here in rainfall are up to the task.

Advisor Greenfield: I shall send someone within the day and there is a request for assistance from the Souldom Kingdom.

[As the advisor passes the Duke a few pieces of paper it states that the King is requesting help directly from the Duke because his reputation and abilities in battle and political ways. "Dear Duke Frost, it is my humble wish that you will assist with an endeavor that has befallen outside of my kingdom. A tower that reaches the sky has appeared and in regards to it, there are two guards at the entrance than guard and only allow passage to those they deem qualified. many of the knights in the Souldom Kingdom have been ordered to stay away unless ordered otherwise. a group of knights were sent when the tower appeared and as they got to the gate the two that were guarding the entrance stopped the and stated: "Your strength does not qualify to enter." when the knights insisted and tried to enter without permission from the guards one of the two guards slaughtered the group of 21 knights in mere moments with not even the slightest struggle, leaving one alive to be a witness and to pass on a warning, "those who do not qualify will not enter, those who do not heed this rule will lose their life." countless others were sent and groups of adventurers who boast powerful ranks were either given permission to enter and have since not exited and not others who do not have permission have not left. in regards to those that were insulted and tried to enter without permission the result was always a massacre ending in the entrance being riddled with blood. I request that Duke Frost personal help in this endeavor and you shall be rewarded with whatever is deemed equal when completed as long as it be reasonable."]

Duke Frost: Damn that old bastard, he not asking for help he's trying to send me on a suicide mission as if I belong to his kingdom but he knows that we cannot refuse a formal request of assistance because it would give him an opportunity to turn the people of his kingdom and other kingdoms against us in the case that anything happens to them.

[sighs] send a reconnaissance group toward the Souldom Kingdom with an acceptance letter but include the formal responsibility falls on the Souldom Kingdom should anything happen and all fruitful prospects and spoils in the case of conquering the tower belong to the Indara Kingdom. Add that he is to negotiate with the king about terms or cooperation.

Advisor Greenfield: Yes Duke I will send an a messenger to deliver your words. I shall also inform the King of the matter

[In the west Nova walks out of the golden portal onto a road, he follows it and time ticks aways as he walks and walks and as his stomach grumbles and his legs ache.]

[He walks and a wall with a gate and a few guards now enter his field of view. As he see them he passes out and two of the guards rush towards him as the see him fall. as they get closer they see that his clothes are dirty and his clothes with designs in which they have never seen before]

[As he wakes up slowly opening his eyes he hears muttering and chatter in the distance.]

Nurse: We have no record of him and his mana signature is not registered

Guard: This boy was found in the front of the kingdom walls wearing unknown garment.

[grunting and groining softly]

Nova: Where am I?

Guard: You are in the medical ward of the Frongard kingdom

Nurse: it seems you exhausted yourself and have not eaten in quiet a while. Eat this to replenish your strength

[Hands Nova a plate of food]

Guard: Now, who are you and where are you from?

[The door slams open and a man with a scar of his right eye wearing chainmail and combat orientated clothes walks in]

"By decree of the King of Frongard you are to be taken in for questioning on the suspicious of being a foreign citizen or warrior assassin or investigator"

[The knights behind him block the door and a young girl enters the room.]

[Speaking something mysterious as symbols began to flow around her forming a circle in a green and black color. Chains began to come out and wrapped around Nova's hands forming cuffs around his wrist. He struggled to try and brake the chains but nothing seemed to work. At that moment another chain connected the cuffs and the girl held it as she pulled it with no effort yet Nova fell to the floor and was dragged.]
