Chapter 18 - Stupid Me

"What the hell do you think you are doing?! Let go of my hand, you stupid scum bag!" Trevor kept on yelling at Charlie as he was being dragged by him along the hallways. Some of the kids in the halls were watching them amusedly while some others were quiet confused about why Charlie was dragging along someone like Trevor with him. The girls in the halls were murmuring stuff to each other and it made Trevor sick in the stomach. He felt the immediate urge kick the living hell out of their sorry faces.

"Could you please just keep it low? You are dragging all the attention on to us" Charlie said in a low voice, his face looking as if he didn't want to do this either.

"Oh yeah? If you want me to keep it low, maybe you should just--" Trevor shut himself up abruptly when Charlie opened the door to the classroom.

He scowled at how every head turned towards the both of them. He couldn't quiet understand what it was about it that made him angry. Maybe it is the fact that everyone would have reacted in a different way if it were two girls instead of the both of them. He hated how people are so stereotypical and stubborn about certain things.

Like they haven't ever seen two guys holding hands. Wait, no, that's not what-- Trevor shut his brain out as a number of unnecessary thoughts came rushing in. Going tomato-red in front of a whole room of gals and boys while being held by another boy was the last thing he wanted to happen to him. Yet, he couldn't help but wonder why two boys walking together holding hands is not normalized.

It was just... Too much.

Charlie noticed Trevor's face settling into a far more darker version of the scowl he usually wears and despite the strange and weird looks sent his way, he put an arm around Trevor's neck and walked to one of the many empty seats in the room.

"From today onwards, you won't skip any classes and you will study everything properly, sitting right beside me and you're gonna score good marks. Fine?" Charlie smirked as he sat himself down after making Trevor sit down. No words could explain the amount of satisfication that washed over him at the moment. He felt like he was on top of the world.

Trevor looked at him with his eyes narrowed  and jaws clenched for some time and then bronx cheered, causing Charlie's lips to twitch up in amusement.

"Really?" He scoffed out.

Trevor kept his glare hoping that it would just burn the other boy's head off.

"Conner's habits are brushing off on you"

"You are the worst party pooper I know"

Charlie chuckled. "I know, right?"

"I'm going to kill you later"

"Okay"

Trevor groaned out of annoyance. Loudly.

And it made Charlie feel like someone put a snowball in the pit of his stomach. He hated how his brain had the nerves to think of something so absurd at a time like this.

He was afraid he might blush. So, he looked away.

He wondered why he was feeling the way he did. He needed to get it out of his head if he needs to sit here with the guy. But him being the stupid sensual guy he was, just couldn't think straight.

The former noisy class fell silent and Charlie looked up to see their english teacher, Miss West, walk into the class.

He turned his head towards Trevor and saw him glaring daggers at the head of the guy sitting in front of them.

"What the heck are you staring at?" Trevor's voice seemed to come out of nowhere and Charlie visibly startled.

Charlie snapped out of his trance and looked forward. "Nothing. Just wondering if you are going to set his head on fire. You know, the way you glare at it" he shrugged.

"Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Funny" Trevor muttered dismissively as he laid his head down on the table, shutting off everything around him.

He really hated studying. And that too by sitting beside a nerd who also turned out to be a major party pooper? That's the last thing he ever wanted to happen to him. He wished for sleep to consume him as soon as possible and closed his eyes, hoping to dream of a world without schools or teachers.

Charlie noticed Trevor trying to drift off to sleep. But he didn't bother waking him up. He just kept glancing at his face every now and then, admiring the fact that his face seemed just so perfect to him, though it had a scratch or two here and there from the frequent fights he got himself into. He wished if he could just lean in and touch that seemingly flawless skin. It was like they were so close, yet so far apart from each other. And Charlie hated that feeling. All he needed was to feel close to this boy. But it just seems to be the hardest task ever known to humanity.

Trevor's face seemed just so fine to him.

Charlie liked how Trevor's eyebrows were long and dark, but not as thick as his own. He wondered if Trevor really was asleep as he saw his pupils move behind his closed eyelids.

Maybe he is about to drift off.

He didn't feel like listening to anything the teacher was saying. It was so unlikely of him. But he was so gay for the boy sitting (or sleeping?) beside him that nothing else truly mattered anymore. He was pretty sure that he was going to have to face the consequences in the nearest future if he was going to keep this up. But what was he to do? He really had no choice. It was his life, being played by this boy sitting beside him and he was just a puppet.

"Carlton!"

Charlie snapped out of his thoughts as he heard a grim feminine voice call out his name.

Shit.
