The Twilight Villa used traditional metal locks and keys for all its guest rooms, which had a distinct antique appearance. They didn't employ modern security measures like laser magnetic cards, primarily to maintain the villa's classical ambiance. Besides, in such a highly secured semi-mountain retreat, theft was hardly a concern.
In the guest room area, along the long corridor, a young man dressed in the villa's service attire, with a pleasant countenance, pushed a cart loaded with various cleaning tools. He slowly approached a room, carefully observed the surroundings, and then came to a halt by the door.
He knocked on the nearest room's door. There was no response from inside. Concerned, he knocked two more times. Still no answer. The service staff member pressed his ear against the door, trying to discern any sounds from within.
After several tens of seconds, he was certain that the guest inside was fast asleep.
