Outside the door, the bodyguards, having seen Lin Ruoxi and Yang Chen before, didn't stop them for questioning. Instead, they nodded and opened the door, letting the two of them in.
As Lin Ruoxi walked in, Yang Chen hesitated for a moment. He reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a crumpled pack of two-yuan cigarettes he usually smoked. With a chuckle, he took out the last two cigarettes and offered one to each of the bodyguards.
"You guys work hard. Standing guard isn't easy. Have a smoke and relax," Yang Chen said in Korean, smiling.
The two Korean bodyguards were used to being offered cigarettes, but it was the first time someone handed them such low-quality ones. Out of politeness, they couldn't refuse, so they reluctantly accepted the cigarettes, forcing smiles and muttering their thanks.
