Just fifteen minutes before Yang Chen and his group were attacked, outside the Cai family's military district compound in Zhonghai, a tall, slender woman dressed in a tight black leather jacket was impatiently furrowing her brows. Her leather boots clicked against the cobblestone pavement as she walked towards the house. This woman was Cai Ning.
Following behind Cai Ning was a well-dressed, somewhat dashing man who wore a smile that seemed eager to please. He kept talking as they walked.
"Ning'er, I've already talked to my father. He's coming to Zhonghai for a meeting next month, and we'll meet Uncle Cai then. Our relationship is sure to be approved," he said.
Cai Ning halted her steps, finally unable to bear it, and turned to glare fiercely at the man behind her. "Yongye, how many times do I have to tell you? I don't like you. Why can't you understand?" she snapped.
