Yang Chen replayed the scene from last night in his mind, the inexplicable disappearance of Morpheus, and the subtle feeling when the Holy Grail fell into his hands. A vague sense of unease stirred within him.
"Lilith, do you know that, in reality, everything in the world is eternal?" Yang Chen spoke.
Lilith widened her eyes, seemingly unable to believe that such words were coming so earnestly from Yang Chen's mouth.
"How is that possible? Even though our vampire race, theoretically, is immortal, we still age and eventually die at an extremely slow pace. It can hardly be considered eternal. And as for other creatures, how could they all be immortal?" Lilith murmured.
Yang Chen rose from his seat and walked to the window, gazing at the vast view outside the apartment building – a network of streets crisscrossing, bustling with countless vehicles and pedestrians in the never-ending flow of the city.
