Chapter 3 - Chapter 2 Paying for the Services of a Prostitute

Upon hearing the praise, a slight blush spread across Rose's face. She bit her plump lips and muttered with a hint of self-pity, "What's the use of being beautiful? Some people rarely come to see me, and they even come so late for my birthday."

Facing the stunning and seductive woman in front of him, Yang Chen felt a surge of lust rising in his heart, especially when she looked at him with bewitching eyes, without any hint of rejection. However, his good mental composure quickly suppressed his restless heart, and he calmly smiled, "I don't drink, nor am I good at talking and entertaining women. Besides, I'm busy with my food stall every day and don't have much spare time."

With a hint of melancholy, Rose glared at Yang Chen and said, "Don't tell me these useless things. What's so great about running a lamb skewer stall? You work your ass off and barely make any money. If you really want to earn money so desperately, come work as my nanny. I'll pay you a hundred times more than what you make selling lamb skewers!"

Yang Chen smiled wryly and said, "Rose, there's no man who would work as a nanny."

"I've told you so many times, call me Rose. Am I really that old?" Rose pouted at Yang Chen with a hint of coquettishness.

Yang Chen had no choice but to compromise, "Okay, Rose, I was wrong. I just happen to like my current life, and I don't plan on changing jobs for now."

Rose persisted, "Well then, how about being my bodyguard instead of a nanny? Or maybe you could come to the bar and be in charge. I rarely come out to manage it myself anyway."

Hearing these words, Yang Chen felt a bit touched. He knew that this woman in front of him truly cared for him. However, he had his own stance. From the moment he met Rose, he had made up his mind not to get too close to this woman.

"Forget it, Rose. I think selling lamb skewers is just fine. There are plenty of good people in the market." Yang Chen lowered his head and drank water, not wanting to discuss this topic any further.

Rose saw that Yang Chen was stubborn, and she wrinkled her nose at him while muttering a curse that even she could barely hear, "It would be better if you were my man..."

She didn't know that even she couldn't hear this sentence clearly, but Yang Chen could. However, he knew that he had to pretend that he didn't hear anything.

Although Rose's face and figure emitted an irresistible charm and allure in the bar, even in dim lighting, no one dared to linger after seeing her. Some new customers would be curious and ask those around them who Rose was, but the response was always the same - "Drink your drink, don't look for trouble."

Feeling a bit defeated, Rose walked around the bar counter and sat beside Yang Chen. She poured herself a glass of whiskey and then poured a glass for Yang Chen as well. She glared at him, "You stubborn old ox. But, it's my birthday today, can you make an exception and have a drink with me?"

Yang Chen hesitated. He actually knew how to drink, but every time he did, the alcohol would create chaotic thoughts in his brain, things he didn't want to think about. So, he needed to stay sober. For him, alcohol was poison...

"Fine, but just one glass." With a tinge of guilt, Yang Chen didn't want to make Rose feel too cold, so he agreed in the end. He hoped that one small glass wouldn't have too much of an effect.

Rose burst into laughter, her smile as radiant as the first snow after winter. In the dim light, her face glowed with an ivory-like luster, which made Yang Chen's heart tremble.

"Cheers," Yang Chen said as he lifted his glass and drank the ice-cold liquid without hesitation.

Rose giggled and leaned forward, pressing against Yang Chen's chest. She whispered with a hint of orchids in her breath, "Do you know that I haven't celebrated my birthday in over a decade? Even though there's no cake, no candles, no gifts, and no party... but having you, this uninhibited man, accompany me for a drink makes me feel satisfied."

From every angle, the woman's figure was alluringly voluptuous, and at that moment, Yang Chen distinctly felt two soft and elastic mounds pressing against his thighs. In the process of touching them, he experienced an intense thrill.

With a slight bow, the split in Rose's cheongsam revealed her porcelain-white skin, and her shapely calves were adorned with a pair of bright red high heels, which triggered a strong visual impact and fiercely aroused Yang Chen's masculine hormones.

When a man sees a woman, the most direct evaluation of her is his hormonal and adrenal reaction. Clearly, Rose scored high in that regard.

Just as Yang Chen struggled to suppress his desire, Rose finally sat up straight and gave him a sly smile, like a fox that had just succeeded in its plot. "Okay, my little man, it seems that you have considerable resources..."

Yang Chen forced a bitter smile, knowing exactly what Rose meant. This woman even probed him while getting close to him.

"I think you can't sit still any longer. I'll go entertain the guests, and if you don't want to stay any longer, you can leave," Rose said nonchalantly as she left her seat and walked toward the crowd of guests.

The guests in the bar knew well that the owner, Rose, was alluring and captivating, but they dared not make any inappropriate moves. They had heard long ago that she had a complicated background. So when Rose greeted the guests, she appeared relaxed.

In fact, although Rose's face was full of warmth and enthusiasm, her extraordinary aura was enough to make most men feel intimidated, and the idea of approaching her was daunting. So no one dared to be foolish.

When Rose walked away, Yang Chen let out a sigh of relief. At the same time, he mocked himself. He had really changed a lot in the past half year since he had returned to this land. If it had been before, when faced with a woman like Rose who was soul-stirring and interested in him, he would have thrown her on the bed a long time ago. He didn't care about the consequences as long as he left afterward. However, now he couldn't do that, especially since Rose was the first woman he could call a friend in Zhonghai, and she was important to him.

Although he had only had a small cup of alcohol, the alcohol was already affecting his brain. Yang Chen felt that his alcohol addiction had been aroused, but he didn't dare to drink too much. Only he knew the pain of having scattered thoughts and daydreaming after drinking.

However, looking at his helpless tent that had risen below, Yang Chen felt that he needed to release some emotions. Otherwise, he would really be suffocated. Of course, finding Rose was not an option. Once he established a relationship with her, it would be difficult to get out.

After drinking a glass of water, Yang Chen quietly left the ROSE bar. As he left, Rose, who had been silently observing him, flashed a hint of disappointment in her eyes.

After leaving the bar, Yang Chen observed his surroundings and finally walked into a nearby small bar. Although upscale bars had more prey, Yang Chen's pockets were not enough to pay for their services.

Since he wanted to live like a normal person, he had to pay for a prostitute.
