Chapter 48 - Unexpected  Guest

Ram then spent half a year in the secret world and focused on his cultivation and plan of action after leaving the village. After half a year, he got up and got ready to leave the secret world.

"STATUS"

Name: Ram

Talent: 9

Bloodline: Human

Body: Elemental

Level 2 (beginner)

Universe Cultivation, Supreme Truth Eyes

Items: Divine Shankh, Forgiveness, Void Mask

Mission: Stay in the village for a month.

Reward: Lucky draw

Even after spending half a year, I still can't get into intermediate Level 2. This universe cultivation is really something; I now need way more prana energy than any normal Level 2 beginner would need.

Ram shook his head in dismay and left the world.

…..

In Rudra World.

In the early morning, Ram came to the chief's house after meeting him. He signed the contract of deal he had discussed earlier, and after getting the things he would need from the chief, he exited the village and met Hanu waiting for him at the village gate.

"Hello."

Hanu responded with a nod and just remained silent.

After some seconds of silence.

"Are you waiting for something?"

"Yes."

Hanu responded and went silent again.

Ram could guess that it might be because of the plan he had discussed with the chief, but Hanu's response to him was cold. Ram tried to make some small talk with him, but after seeing that he was not interested, he got silent and felt silence was also good.

After some time, someone exited the village.

Hanu looked at the man coming towards them and said,

"What took you so long?"

"I woke up late."

Wow, it's a very important thing we are going for, and this dude was sleeping." "At least he should have made some better-sounding excuse, Ram thought while looking at the person.

Ram was sure he had never met him before; he was in his early twenties with a dusky complexion and an average height. The only thing that made him stand out was that he had eyes without a pupil; they were all white. If this person wasn't walking properly and looking in their direction, Ram would have thought that he might be blind because of the way his eyes looked.

"Let's go; we are getting late."

Hanu responded coldly and started to walk ahead, while Ram and the eye guy followed behind.

"Hello, who might you be? I haven't seen you before."

"I am Ram. I just came to the village a month ago. and you are?"

"Me, I am a citizen here. I am surprised you don't know me."

Ram looked at him closely, expecting him to continue, but he didn't.

"Mr. celebrity, who are you, and what exactly do you do?"

The other guy, while walking, turned towards Ram and saw that he was seriously asking.

"I thought you were joking, but I see you are really clueless."

"My name is Prakhar, and my job is to maintain healthy relations between the village 'one' and all the neighbouring settlements."

"So, what exactly do you do to maintain the relationship?"

"I travel everywhere and talk to them and pass on the information from here to there. This is what I do."

Hmm.. Ram nodded

While Prakhar continued.

"I had been travelling for the last few months, so that's why we haven't met; otherwise, everyone knows me."

"Yes, maybe. "But just because you travel doesn't make you a celebrity, so how would I have known?"

Prakhar smiled and replied,

"Actually, it's not my work that makes me a celebrity, but my looks. "Everywhere I go, I attract crowds; they just love looking at my eyes."

Ram nodded in understanding; he could guess as it was also the same on earth: when ever something out of the ordinary appeared, most people would flood towards it out of herd mentality.

"So don't you feel bothered when they gather around you and stare at you?"

"Why would it? I just play along and say that these eyes are because of my birth, and it is because of these eyes that I can look into the future."

Ram looked at Prakhar closely and said

"Can you actually see the future?"

"Nope, but my eyes with my statement make everyone believe it, and this way I sometimes get to hold girls hands while saying I am looking at their future."

Prakhar said this and winked at Ram.

Ram, after hearing all the crap, gave a thumbs up in approval and increased his pace while leaving Prakhar behind, and he gradually caught up with Hanu.

"Hey, I know you don't like the plan, but you should trust me that this is for the betterment of everyone."

"Yes, I don't like the plan, and I do trust you, not because of who you are but because the chief trusts you."

"So are we just going to travel by foot, or is there some cart or something?"

This was what Ram felt concerned about; he just felt too lazy to walk all the way to the wood village, and he didn't even know where this village was.

Before Hanu could respond, Prakhar interjected and said

"You are definitely a rookie; do you even know where the wood village is?"

"I know, I know."

"Really, where is it?" Prakhar enquired.

Ram looked towards Prakhar and, with a straight face, said

"It's a neighbouring village. So it's in the neighbourhood."

Prakhar and Hanu both stopped and looked at Ram as if they had just seen the ghost.

"Okay, I agree. I don't know the exact location, but can you stop staring at me like that?"

There was no reply, and Hanu and Prakhar kept staring at him, and then Ram noticed something: they were not staring at him but behind him. He had a very bad feeling, and he slowly turned around, and what he saw shook his soul for a second.

It was not that Hanu and Prakhar stared at Ram as if they had seen a ghost, but in reality, there were ghosts behind Ram.

"The hell."

Ram took a step back while looking at the ghosts in the trees. Then he observed his surroundings, and he saw that ghosts were everywhere around him.
