Chapter 41 - The Arrival of Mysterious Merchants

At the entrance of the village.

"Village chief, you seem to be interested in that kid." "What's so special about him?"

an elder standing beside him asked.

"That kid is different; I can't put a finger on what it is, but I have a feeling that being in good relations with him will be beneficial to all of us."

"Is it also why you were ready to allot a person to manage his stall?"

"No, actually, the products in his stalls are of good quality, and I am sure you also know of this."

"Yes, the products are good, but it's not like we haven't seen a better-quality product before."

The village chief turned towards the elder and said,

"You should know that it has only been one month since he entered the village, and the products he is selling today are an evolved version of his previous products. Above that, when he came, he was not a cultivator, but today he is Level 2, so reaching this level in one month, you understand what it means."

The elder was visibly shaken after hearing this; now he understood why the village chief was ready to build a friendly relationship with him.

Ting, ting, ting...

There was an immediate bell sound heard, and the village chief along with other people looked towards the sound, and it was visible that more than 10 bullock carts were coming towards the village.

Bulls tied to the cart didn't look normal no matter how one looked at them; the size of the bull was twice what it could be seen on earth.

After some time, the carts stopped in front of the village, and a person from the first cart stepped down and walked towards the village. This person was wearing a black cloak that covered his entire body, with a sign of Rudransh written in small fonts throughout the cloth. No feature of this person was visible, and if observed closely, there was some kind of stealth technique being used to cover his face. It was not only this person, but every person on every cart had the same look, and no one could see any feature of them.

"Greetings, "How are you all doing?"

"We are all good, and what about you?"

"Good, good"

"Village chief, you don't need to come to the entrance to meet us; we feel burdened by the politeness."

"It's my job to look after the village, and I am healthy and young."

"Hahah… Yes, yes"

"So let's go to the main office and complete the monthly tax collection."

"Yes, let's go."

"By the way, village chief, is there anything special you want to trade with or any new goods in the market?"

"You will be surprised."

The village chief smiled and asked the merchant to follow.

Just the statement of being surprised by the village chief peaked his interest, but he kept it out of his mind and asked the other merchants to follow the security personnel of the village and enter the market to trade.

…..

In the market.

Ram just closed his eyes and observed his breath while thinking deeper about all that took place earlier today. After some time, he heard some disturbance, opened his eyes, and saw Hanu's brothers entering along with mysterious merchants and the bullock cart.

He had stopped being shocked every time he saw something new and out of place, but he still felt the bulls were definitely not simple, and as for the mysterious merchants, after hearing the story of their boss destroying the emperor and empire within a day, thinking of them as some simple person would be the most idiotic thing.

He admired their clothes and look, and out of habit, he wanted to use the Supreme Truth Eyes to decipher their information, but stopped himself. He remembered what the village chief said about taking it as a threat or a challenge. He felt the boss might not even need to take action to finish him; the bulls were enough to take him down. So he humbled himself and stood at his stall quietly.

"This world is crazy; I need to be careful," he kept reminding himself.

He saw that no matter how small the stall or how low quality the product was, the mysterious merchants went to every one and spent time to trade, and even products as basic as clothes were being bought by the merchants.

He observed a little more and got his answer: it wasn't that the mysterious merchants were buying everything; they were only providing the cost for any good available, and the cost was actually a little less than what they were selling on any other day. And every trader could bargain or refuse to trade if they wished to.

The merchants then moved ahead, and after some time, one merchant came in front of Ram's stall.

"Hello, young man, are all the goods for the trade or only a select few?"

The merchant came directly to the point while skipping any basic greeting formalities, and if asked, Ram would usually prefer this, but today he had an instant mission to fulfil, so he wanted to get a little closer to the merchant.

"All the goods are for trade, but I would like to barter; is it possible?"

"Yes, it is possible." "What is it you want in exchange?"

"If you don't mind, first let's see the products and determine their value, then we will talk about the barter products."

"Hahah… Yes, let's do that first."

"Show me your products."

Ram then picked up a life-size tiger from behind him and put it in front of the merchant.

The merchant saw the product for some time, then, as if to fully understand it, he waved his hand, and out of thin air, a tablet-like thing appeared.

Ram saw this, and he immediately recognised that it was not out of thin air but from a storage ring on the merchant's hand. Though he could not see the hands of the merchant, he was still a cultivator of space law, so he knew it was stored in a ring on his hand.

Then the merchant took that tablet and started to scan the life-size lion for some time. Then he stopped his action and looked up at Ram.

He was surprised by the product displayed just now, and only one thing appeared in his mind: how can this village have a product that can help in deciphering the law? This product was made entirely by the elemental prana and had the law of elements embedded in it.
