Chapter 7 - Past-life Grudge

"Host, there are many types of cultivation. You need to figure out what works best for you. As for how you would get in touch with cultivation techniques, the host needs to explore that on its own."

Ram was speechless. whenever something important came up. It was always him who needed to figure it out.

"Hello!"

A young man at the entrance of the house approached Ram.

This man, if he were in his home town, would have been a wrestler or a bodybuilder; he was tall, maybe more than 7 feet, and had a little beard and moustache along with a robust physique. He looked like someone Ram would not want to get too close to. If, by any chance, he offended this person, Ram was sure he wouldn't need more than a slap to be knocked out.

The young man smiled and said,

"I have been sent by the village chief to bring food. "Where can I place it?"

Ram invited the man into the house. A young man entered the house, kept the food near the floor mat, opened his bag from his back, and removed some clothes and a quilt for the night.

"These are all sent by the village chief. You can change into these clothes and use this quilt at night; the temperature here at night can sometimes change drastically.

Ram nodded and thanked him while the young man left the house politely.

Ram changed into the simple-looking kurti and pyjamas (Comfortable Indian wear). He couldn't help but praise the clothes. "These are really good quality and much more comfortable."

He sat and had a meal of simple rice and rajma with onions, and after the meal he blacked out.

...….

cock-a-doodle-do

Ram opened his eyes and saw his surroundings for a while.

"What? I just slept. how tired I was to fall asleep immediately."

Ram looked around and saw the floor mat and food utensils near by.

"Oh, so I was not dreaming. I am really in another world. Well, let's begin the new day and go with the flow for now."

Ram got up and walked to the washroom, had a shower, changed into the same kurti dress, and came to his courtyard, facing the rising sun.

He did his yoga exercise for 30 minutes, followed by the basic breathing exercise for 30 minutes, and then the meditation. These were his daily morning habits he had developed while living his old life. Though he didn't have the watch, he knew how much time it usually took to complete his daily morning routine.

Ding.

"Host, you have unlocked some features on status; kindly check."

Ram, though surprised, called out the status window.

STATUS

Name: Ram

Age - 21

Talent: None

Bloodline: Human

Level: None

Mission: Stay in the village for a month.

Reward: All the locked statuses on the window will open, and the status window will have further detailed information about the host.

"What is this system?"

"My level, I understand, is none, but why is my talent none as well?"and Bloodline is human. I am human. I know, so what's the point of this slot?"

Ram inquired about the changes in the status window.

"Host, there are many types of bloodlines, even in humans." Bloodlines can even evolve under certain circumstances; as for talent, you have none because you haven't started the cultivation journey."

Ram nodded while listening to the system. While the system continued.

"Once you select your cultivation type, the compatibility between the cultivation technique and host will distinguish the talent, and the talent can also be upgraded under certain circumstances."

"So you mean to say nothing is fixed; anything can change under the circumstances?"

"Yes, Host, nothing is fixed and everything can change, but do not take the circumstances that help evolve the status to be normal everyday things. These circumstances are to be earned and worked upon."

"How do I earn those circumstances?"

"The host needs to figure this out on his own."

Ram - "…"

Ram became speechless and thought that whenever he asked for the important things, it was always about figuring it out on your own.

Ram felt the system might have some kind of past-life grudge against him.
