"Amber," a voice whispered,
"Amber where are you?" It was the same voice, whisper shouting.
It must be a maid, searching for someone.
I stood up from the bench not wanting to get caught.
The Kirin whined staring at me with its big eyes. "I have to go." the Kirin stood and made circles around me, not wanting to let me go.
It stood on its hind legs as if it wanted me to cradle her.
Sighing at its cuteness, I reached down and pulled it into my hands, it snuggled in my arms its scales shimmering in the moonlight.
As I reached out to stroke its scales, the Kirin nuzzled against my hand, and I felt a surge of warmth and happiness.
That is when a figure appeared from behind the trees, "amber" the figure shouted.
I stood frozen. Who could it be?
When the figure saw me, it also froze, it was a girl.
She looked barely older than 12.
First, she looked at me, her eyes widened, as she stood staring at me.
Then her eyes found the Kirin in my hands and her eyes widened further. I never thought it was possible for such wide eyes to exist.
"Amber!" the girl exclaimed. She looked like she was ready to sprint near me and take the Kirin out of my hands, but she stopped staring at me warily. "Who are you?" she asked. "And how did you find amber?" she asked, her voice filled with authority.
I was going to say that I was Arianna when I stopped myself.
I was not Arianna anymore.
And from the way she was dressed she was someone with power. I might be a princess in Aradia, but here I am just an apprentice.
I bowed my head, "I am Thea, I am an apprentice who joined the wizards tower today." I said carefully choosing my words I don't want her to report me to the guards.
"This garden is restricted for people other than approved by the king." she said.
"I am sorry, but I lost my way as this is my first day here. And found amber. So feed her a few bites of my fruit." I said hoping that I look as innocent as I want to look.
I handed amber to the young girl, amber looked at me lazily, it looks like she is feeling sleepy after eating.
"Why do you always run away from me?" the young girl asked Amber.
Then tuning to me she said, "i did not lost her, she just ran away." she said.
"of course." I said fighting a smile.
"Do you know who I am?" the girl asked, to which I shook my head.
"I am princess Alyssa the youngest princess of the kysoria." she said. I bowed again.
I should have known she looked really pretty, and her attire was fit for a princess.
"You are good with animals." she commented, "is it because you are a witch?" Princess Alyssa asked.
"I do not know princess. I always found that I was good with the creatures around me."
"And you are also really pretty." she commented, which took me by surprise.
"If you say so, princess." I replied. This is how the maids in my palace used to talk. I should make sure not to aggravate her as I don't know her nature.
She came forward, sitting on the bench that I was earlier on.
"Did you saw my older brother, Prince Cyrus?" she asked, I frowned not knowing why she was asking me that.
"no, your highness." I replied, "may I inquire, why you are asking me that."
"He is the most handsome person in all of the kysoria. No, no, he is most handsome person in the whole world." she said, making me smile. "And I am searching a bride for him. Someone who is just as pretty."
I looked at her confused as to why that would involve me.
"And you are the only girl who I have found who looked beautiful enough." she said as my mouth hung open.
I bit my lip to stop myself from laughing out loud.
"i am just an apprentice, your highness. I don't think I will be a fit for prince Cyrus."
