Slowly the pair walked over to a mossy, rickety, carelessly built bridge that seemed to be rotting. As the river continued to drag him closer to an old wooden hut. As the river opened the door with a creek his nose filled with the smell of dust. The two of them walked with all eyes on them and were met by four figures, Forest leaned on one of the rotting pillars and three others.
A tall muscular male with broad shouldered with red shirt and black cargo pants. He looked like he was just in his twenties with overgrown, messy brown hair, gunmetal blue eyes and acne healing skin.
In front of him a short woman also in her twenties with shoulder length dirty blond hair, big bug like brown eyes and pale skin. She had a thin white shirt under a black hooded jumper and beige camo pants.
Next to her was another female. She was younger looking with a rounder face shorter but muscular with pale skin and jet-black hair and bright blue eyes. Her grey shirt was cropped, and multiple size too small and black pants ripped.
"Took you long enough," said forest pushing off the wall he was leaning on walking next to the other leaders of the dome.
"Wow you weren't lying he really is the only one," the other male said confusing jasper.
"I told ya so," forest said
"I'm head male here Kai" the man said with a friendly smile.
"And I'm Ivy. Lead female and this is my second in command Cave" she said pointing over to the girl next to her who gave jasper a single nod
"Jasper" he said trying to sound confident but failing miserably.
"Already remember you name I see," said Kai
"No shit," said forest.
"Well welcome jasper to the dome," said ivy "he's all your boys," as she and the other girl left with river leaving the three boys alone.
"Anyways you're with us," said kai "stick with forest can you show you around"
"Hell no. why do I have to," said forest
"Well, he already knows you a bit and I need to do one more round before the night" replied kai
"Fine," forest mumbled before dragging jasper out "we're goanna to do the tour and after that we'll get dinner. I'm assuming river gave you the run down?"
"yep" jasper replied
"So, any questions ask now" asked forest. breaking the peaceful feeling jasper once had the question started to fill his head again. He had so many he couldn't figure out which one so he when for a simple one.
"Where are we?" Jasper asked.
"Well, this place is the male half the dome" forest said bored like he had said the same thing a hundred times before.
"Male half?" jasper asked
"Yep, the dome is divided into males and female. works better and keeps the place running" forest said. Making jasper think.
"'works better' wouldn't it be easier to tried working all together" jasper asked
"Yea we tried at the start once more people came it lasted a week" forest said making jasper feel stupid realizing this is a place filled with hormonal teenagers with no adults.
"So why are we here?" Jasper asked. Thinking There must be a reason someone would do this
"Do you think we fucking know. all of us have are memories wiped like you" forest said. Again, making jasper feel stupid Of Couse they don't know
"Oh, so who put us here?" jasper asking
"Some assholes again we don't know" forest said
"So, when did this start?" jasper asked
"When what start," forest asked looking at jasper
"All of it like when people started coming here" jasper asked
"Oh, about five years ago" forest replied
"When did you come here?" jasper asked
"Five years ago," forest said
"Wow that long so did you get some of your memories back" jasper asked completely forgetting about rivers warning until it was too late, and the question left is mouth.
"yea" forest replied. Oh, so he's comfortable talking about the memories like river jasper thought.
"So, what do you remember" he asked before forest head snapped towards jasper giving him a dirty a look never mind, he isn't comfortable
"I'm 15 my last name is woods and had a brother jack who's named after my mother's favourite tree the jacaranda tree," forest replied before going into an unbearable silence the tension so thick you could cut it with a knife. Jasper thinking of a way to comfort his friend. Was he a friend?
"Oh, sorry I thought you didn't have any personal memories since you seem so chill about it. But like river said at least you have something to look forward to when. If we get out and-" jasper started
"Their dead" forest said. Shocking Jasper but before he could say anything else he continued "no more questions let hurry I'll explain stuff on the walk" he said speeding up.
"Oh, I'm so sorry" jasper said
"Anyway, so these are the fields they go up couple more yards up" forest said pointing toward the fields with different plants some jasper identified as tomatoes and grape vines "and this way is the sleeping quarters" he continued pointing at a large shack "though most of the boys sleep elsewhere in hammock instead of having roommates. Behind the sleeping hut is the shower and if you continue down to the river is the slaughter room and barn," he finished turning to jasper. "So today we'll have a bonfire then you'll sleep tomorrow you'll go to the meeting hut, and you'll chose a job to tryout got it?" forest said
"yep" jasper replied processing the information as forest started to walk away.
before forest started to go too far jasper yelled out "where do I go?"
"I don't know introduce yourself to people. talk? you'll know when dinner is," he said running back to the bridge
