Chapter 42 - CHAPTER FORTY TWO: I Wish...

Hearing her sound as she fell on the water, Zhong Guiying smiled but in her surprise, Zhao Lun Ying pushed her away and tried to rescue Long Shao Yan before the teacher came and sent a rope for her to use. Looking at her, Zhong Guiying frowned, she did not expect her to actually get rescued that easily. That evening, both parents of Zhong Guiying and Long Shao Yan were actually called. As expected, her father was far too busy to make it. Looking at her, Lin Leizu, her mother slapped her hard making her fall to the ground before she ordered to get a bucket of water where she dunked her head countless times.

She had grabbed her hair ruthlessly without caring whether it hurt or not. Lin Leizu hated being humiliated and that daughter of hers actually knew her to annoy her more. The teachers tried to stop her but, Lin Leizu wouldn't listen. Water actually entered her nose as she was caught off guard and tried to struggle furiously but the hand holding her hair was extremely strong; such that it felt as if her scalp was about to be torn off as well. She only cried silently as she recalled it was her mother who was doing that.

Slowly, she was deprived of air, and the feeling of suffocation made her lose hope. She knew her mother very well, she wouldn't stop until she got what she wanted. Just as she was about to fall unconscious, her mother pulled her out and left her breath some more. She had actually wondered why her mother had done so, wasn't she supposed to protect her? Her pupils dilated and as she was about to get used to normal breathing, her head was dunked back inside before she could react. Three times in a row.

And then afterwards, her mother pulled her out. She struggled to breath like a fish that had just been returned into the water. Pulling her close to her by her hair, her mother stated, "You need to behave, I let you suffer what Long Shao Yan had to go through because of you. Just know that choices have consequences." That was before she let her go and stood up. Looking at Long Shao Yan's parents, Lin Leizu stated loudly, " Kneel down and apologize right now!"

Upon hearing her mother's orders, Zhong Guiying feared that if she dared to disobey she would have suffered more and so she scrambled on the ground and knelt before the family, placing her head on the top of her hands which were on the floor, Zhong Guiying apologized, "I am sorry for that, I will never do it again," her voice shivered because of the cold.

While glaring at her, Long Shao Yan's mother stated, "Never get near my daughter again or you will bear the consequences!" Hearing that, Zhong Guiying promised to stay away from Long Shao Yan. "I will never get near her again, I promise and if I break my promise, I will offer myself as a slave to you!" Zhong Guiying stated as she stood up.

Upon hearing her sentence, everyone in the room went silent, including Lin Leizu. What was she saying? Was she mad? To her, it was better living like a slave instead in a loveless family. Although she had knelt before her, Zhong Guiying actually felt nothing as long as she had achieved what she wanted.

"How dare you humiliate me!" Lin Leizu hissed as she slapped Zhong Guiying who actually held her cheek, her nanny tried to calm down her mother but failed and all maid servants were sent outside. It was late at night and they were just about to have dinner which was actually on the table. Looking at her mother, Zhong Guiying's stare didn't waver, she actually felt contented.

She knew very well that no matter how much she tried, their loveless family would not change anyhow. So, she did not need to to anything else actually. Looking at her, her mother stood up and walked to the dining table. She picked up her bowl of rice and vegetables and threw it to the ground. It landed and cracked into pieces leaving the soup, rice and vegetables everywhere on the ground. The soup flowed freely on the ground. Looking at her food, Zhong Guiying hardened her stare at her mother.

"I wish I could have given birth to a son, at least he would bring me glory and wealth, but you, what can you actually bring if not for shame?" Her mother asked as she sat down looking at her daughter.
