Chapter 21 - CHAPTER TWENTY ONE: The Incident.

Prince Ju Zihan could not help but take another look at her. She might have been a big overweight, but her eyes were as clear as the wide ocean and she had a poise about her. Even if she got to know that he was Prince Ju Zihan, she had maintained her composure while greeting him. This behaviour of hers was different from that of the usual noble girls of the city. She was quite unlike how the rumours flying around the town had described her. Interesting! Chow Yi Nuo's unusual reaction did not go unnoticed by Crown Prince Jun Yuanchao, who was a bit surprised as well. Yet that feeling went away in a moment.

Crown Prince Jun Yuanchao had wanted to cancel his engagement with Zhong Kexin for a long time and that day was the final chance that he had. He had to do it so as to please Zhong Guiying who wanted to marry him. He had seen his love for her was true rather than childhood stupidity that had made him and Zhong Kexin get engaged. He could not possibly give up the idea because of her slightly better behaviour. During the few past years, he had been mocked enough due to his engagement with Zhong Kexin. He was the crown prince of Jia Kingdom, and had all the rights to marry a good wife to be his crown Princess. Why must be marry that hideous girl of all the beautiful girls in the kingdom of Jia? Obviously, he had forgotten of how he had almost lost his life if not for Zhong Kexin who has rescued him from the galloping horse.

.........

The incident:

The sun was shining bright from the sky. It's rays pierced the hot sky. Little Zhong Kexin who was in a brightly coloured yellow silk Han Fu dress with flowers and fruits embroidered on it stood in the middle of the marketplace, awestruck by the advanced infrastructure and the numerous shop houses that lined up on the lively streets. Her hair had been done in two buns with pretty butterfly head hairpins attached onto the buns. She had been eating candied Hawthorn berries which her mother had bought for her and left her because she needed to buy some groceries and the shop was crowded so she had to leave her because of her safety. The other little kids were playing with balls, flying kites or simply chasing each other on the busy roads. Horses sometimes passed by as they galloped very fast. The mass of the people bustling around the place was astounding. Shop owners were shouting the prices of their products loudly as the hawkers peddled their wares very nicely on the streets as they looked for potential customers. The aromas of different types of foods filled the air, making the hungry drool. She even stood and watched as a couple of men pulled their carts and shouted at others to move out of their way.

People dressed in different coloured clothes brushed past her, seeming not to care if they knocked into her shoulders while in the process. But she was far too engrossed in studying the structures there. Foreign, but equally fascinating.
