Chapter 168 - 7. Nyt loppuu todellisuus. (The Reality ends now.)

Nick, Elias, and Rebecca also informed Bran, whose attitude was that Mimi wasn't getting off the boat. We'll catch them when we do, but now the vampires are supposed to come to the meeting again.

They went to meet another pair of werewolves but were surprised to find a pair of vampires and Bran. Bran gave permission, so they offered the vampires a drink, and after that, Mimi was no problem. Everything would be fine.

The originals went off with the other vampires, and Bran was happy. There's no problem here. Now, he'd get an excellent reputation among the vampires. Sometimes, you just had to sacrifice for the greater good, and Bran was sure Mimi would understand that eventually.

He would then take Mimi as his wife and mate, and they would have a werewolf wedding. After all, there was only a week left of the cruise, and there was still so much negotiating to do. Mimi didn't need to have anyone to support her now but him.

Bran thought he would keep Adam busy, and Bran himself would be with Mimi because Mimi would need protection from Sark; of course, Mimi would have to get in shape first. And that Mimi wasn't okay was, in Bran's mind, an advantage.

He imagined in his mind taking care of her, wiping her brow, making her trust him when she was most vulnerable and weak. But Bran didn't really know what kind of patient Mimi was in general. The truth is sometimes even more terrible than the fable when it comes to Mimi being a patient.

But Bran had already been disappointed. None of the vampires Brianna had promised him wanted anything to do with him, and he realized he'd been duped, but since vampires couldn't be trusted in the slightest way, maybe that was just as well.

He would come to make things right with Mimi and help her with her network. Bran didn't want to destroy the network. He also hated the evil medical facilities, but he manipulated people around him a lot, and then it didn't always work out the way he wanted it to, as he found out himself. But what kind of reputation would he get if he became part of a resistance movement to save and help?

Oh, that he couldn't wait. Mimi would get to do the gigs, but he could then be the leader so Mimi wouldn't have to, and how good that Adam was properly involved so that he could use that in the job, too. Bran just imagine what kind of saviour reputation he would get and then all the shapeshifters and the likes of Fae would come forward, co-operate under his guidance. Bran was looking for power, especially influence, and he had always liked to manipulate everyone covertly.

Still, there was another within Bran who was also interested in this opportunity, but his intentions were not so good. This one had been inside Bran for centuries, thousands even, ever since Bran went into that cave. He'd been in the cave waiting, and one of the rabid, crazed werewolves had been an easy target for him. It was not yet time to act. There was balance, and if he would make his moves, his counterpart could get more advantages, and that was something that he didn't want. Bran did not know evil within him, influencing him sometimes. And also that this evil had its very own plans for Mimi.

Adam tried looking for Mimi everywhere, and he just couldn't find her. He went to see what was going on with Bran to see if he could sense her. But Bran was at the club having drinks with the werewolves.

Adam went over and asked, "Bran, have you found Mimi? Did the originals tell you what happened, Sark and the divorce and so on?"

Bran nodded and said, "Mimi's on a boat. She's not going anywhere. It's unfortunate that Damon got divorced, but he's a vampire and they're pretty fickle, but we have to help Mimi. The originals went the way of the other vampires. There's no reason to have high expectations. Adam, think about Mimi at the fight club. There could be possibilities, but you have to make sure she's in good shape first. Think of the reputation she'll bring to the pack and how she's going to be desirable partner material. You never know who Mimi will take. Now that she's had a couple of heat and is fully mature, she might even want to start a family. We have to take care of Mimi then and see that she will then have a more reliable partner."

Bran was in his way getting drunk, and he liked to talk then. Not everything that Bran said sounded very good to Adam. He was thinking about Mimi and her future. How can he help her through that heartache once Mimi would be healthy and fine? Adam knew something about relationships and their problems, but helping a woman overcome the loss of a true soulmate to another woman was something that Adam knew nothing about. But he swore in his mind that he would do absolutely everything in order to help Mimi recover and move on.

Adam sighed. If Bran thought like that, there was nothing to be done about it, and he wasn't about to put Mimi on the market himself; he'd rather have her as his partner. Bran seemed to drink his troubles away, and Adam had a hunch in the pit of his stomach that Bran was somehow involved in the whole damn thing, and what could he do?

It was now his job to be Mimi's protector, helper, and maybe a mate. Adam realized that for the first time since Mercy's death, he was seriously considering a genuine relationship with Mimi, not just the little pussies he'd used in the past. And now was his chance.

Mimi was free. Damon had really broken her heart, and whatever Sark had done to Mimi had driven her to a terrible place, and he now had the chance to be her savior, lover, and maybe husband. Already, different wedding venues were flashing through his mind. He would like to have a proper, formal white wedding with Mimi, and he would be the faithful, perfect husband.

Adam said, "I'll try to keep an eye on Mimi, OK?"

Adam was getting frustrated. It was as if they had never parted under the Marrok. Bran nodded casually. He continued to drink some more. Adam watched as Bran ordered more of the strong drinks meant for werewolves, and it was obvious Bran was trying to drown his sorrows.

Adam went looking for Mimi. It wasn't easy. He wandered around for a while. The ship was enormous and crowded. Adam made his way to the head of security, briefly explained the situation, and gave instructions on what to do if he saw Mimi, preferably to inform her and stay at a distance.

He watched the security camera footage and saw Damon and Brianna walking down the hallway, kissing and Mimi coming out of the Sark's cabin. He saw Damon talking to Mimi, slapping her in the face after Mimi had right about raped Damon. And Adam saw Mimi give in to the madness that was tormenting her.

Adam Saw Brianna's face; there was a flash of recognition when she saw Sark. That was not good. If Brianna was involved with Sark so, then Adam knew he must protect Mimi fully from Damon. He called his friend and made sure that Salvatore was not getting any houses without his orders, and he also made sure that Salvatore got a note about the prenup and cancellation of his status as Mimi's guardian and doctor. Now there was no way that Brianna could use Damon and get Mimi.

Adam cursed to himself, but not out loud. He was a professional now, and he controlled his temper then. On the other hand, he would have wanted to go after Sark, but then again, all the glimpses he had seen on the recording had been telling enough to make Mimi a real priority number one.

Mimi couldn't stand still. She moved at vampire speed from place to place, talked to people, even attacked them, but didn't actually do any harm to anyone. Adam agreed with the security people that any sightings of Mimi would come directly to him, and he would now go to the upper deck where Mimi was last seen.

He'd gotten Damon's supplies into his cabin, including an enormous pile of jars of strong black velvet, so he loaded a few milliliters into the syringe, hoping the dose would work at least a little if he could get the Mimi to settle down, even a little.

Bran couldn't be bothered with the Mimi yet. He had let Adam go and investigate this. Sure, he had his own ideas about it, but it didn't matter when he had to drink away the bitterness; somehow, he realized he didn't deserve Mimi; he had separated her from her soul mate, but what was done was done.

There was no going back, and the bitter chalk when he realized Brianna had lied to him from the start, but he was cowardly enough to go and face her. The original brothers had refused to cooperate with Brianna, so they wouldn't have helped either as they didn't want to attack her and now the Salvatore that was under Brianna. So he had to get over it. He'd had so much to drink, strong enough drinks that he was getting drunk, and the next stress relief would be to fuck. No emotion, just pleasure. There were some nice-looking girls out there to get to know.

I wandered along the ship, my mind wandering restlessly from series to series, holding a wound in my soul that I didn't know or care about. Still, every scene that came to mind was always loss, sadness, separation, death, whatever had happened in the series.

I was either Brooke, who had broken up with Ridge and knew she couldn't have him back or I was Meredith Grey, knowing that Derek was back with Addison. Even my scenes were more desperate as I saw my children now lying powerless in my dingy, cheap apartment, barely alive, just able to breathe, and I should just get laid. It wasn't the pleasure I was looking for, just the hope of saving my children.

But the silver made the brain inflammation worse, whipping my metabolism more and more, causing the effects of the other four metals to intensify. My body got worse and worse, my mind went deeper and deeper into the hallucinations of the brain inflammation, and as the days passed, the racking pain eased as my memory and awareness of it faded completely, the inflammation taking over more and more of my mind. But deep down, I knew, I felt that deep wound in my soul, in the place where once was our true soulmate bond had been. The wound that would not heal so easily.

Brianna was happy, they were now officially married and oh that Salvatore was worthy of his reputation in bed. Bedtime had never been so wonderful for Brianna as she had just about said what she wanted done, and she hadn't known the right touch or the right places to touch or insist on touching.

But her husband was an old vampire with centuries of experience with the female body, and oh, how he knew how to give her pleasure, the pleasure she had never experienced, and she was almost addicted to the feeling. But she still had little stamina for bed play, and she always got tired after a few hours, fell asleep, and then was ready to go on.

She used Damon, as so many women before her had, as her sex slave for bedtime, and nothing else mattered except how well Salvatore satisfied her in bed. She didn't change her last name. But he was already planning coronations and vampire weddings. Though the idea of being a virgin again and being taken by Damon was intriguing, she just did not know how drastic it would get.
