The gigs went well. I got to feel over and over again the incredible thrill of killing, of deciding someone's life and death. My vampire side was happy, and I had blood in reserve, so that wasn't a problem. The longer I kept my humanity off, the stronger my vampire side became. My inner beast, my killer side got stronger as well, my dark side.
I had also completed most of the sniping. That feeling when you're in position. You put the rifle in position, adjust everything, look through the scope, see your victim, pull the trigger, and the second or two it takes for the bullet to hit that feeling of power is something incredible. It felt. Moment you see that blood splattering out of the victim. Perfect.
I had a few more of those in Texas, and there were the usual killing sprees. The bad guys and the drug company shitheads were plentiful, and Reddington had been collecting these victims for a long time. And they were all naughty. Distance didn't matter; I had time to drive, even across America. The motorbike was a pleasure to ride, and when I bought a new, nicer version, it was a pleasure to ride.
I got to Texas in a couple of days. I estimate I've been on the road now for about three weeks, if not more. The time didn't matter; I knew autumn was coming. This was August or even September. Nothing bothered or entered my mind.
I didn't miss anyone. Mimosa and I would go full moon running, hunting and Mimosa always drank her blood then. Her prey was important to her vampire side. She was veritable beast as well, usually her prey was pretty mauled.
After my time of searching and choosing, being quite particular about the hotels I stayed in, I found a pleasant hotel suitable for sniping and killing. Most of the killings were concentrated in the same town where the sniper jobs were. This hotel was in an excellent location, the distances were not too great, and the rooms were luxurious.
The sniper gigs were over in a couple of days, and I calculated that I had already made $1.2 million on those gigs, and that's not even including the killing gigs. As I said, there was enough money even though the hotel wasn't cheap, but I still had my few secret identities, including Helen Smith, so I didn't use my own name when I checked into the hotel.
The killing gigs were cool to do because they gave you safe deposit boxes. The safe deposit boxes contained money, shares, jewels, sometimes weapons, and medical samples.
Everything Reddington had got his hands on but had no use for as such. The drug samples would be very important to know what the enemy was up to. I had accumulated quite a pile of safe deposit boxes, and I thought that one day, I should empty them. It might be a good holiday job, but I was still on the prowl. I was killer searching for victims.
Damon drove to Dallas. The pack had a house there, and he left his car there. He knew Mimi was somewhere in Texas, and he needed to eat and rest for a while before he went to see where she was and what the situation was.
Damon ate, then went to bed, and the whole time he was going over in his head how the fuck he was so fucking weak and fucking strangers; then he got drunk and acted like a fucking psychopath, not that Damon didn't have evil tendencies. He thought he had gotten rid of them when he had been with Mimi for two years with no problems.
Then this happened. He knew it was unlikely to be the last time, but he was really drunk, and maybe with time, Mimi would understand. He was prepared to put up with anything as long as she was okay and listened to him.
He would show that it was just sex, just physical pleasure, nothing more. He would prove his feelings to Mimi somehow and maybe they could get married someday, when he hadn't even proposed yet. Damon fell asleep in bed. This was a guest room. Mimi had never been in this house before and he didn't need to make a bedroom here now. He had no definite plan yet. He tried to go by what Mimi was doing and how she reacted.
Damon woke up in the afternoon when he knew Mimi was doing gigs at night and he might have to drive. He activated an app on his phone that showed Mimi's location. Mimi was in Austin, about a good three-hour drive. Damon rented a car and started driving.
He would follow Mimi and see what she was doing, where she was sleeping or resting, what condition she was in and then he would try to connect with her. Talk and try to apologize and make things right, but most of all, Damon hoped he was wrong about Mimi. He arrived in Austin at dusk, activated the app, and saw Mimi on the move. He went to follow.
The woman walked down the street, her long blood-red hair reaching to her waist, and although small, her aura was dangerous. This was not human. This was a beast on the prowl. The woman wore black leather pants, a long black leather jacket, and a short top so that her waist was bare, the woman was slim, lithe, and dangerous. Her high-heeled boots made a sound as she walked with lazy sexiness into one of the bars.
She opened the door, and the smell of tobacco, beer, old booze, and sweat hit her nostrils, but she didn't show a sign of noticing with her actions. Heads turned to watch as a heavily make-up woman walked up to the bar. This one knew how to groom herself.
At the bar was an ordinary-looking man. An older man and his face clearly showed heavy alcohol consumption, but also had a clear stamp of corruption and greed. The man looked at the woman as an object.
The woman motioned the bartender closer and said in a quiet but slightly husky voice, "Tequila sunrise, please." Her voice was accent free, alluring, tempting even hardest of men. Woman had few snow white strands in her hair.
The bartender nodded, and the man next to her wanted to buy her a drink. The woman smiled. The man saw the sharp fangs flash, and his scientific curiosity was aroused. He saw her as a target. strong vampire was needed in his facility. Her blood and her tissues would be very welcome. All he had to do was trap her. He offered to be her meal and give her a liter or two of his blood if she would have sex with him.
She laughed throatily and promised to give him a wonderful ride in the alley. She needed a meal and then they could go to his apartment. She could then pay for her meal. She finished her drink, touched his arm, and stood up. Walked out, sexy, lazy. A lot of guys in the bar were jealous of this one who got to go with her. He followed her to the alley.
Damon watched as Mimi walked into the bar while the entire bar stared at Mimi. How she flirted with the target, actually had a drink. Neither he nor Samuel had even studied the effects of alcohol on Mimi. But he couldn't be a doctor yet.
His fears were genuine, and as he watched Mimi lead her victim into the alley, Mimi's vampire side was enjoying. Damon's vampire side sensed it and the raw pleasure that had flashed in Mimi's eyes as she had killed her victim. Mimi had turned her humanity off. Her darkness, inner beast was out, too.
He was watching her, but not yet revealing himself. He was trying to keep her safe and wondering what the hell he was going to do to get her humanity back on. Normally, you have to make the target feel something physical, and in the past, he had helped quite a few by torturing them, causing enough pain that their humanity snapped back on.
Damon knew what it felt like to have their humanity off, how nothing mattered but blood and raw pleasure. Mimi was clearly on the prowl, and her vampire side was already much stronger than it should have been.
Damon watched Mimi and saw over and over again how she enjoyed herself. He knew it didn't corrupt her in any way, but when she regained her humanity, she might react and loathe the enjoyment even though it's only natural for a vampire to enjoy prey. And that killer side as well. Her very alluring darkness.
He thought of a way to turn her humanity back. His teeth said no solution. He really didn't want to torture Mimi. She'd been through enough pain and then the threat he'd made to her, so no, torture wouldn't be the way. He watched Mimi hiding in the shadows, thinking and analyzing.
I had killed a couple of nights when I noticed someone following me. Damon, I smelled the passionfruit as the wind brought it to my nose and then got this stalker off my back, ruining my pleasure.
It wasn't long before I stopped in an alley and said. "What do you want? Just come out. I know, Damon, you're there. Quit watching me. You're ruining my pleasure."
Damon came to me. "Baby, you've taken your humanity off, and I don't blame you, I really don't, but maybe it's time you put it back on, and I could teach and advise you on vampire stuff, too. I've screwed up and I've screwed up badly. I know it. You wouldn't believe how damn sorry I am. I don't know what got into me. I know you can never forgive. I'm sorry."
His voice was pathetic, pleading almost.
"As far as me being here, I'll protect you. But when it's just physical pleasure with those pussies, I know you heard what I said to them, but I lied. They're supposed to be talked to in a way that gets fucked. I really went almost a year without fucking, and then I crazily went succumbing. "
I looked at Damon for a moment. I felt nothing. My vampire side dissed Damon completely. He wasn't strong; he wasn't dangerous; he was an emotional fool, weak. Emotions and humanity didn't do a damn thing.
I said, "I don't need protection or apologies. I'll get on with my work. Don't follow me anymore. I don't need my humanity. It makes me weak like it makes you weak now. No, it's better this way. No emotions, no problems. "
Damon looked at me for a moment, furrowing his brows and clearly thinking, wanting, or trying to come up with some reason why I should be weak again, to feel.
I turned around and continued on my way. I had victims to kill and lives to take. Then I left the alley and kept going.
Damon cursed. This was not good. Mimi was completely emotionless, completely vampire, and fucking strong already, an Alpha vampire, and that was not good at all. An Alpha vampire is the strongest vampire of all, as Damon himself was, but Mimi's rage and vampire instincts, well, it could be a bloodbath the likes of which the world hadn't seen for a while, and even Stefan's little shredding sessions would be nothing compared to this. Her dark side, well his telepathy could help with that.
No, he had to get Mimi's humanity on, and he had an idea. And when it wasn't supposed to happen like this.
He called Adam. "We have a problem. Mimi's turned off her humanity. She's a total vampire, enjoys killing, just taking life, normal for a vampire in a way, but when Mimi's a fucking strong vampire and then Mimi's rage on top of that. Not a good combination. Plus her inner beast, killer side is out."
Adam said: "What do we do? Oh fuck, that doesn't sound good that Mimi is a vampire. Bran has a problem with vampires, and he might be even more scared of Mimi. What can you or I do? How do we get Mimi's humanity back on?"
Damon replied: "I need to make Mimi feel something. And I know what I have to do and damn if it isn't perfect. I have to take Mimi's virginity and make it as fucking amazing as I possibly can. But in some fucking hotel room when Mimi didn't have her humanity on. Oh fuck. But when I have no choice but to..."
Damon didn't finish the sentence. Damon knew what he had to do. It certainly wasn't supposed to happen under these circumstances or in any hotel, but now he had to.
Adam said " You do what you have to do, it doesn't have to be romantic as long as Mimi feels as much as she never has."
Damon said, " Yeah, I'll do my best, and I hope this helps."
He hung up the phone, took a deep sigh, and prepared himself for the ordeal. He would have to be decisive now and give Mimi no choice but to let lust take over.
He had been shadowing Mimi all night. When Mimi left for her hotel in the morning, Damon followed her.
