Zhulong laid Azure down on the bed when they arrived at the palace, while a female physician and a few maids immediately attended to her wounds.
Zhulong stood next to the bed watching the girl intently with worry who was bleeding out, from his heightened senses, he could hear her unstable breathing and faint heartbeat.
The physician loosed the belt on her waist and was about to loose her robes to attend to her wounds but her hands halted midair before turning to face the youngest vampire god with flushed up cheeks.
"What's wrong? Take care of her wounds immediately, she's bleeding out!" He exclaimed with a distraught expression.
"Could you please exit the room? I'll have to take off her clothes to attend her wounds." The physician noted in her most respectful manner.
"Oh! Right." He immediately exited the room with not another minute to spare.
He stood outside the room, waiting patiently for when she would regain consciousness but after that, then what? Why was he waiting for her to regain consciousness? He didn't have anything to say except his condolences for her parents demise and maybe, he would check up on her too.
He was about to tuck a stray strand of his hair behind his ear but he halted when his eyes narrowed to the dried blood on his palms.
She was still being attended to, so he'd better wash up before she woke up. He left to his chamber which was only two doors away, he had deliberately put her in a room next to his.
He went into the washroom and washed the blood off his hands, a red tinged water dispersed as he rinsed the blood off.
He exited his room and went to stand outside her chambers, he knew she wouldn't be awake any time soon as she had lost a lot of blood and at that instant, a thought popped into his head.
He wondered if they used blood transfusion during the ancient times, he could only hope they did so he could give her his in case her condition was critical but he hoped not.
Maids scampered back and forth from the room, running errands for the physician and giving her a helping hand, once he had seen a maid carrying a bowl of water into the room and then coming out afterward with the bowl of water that had altered into a red hue color.
He knew it was blood, he could smell it and he hoped it wasn't critical. Although, the maid had assured him that she was fine when he queried about the girl's condition.
After what seemed like a few hours, the physician came out and he observed her expression before speaking. He sighed inwardly seeing she had a relaxed one.
"Young master, she'll be fine, she just needs to rest for a few hours before she regains consciousness." The physician stated before she dismissed herself from his sight, her traditional white robe swaying left and right with her movements before she fades away.
He went into the chambers while staring at the unconscious girl that was tucked under the thick sheets, her clothes were changed into a clean white robe, her long black hair sprayed on the pillows.
She was ethereal like, yes but what was he doing staring at her face like a creep while she slept, it would be awkward if she woke up and caught him staring at her like an oddball.
He moved towards the window instead and started out of it while waiting for her to regain her consciousness, it felt like a minute but hours fleeted past his eyes.
He heard a soft grunt and he whipped his head toward the girl who was sitting up slowly, her face etched with pain until her jade eyes met his.
"Do you feel better?" He blurted out.
"I'm fine, we have to warn the other clans, they're in danger!" She exclaimed immediately with frantic movements as she slipped off the bed, her loose hair swayed with her movement as she made way towards the door but Zhulong stopped her with a gentle tug as he placed his hands on her shoulder blades, restricting her from moving.
"You should calm down and rest, you're hurt. You won't do anyone any good if something bad happens to you." He spoke with a persuasive coaxing tone and her body relaxed.
She swiftly swept his hands away from her shoulders and he shoved his hand into his pockets awkwardly. He couldn't help but notice the slight tension in the air between them.
"What are the warnings you wanted to convey to the other clans? We could send messengers instead." He suggested, wondering what the perilous situation could be.
"You and your brothers have been hunting down monsters that appeared to break out from their realm through a portal who's location is unknown, but those monsters started coming after me just three days ago and I figured out they're not only coming after me, they're coming after the four clans of the great guardian gods, they're trying to eradicate the offspring's from the clans of the four guardians in order to prevent us from interfering with their plans."
She explained to him, and he processed everything properly into his brain before speaking.
"Why are your existences a threat to them?" He queried with creased brows.
"With our powers merged as one, it'll create an inexplicable surge of power enough to cause the extinction of anything and anyone."
His brows lifted up in perplexity, he wasn't aware of the great powers of the four guardian gods.
"You should know that already." She muttered under her breath but he caught every word, perk of being a vampire.
"Uh so have you figured out who's creating the portals to the realm of monsters?" He queried with obvious curiosity glinting in his golden eyes.
"Not yet, we have no idea where the portal is, we should send a messenger out to warn the other clans although I have a feeling they might have been attacked already, I could only hope they're not hurt, though it won't be an easy feat to harm them." She sighed outwardly with a worried expression as she fiddled with the hem of her white sleeves, taking graceful steps towards the bed and seating on the edge.
Every movement and action she made was done with so much elegance and poise, it was almost illogical for a person to act with so much grace, sometimes he was lost in her awe striking beauty or her graceful manner in which she carried herself.
"I'll send out messengers by tomorrow morning one for each clan." He said even though he was quite uncertain about his words, he wasn't well accustomed with the place or how to even dispatch out messengers, though it wouldn't be too hard doing that, as all he had to do was lay an order.
Her face brightened up with a small smile tearing through her lips.
"Thank you." She said timidly and he nodded.
"Uh, aren't you hungry?" He asked as he observed her.
"No thank you, i'd like to rest now." She said while darting her eyes around, scrutinizing the room and letting it drop anywhere else but on him.
He had noticed her reaction and the feeling she gave off, it didn't seem like a good vibe, it was as though she was avoiding him, he couldn't quite fathom her enigmatic personality.
Well, if she didn't want him around, he didn't see why he'd bother to stay behind, he'd give her the space she needed.
Without saying a word, he silently moved to the exit and was about to leave until his brothers barged in uninvited, making him take steps backward into the room with a startled expression.
"If you're feeling better, then you better start talking." He heard Wenglei say in a clipped, hard tone as his hands sank into his trouser pockets, his cold black gaze on her.
Even the girl was quite perplexed to see the brothers barge into the room with no courteous or gentleman like manner.
"Firstly, it is highly impolite of you to come into a lady's chamber without permission." She stated with a sharp tone, but every word that seemed to roll off her lips aligned in a graceful manner even though she was displeased.
"Obviously, I don't care about manners, so do fill my knowledge on whatever you know that I don't or else, what use do I have for you?"
Wenglei's dreary words came out in a low deep growl, obvious impatience coating it.
Azure licked her lips that had grown dry from fear, obviously the vampire gods had no regards whatsoever for gentlemen etiquette, they held immense power and they were naturally sinister beings.
"You don't have to scare her, she'll speak." Zhulong immediately chipped in, breaking the veil of melancholy that clothed the air.
She explained everything to the three vampire god brothers who listened attentively and their eyes darkened drearily.
