As the two were floating in the air, their gazes were fixated on each other as they descended to the ground. Their attacks were going to be strong, and the two didn't know how to hurt each other. Even though they could regenerate from having their souls erased, they still did not want to harm each other.
Once they descended to the ground, the two kept staring at each other before looking at the swords that were in their hands.
"Are you ready to put forth all of your strength and show me the power you wield as the last hero in this world?"
"Of course, I am ready to put an end to this fight… no matter who wins today, I want to be able to fight you again one day…."
Shito smiled slightly. It was the first time he smiled during the match that they were having, and he was happy deep down. Being able to fight with her again would be fun because the hero is said to grow after every battle they face. The stronger the person is, the stronger the hero will become after defeating their opponents.
For a moment, the two smiled at each other. Everyone in the entire arena was looking at them, bewildered. They were looking at the two kids as their auras were getting more prominent in more extensive. Shito's body was releasing purple light and ran at Lucia.
"It seems like these two students are going to be putting an end to this battle!" the announcer shouted through his mic. Shiba was floating over the barrier trying to get a good look at the fight they were having.
The crowd in the audience seats was stirred up at that fact. The battle that they were wholeheartedly enjoying was finally coming to an end, a battle that was the most entertaining one that they witnessed as they were watching the tournament.
Shito was limited to only using five percent of his power, but he never went over two percent. It was only natural for him to do that since he would instantly kill his opponents. He could do all types of things and a single swing from his sword was enough to rip the world apart. Therefore, he never used anything over two percent because no one could receive one of his attacks.
But now, Shito had bumped his strength to four percent. That was the only way that he could acknowledge the strength of the girl that was standing before him. He had no will to kill her, but he was going to defeat her if it was the last thing he was going to do.
Ahhhh! He decided to use more of his strength… it seems that he acknowledges the strength of the person that was standing before him.
Sara smiled from the crowd as she was thinking about her brother's attack. She could never really tell how much power he was always using seals to keep his power at the same level. She felt the spike in his power and noticed that he was holding back but not by how much.
My brother completely understands what it means to be a swordsman. But those kinds of things didn't really matter to him because of all of the power he had, and now that he had a person who could even fight with him for a little bit... He is now happy to be fighting.
Her face smile instantly went away, and she continued staring at the fight.
Even though I'm happy for him! The outcome of this fight was already determined the moment they walked onto the stage…
The hero was a person who was in a high-ranking position, being one of the strongest beings to ever step into the world. When the hero had the Holy Body, the hero was tens of thousands of times faster than the speed of light. Even with the Holy Body, she wouldn't have any chance of defeating him. Would she be cut down by his speed, or would she be able to break the sword that he was wielding? Whatever it was, Sara couldn't see the hero winning the battle in the slightest. Watching the match, Sara and the twins smiled, already knowing the outcome of the battle. The battle that they were watching was something that the three of them enjoyed, but the winner was already determined. But among them… The Vermillion Princess, Tenka Vermillion—
"It seems that you have decided to end this fight with her. You are having fun out there, aren't you, Shito?"
And she smiled brightly, watching the battle closely.
There was no reason to ask 'why?' He was ready to put an end to this battle with a single strike. They could've fought forever if they wanted to, but that was something she was not willing to do because Shito—
Putting an end to this battle in one strike is the most fun way to go about ending a prolonged battle. I could fight forever and ever, but what would be the fun of that? Fighting someone for so long would get boring. I'm not a person who likes to have fun, so I try to have the most fun when I'm fighting to overcome the dull feelings that harbor in my body.
From the first time that he encountered Lucia. He had been coming up with ways to end a battle with her. Of course, the power that was in her body was something that he needed to unlock because fighting someone who was not at full strength is boring.
Their bodies had no limits, and their bodies were made up of two energies that were completely opposite from one another. Shito was the embodiment of something that was darker than nothingness, and Lucia was the embodiment of a light that was brighter than any typical kind of light. Physically the two didn't have the limits as normal mages, and fatigue was something that the two couldn't experience.
Lucia could feel the intensity of the opponent that was rushing at her, and the two wanted to have a match that would leave no regrets. Of course, they had the opportunity to fight again in the future, but they wanted to leave a good memory on their first-ever battle—
Making this a battle that one that I cherish for the rest of my life—!!!
With the two being at equal strength for a while, it would be a match to see which person's attack power was higher than the others. With four percent of his power, would he be able to beat the person in front of him who was at their full strength? That was something that didn't even matter at the moment, and Shito kept running forward, keeping his speed slow enough to give her time to channel her attack.
Seeing that, Lucia was eager to make some sort of contact with his strike.
"With this single strike, you shall fall!"
They had pledged to destroy each other with a single attack, and that was a promise that he was going to keep, no matter the cost.
In any other situation, she would've dodged his attack and waited until he dropped his guard for her to make her counterattack, but that was something that she didn't want to do.
But the pledge that was between them stopped her from using those kinds of methods.
Ah-ha-ha. Do you think I was going to let you have a free win? Don't be silly with my final attack, I shall crush you.
Lucia, the last hero, was not some coward who would flee from anyone. Excalibur, the hero sword that helped her defeat countless enemies, even if the sword were to be destroyed, she would be able to recreate it with her mana. For all her life, she was labeled as a 'genius', something that put a distance between her and the other students. Her strength constantly grew, and it got to the point that no one could match her strength. For years she yearned for an opponent that could match her in strength, and that person had finally appeared before her. If she were to use any underhanded methods to win the fight, then she would damage her pride as a magic knight because, at the moment, they weren't fighting as mages or knights. They were fighting with both Ki and Mana, and they were both tapping into the unknown power.
Ahhh, that's right.
Being the strongest didn't matter to me in the slightest! My only interest was finding someone that would make me use my full power! Right now, my only interest is beating this strong magic knight that stands before me.
I shall take you on! With the sword that is made purely from light, Excalibur—!!!
The unknown power that resided in her body was becoming more concentrated by the passing second, and she spread her stance, and light beamed from the blade in her hand. She prepared to use all of her strength to end the battle.
The speeds of both parties were beyond the speed of light. The speeds were in the tens of thousands of times faster… no, it was a million times faster than the speed of light.
"AHHHHHHH!!!!"
"YAHHHHHH!!!!"
With their speeds that were faster than the speed of light, they swung their swords at each other, directly at each other's chest, to make sure they hit each other's blades.
Thunsmanas and Excalibur were both swords that could kill any opponent they faced, and their wielders were people who would kill anyone without any remorse. If they were outside of the tournament and they were enemies, they would be aiming to kill each other. The swing from each other and their swords were so beautiful. They were beautiful enough to make it look like they were dancing with their swords.
Lucia Komeiji, the hero who wields one of the strongest swords in existence… a girl who spent countless lives honing her skills. A girl who genuinely is strong.
—No! Even with my limiters placed, I can still acknowledge the strength that she holds… she is the first person other than my sister to push me this far with my limiters placed; that enough tells me how strong she is—as an opponent.
A flash of light from two blades collided. The whole barrier that was surrounding the arena blasted away. The collusion sent a big shockwave through the whole arena, and a beam of light formed over the two as their swords collided.
*CRACK*
The whole arena was in a brief silence, and the only thing that could be heard was the sound of steel breaking. The bright light had completely disappeared.
Everyone looked toward the arena and noticed, and looked towards the arena, the broken shards of a blade.
The sword that was broken was Excalibur, the sword that the hero wielded.
Not even a split second later, Lucia Komeiji had fallen to the ground beside her sword, which was slowly fading away.
