In the deepest parts of the forest, two students were spotted looking around for monsters. One of the students was Shito Mahinu, and he was just there to have a look and protect someone. The other was Tenka Vermillion, she was there so she could find monsters so they could hurry up and get home.
There were a lot of monsters in the deepest parts of the forest but for some reason, none of the monsters were coming out, it was almost as if they were avoiding something for some odd reason, but they would not be paying that any mind, they were just worried about finding monsters so they could go home and spend time together.
*Rustle, Rustle* The sounds of monsters could be heard from all over the deepest parts of the forest, the sounds of monsters running closer to them.
Suddenly, three big apes popped out of the bushes about to attack the two students that were standing in front of them. There were green apes that were over forty feet in height. Menacing-looking creatures that looked ready to go on a rampage.
Tenka glanced at the two apes, turning her head so fast that she broke all the sound barriers. A sword started to form out of thin air, the sword that was created by nothing but her magic power, Caliburn.
"Slice them into pieces, Caliburn." Tenka was about to swing her swords but was suddenly caught by Shito. He knew that she was about to cut the apes into pieces and if she did that, they would take even longer to finish the quest.
"You can't do that." Shito said, shaking his head, "If you cut them into pieces then we are going to have to stay here even longer."
Tenka looked at Shito and sighed before her sword disappeared into thin air. What else was there for them to do since all the spells she used were destructive?
Met with a sudden realization, Tenka noticed that the apes still had not hit them, they had already jumped towards them, and they were nearing them before she was stopped from killing them.
Tenka looked at the apes, noticing that they were floating in place. They were stopped in midair using telekinesis magic and they were already dead but there was no physical damage done to their bodies.
"Shito what did you do to these monsters?" Tenka asked, looking directly at him, she knew that it was only him who could do something like that since they were the only people in the deepest parts of the forest. The other students were in the front where all the lesser monsters were.
Shito just stared at her for a couple of seconds without saying a single word, she was a smart person, so he thought that she was able to figure it out but… after the seconds had passed, he noticed that she was still waiting for an answer.
"I stopped their organs from the inside of their bodies by using telekinesis."
That was all there was to it, Shito was a man who knew a lot of things about the bodies of animals and people since he was the type to study when he was younger. In the science books, it was stated that when one major organ stopped functioning it would lead to other organs to stop functioning, and when that happens the lungs and heart would stop, killing the person.
Even though she was a person that knew how to do that she just wasn't thinking now, since she was in a hurry to get home, Tenka thought it would be best for her to kill the monsters as fast as she could.
"I see… Well, I guess I am going to have to do the same thing!"
"Yeah, let's just get this out of the way."
Shito looked at the monsters and put his hand over their bodies, and the monsters instantly disappeared because he used a magic skill called item box.
Every mage had an item box so it wasn't really anything that would shock anyone.
The two continued to walk deeper into the forest without a care in the world, looking for more monsters they could kill and take back to the teacher.
"How long do you think we got left for this test?" Tenka asked, trying to figure out the exact time. She did not exactly know what time it was because the sun stayed in position and the same place. People usually use their watches or clocks to check the time but not knowing how valid time was in the dimension she thought it would be no use for her to check it.
Shito looked at her and nodded his head, "Time runs the same in here as it would usually outside in our world… so your clock would be valid." he said, noticing that she was looking at her watch. He had completely figured out what she was thinking about just from looking at her.
"Ok… since dawn usually starts at 5:38 in the morning, since we have been in this place for about an hour that would mean we have–"
"We would have 9 hours and 8 minutes left into the test is over." Shito interrupted, "Since school starts at 7:30 at night. You could just say 548 minutes (about 9 hours) until we must leave the forest."
Tenka stared at him, she knew that everything he just said was the truth, she calculated it in her head, but it took her a long time to get the answer to the question. Unlike Shito who had already had an answer when he heard the problem. Shito was an absolute genius in every subject, he could copy magic abilities, memorize formulas, and recite them word for word from textbooks. Martial arts were not a problem for him either, since he could copy martial arts like there were his in the first place. His ability to copy is not that of a regular copy ability, the copy ability he had would copy anything in its strongest form… even if the person who was using it was not an expert of his own skills. Every ability he copies is at its full potential.
"...You calculated all of that in your head?" Tenka asked, looking at Shito who was standing beside her. Even though she did the same, she was curious and wanted to ask him.
"I mean… You did the same, didn't you?"
"Yeah, I did."
With that, the two looked up and noticed that two monsters were rushing towards them, it was not any type of monster… It was a giant two-headed serpent that looked vicious. All two-headed serpents were vicious since they were mindless, they ate anything they could find, and they sometimes turned on each other just to have a delicious meal.
"Wow, there are some vicious monsters in this forest," Tenka said, looking at the monsters that were running toward them.
Shito looked at the monsters and sighed, he did not know the point of adding these types of monsters. Most of the students in the school would not be able to deal with the serpents.
Sister… What are you thinking by adding all these monsters, these students wouldn't be able to handle them no matter how hard they tried… unless they used–
That was the moment Shito figured out what his sister was thinking, the thing that everyone needed to know one day… the thing that people could not do to save their lives. Teamwork was a thing that all the students needed, the monster that they encountered was a monster that was supposed to be taken care of with the two people in the group together as a pair and if they met a monster that was stronger than the two, they could seek help from another pair.
The true meaning of this test is to build a bond with the other students, so they will not be at odds with each other all the time. To also put them in situations that make them realize that being alone is not always the best… Well, my case is different from theirs because my strength is certified, so I don't need help from anyone else when it comes to battles.
Tenka raised her hand, looking at the two serpents that were in front of her. Mana started to feel the bodies of the serpents, stopping the flow of their blood and the lungs that were inside their bodies. She was using her mana so she could control the body flow of the snakes while also simultaneously stopping their lungs from getting air. Thus, she was causing their respiratory system to fail.
Unlike Shito, I do not know if I can use telekinesis yet, but using my own mana should be able to replace that since everyone could have full control of the mana they use if they do it correctly.
The serpent dropped to the ground and completely died from not being able to breathe and having his blood flow cut off.
"That was easy enough… I guess we should put this in the item box."
Having said that, Shito used magic on the serpents' bodies sending them directly to his item box where the apes lay.
Tenka looked around the forest and noticed that the forest had gone even deeper than it currently was.
"Well, let us get moving. There seems to be something even deeper in these caves, so let's go explore it!"
Shito just nodded his head and walked beside the Vermillion princess, heading deeper into the forest. They had already collected four monsters, all they needed to do was collect six more, so they could leave. They decided to go slower because if they finished too fast people would want to ask too many questions, and that was something neither of them wanted.
