Seconds felt like hours as they awaited a response. Hiro folded his arms, waiting to hear the response from General Aric Tarkus. While he wait, he turned his attention to his neural link to contact Nova.
"Nova, prepare the Quantum Blade and the Plasma Guns, things might get messy soon."
Then, the reply came through on the leader's device.
Tarkus's cold voice crackled through the comms, "Captain Rourke, under no circumstances am I lifting the lockdown. Stand your ground, and do not let him pass. That's an order. We will deal with Banks on our terms."
Captain Rourke relayed the message to his men, his voice heavy with the weight of the command. "You heard the General. No one gets through. Hiro Banks, you're not going anywhere."
