My words hung frozen in the air as Christian ignored me. I grit my teeth and shouted louder, "Am I your mate, Christian?!"
Still nothing. His back was like a stone wall, unmoving and unwavering.
Fed up with his silence, I grabbed his arm, steeling myself for whatever reaction he may have.
But instead of what I expected, he burst into action. He whipped his arm away from me, snarling like a wild animal before gripping my upper arms with an iron grip. Banging me against the wardrobe, my vision grew blurry as fear and adrenaline coursed through my veins.
"Christian! Let go of me! You're hurting me!" I screamed, desperately trying to break free from his iron grasp. But all my efforts were in vain as second by second his grip tightened further until I couldn't move, closing my eyes tightly as if that would save me from this nightmare. When I opened them, for a moment time seemed to have stood still.
