Chapter 6 - Innocence

Christian Armstrong

Growing up was a constant battle, but my pack had my back. They raised me to become the most powerful Alpha in England, feared and respected by all. However, no one has ever aroused such an innocent response from me like Trisha does. Her death glares don't scare me; they fuel my primal instincts.

"I am warning you not to scrape your nails on my chest like that again or I'll show you what it means to feel true lust at the hands of an Alpha," I warned her.

But my words only aroused her. I can smell her, it's the sweetest smell i had ever came across off.

Her face flushed red with embarrassment but she couldn't keep her hands off me." I am sorry, I didn't mean to do it, " She told me in a low voice.

The way she looked at me with pure innocence made me want to ravage her right then and there. But I couldn't claim her yet, even though my wolf roared to do so. No, there were still things we needed to work out before taking that final step.

Either way, she is mine, marked by the unmistakable scent that lingered on her skin from the moment I marked her.

When I had saw her in that room that day, I knew then and there that she is my soul mate. Then she go and slapped me in that room. I was confused why she haven't claimed us like my wolf claimed her as our mate, either way we wouldn't stop until she was ours completely.

I don't know the whys of it...

I could feel her eyes burning into my skin," What are you thinking about? " her gaze questioning me about the thoughts inside my head. I refused to answer her, not wanting to give away how desperately I craved for her.

I leaned closer, my breath brushing against her delicate face as a reminder of the power I hold over her. She shrinked into herself.

"What are you thinking?" She asked again, arousal lacing her voice.

My wolf growled in pleasure from the sight of our mate's timidness.

I knew she was deliberately ignoring the connection between us and I couldn't stand it.

"No questions," I snarled, showing my displeasure. Her face fell but I tried to show that i don't care. I have to keep the act of tough guy untili figure out what is keeping her from recognising me as her mate.

"Get out of that degrading outfit and take a shower. Be back here within fifteen minutes or else."

She nodded and quickly scrambled away, trying to escape my presence before her disobedience was noticed by me. Still smirking at her attempt to flee, I stepped back and watched her go.

My wolf and I were both happy; he finally got his mate and I could be able to enfold our mate in my arms, never wanting to let go.

As she disappeared from my sight. I acknowledged the fact that I finally had found my mate.

It is the proudest feeling I ever had. My frattelos were always teasing me because I was the only one left out of all my brothers to be unmated.

That was the reason I have been finding a breeder. I thought I will never find my mate, and that I could find comfort in someone else's arms.

But I sure had done some good deeds that the goddess have planned something like this for me.

Trisha.

As soon as her name came into my mind, the bathroom door flung open and Trisha stepped out.

I growled when i saw her draped in nothing but my white bathrobe, her dripping wet hair cascading down her shoulders like a waterfall. She was an angelic vision that sent my heart racing as well as other parts of me coming alive with desire.

"Why are you not wearing something decent as I have told you?" I asked her gruffly, although deep inside It was getting hard for me to keep my mind straight. My mate holds that power over me.

She looked at me meekly, her voice breaking with fear. "There was nothing! I couldn't find anything to wear except this. I am telling the truth.

I gritted my teeth in anger and annoyance; despite all my warnings the omega had failed to do his job properly.

"It's alright," I said, trying to relax myself. "It was almost midnight when your arrival was announced to them, so they probably missed it. Don't worry."

Ignoring her look of confusion, I strode towards the wardrobe and picked out one of my shirts.

Handing them to her, I said softly: "Wear this, it may be comfortable for tonight. Tomorrow I will take you shopping."

Her eyes widened in delight and a smile lit up her face brighter than the sun - making my chest swell with pride for being able to make her happy. My wolf howled with satisfaction.

"Really?" She said with enthusiasm.

"You don't believe me?" I asked.

She gulped, looking nervous as she was giving a part of herself to me. "It isn't that I don't trust you. It's just that I had never been to a mall and a few girls from the academy had said that rich men took the woman on shopping for dates" She explains.

I smirked before changing the topic "Go get change" I told her walking to the bed once again to sit down.

Her expression shows her dissatisfaction. But reluctantly she walked away.

My mate was not given what she deserved. She faced things that she was not supposed to. The thought of it enraged me.

She was not able to experience happiness. She never had anyone to rely on. To find comfort in. My little mate only knows to struggle all her life.

"Don't worry baby, You will never be deprived of your dreams" I whispered to myself.

A promise I will keep till my last breath.
