"Miss, you're too kind," Yi Feng also stood up and nodded slightly.
As the compliments kept coming, he readily accepted them. These sentences, although not originally his, could be considered a benefit for him as a transmigrator.
"The interaction with Master is very comfortable," Bai Piao Piao praised.
Yi Feng just smiled. In the midst of the conversation, Bai Piao Piao unknowingly finished her chicken leg. Yi Feng tore off a few pieces of fish for her as a return for her compliments.
On the side, Mao Mao was eating with her mouth full of oil but was stunned by the conversation between the two.
It was the first time she saw her young lady praising someone so much.
"Hearing the poem Master recited just now, Master should not be a local, right?" Bai Piao Piao asked.
"Yes, that's correct."
Speaking of this, Yi Feng couldn't help but sigh, looking at the bright moon, reminiscing about his hometown. He took a long drink.
"As expected."
"Master is a person with a story."
Looking at Yi Feng's slightly desolate side profile, Bai Piao Piao couldn't help but develop an interest in this ordinary person. She asked softly, "Would Master be willing to tell Piao Piao your story?"
"I'm not willing."
"Eh..."
Bai Piao Piao sucked her lips. She had never been rejected like this before. Unexpectedly, this ordinary person rejected her so cleanly. It felt unpleasant!
Yi Feng just smiled apologetically. His story was too distant. It was from another world, another civilization. Moreover, besides the somewhat redundant system, it was his most significant secret.
"However, Piao Piao is abrupt. Then Master, please sit. We won't disturb you anymore," Bai Piao Piao said softly, standing up with Mao Mao.
But just as they were about to leave, Bai Piao Piao stopped.
Turning back, she asked, "By the way, does Master read books?"
"Books?"
Yi Feng shook his head in apology.
"Oh, okay," responded Bai Piao Piao. For the first time, a tinge of disappointment flickered in her eyes as she regarded Yi Feng.
Even though Yi Feng was an ordinary person, Bai Piao Piao rarely encountered someone like him. She wouldn't mind having him as a good friend.
She had hoped Yi Feng might have read those two books.
Unfortunately...
After having enough food and drink, Yi Feng, lost in thought, leaned against the railing under the moonlight. The midnight air filled with contemplation surrounded him.
It was only at midnight that Yi Feng returned to his room. He took out the copy of "Dream of the Red Chamber" from the bamboo basket, placed it under the hard bed, and gradually succumbed to a deep slumber.
The next day, Yi Feng rose early, found Bai Piao Piao and Mao Mao, and prepared to bid farewell.
"If Master ever needs a place to stay when visiting the mountains again, you are welcome here," Bai Piao Piao hesitated and conveyed her invitation when parting ways.
"Thank you, Miss Piao Piao," Yi Feng acknowledged to the two ladies. He turned and descended the mountain.
"Why did you invite him again?" Mao Mao asked with confusion.
Bai Piao Piao smiled. Although Yi Feng was just an ordinary person, his presence wouldn't disrupt their plans or pose any threat. Furthermore, his demeanor and knowledge genuinely impressed Bai Piao Piao. Admiring an ordinary person might seem peculiar, but that was the reality.
Hence, she didn't reject the idea of having this ordinary person around.
Unfortunately, he didn't read books.
Otherwise, they might have had more shared interests!
"Well, it's good that he came. The fish last night was really delicious," Mao Mao said mischievously, expressing her yearning for that delectable food.
"Alright, go and tidy up the room he stayed in!" Bai Piao Piao instructed with a touch of sternness.
Mao Mao stuck out her tongue and rushed to tidy up the room.
Before long, she returned, calling out, "Miss, Miss, come and see!"
