Batin then grabbed a stick that was on the floor, and then tossed it to Codarius. Codarius dropped the stick upon being tossed to him, but picked it back up. Though it did worry Batin if Codarius really was suited to go on a journey at all, but it was afterall Codarius himself who said he wanted to take Batin on the journey. Batin then told Codarius, "Come at me, show me what you can do." Codarius asked Batin, "Don't you need a stick or something too?"
Batin smiled, "I think I'm fine." Codarius certainly felt like he was underestimated, and then charged at Batin with all his might. He did a big swing at Batin, but then with one swing that Batin did with his hand, the air collided with Codarius' stick, and the force felt as if Codarius struck some wall. Codarius then swung the stick rapidly, but every single one was dodged and countered. Codarius became exhausted from swinging the stick, and then took a quick rest. Batin then proposed, "You use too much unnecessary force. You also have unnecessary tension in your upper body, it's making your reflexes and movement dull.
That tension in your body needs to be more relaxed." Those words went through Codarius' mind, and Codarius remembered being told something very similar when he was little. It was when he had been studying music, and played an instrument. He had a tendency to get tense, and then that would cause him to not be able to have any articulation, phrasing, or tone quality. Perhaps it was somewhat similar to that? Codarius then thought about the things he had learnt, and kept precious before he let go, and tried to apply it to his current situation. Batin then told Codarius, "Try again, and this time less tension."
Codarius concentrated, and with the stick in his hands, he ran towards Batin once again. He thought about how he should swipe the sword, how he should swing his arms, how he should feel upon every swing, and overall, the depth of every fundamental action he does. Batin didn't expect much growth upon one simple explanation, and then got ready to dodge Codarius' attack like he did before. However, he noticed a dynamic change within Codarius' swings. They had become more precise and clear.
The first swing skimmed through Batin's hair, and then the second swing came immediately afterwards. But then Batin smiled, and dodged the approaching swings, one after another. Codarius finished, and was tired again. Batin then complemented, "Hey, you almost got me at that first swing, I didn't expect you to grasp it that fast. You're certainly clinching your back and neck significantly less now."
Codarius then rubbed his back and neck, trying to note to remember his tendencies of getting tense in his shoulders and neck area. Batin then got his stance again. Codarius grabbed the wood stick, and then swung at Batin once again. Then quite a bit of time seemed to have passed, and before he knew it, someone started approaching them, with several people behind them. Codarius was completely drenched in sweat, though Batin seemed to be perfectly fine. Before Codarius went to the approaching man, Batin quickly commented, "You also might want to work on your stamina." Codarius nodded, and then went to see who it was. He felt a bit dizzy, but after scrunching his eyes, he saw it was Rick. But who were the people behind them?
