Chapter 5 - Training

An hour later, Braxis was waiting patiently in the magic study hall as his father had sent Levant to give him the magical books as sending a servant with sensitive information like that would be ridiculous.

Levant handed the books over, "Your tutor will be here soon. Don't do anything stupid after proving yourself," Levant said and left soon after, not wanting to stay near Braxis for an extended period of time.

The books in question were a stack of four, two of which focused on the basics of magic, and the other two focused on flame magic as Gravis assumed that was where Braxis held talent in.

'Pretty generous of him to just give me these books like that without even questioning it. Maybe he's not that bad.' Braxis smiled as he flipped through the two basic magic books.

'Okay, to gradually get more magical power besides eating those imbued foods, I have to meditate and form a mana heart. Interesting, I'll try it.' Braxis then sat in a meditative stance and focused on attempting this, hours went by without him even noticing.

Unfortunately, there was something else that he hadn't noticed. Out from his closet came a person dressed in all black, covering their face. The assassin was holding a small dagger laced with poison and slowly crept up behind him.

Braxis still had his eyes closed, focused on meditating and properly learning how to condense mana.

The assassin held the dagger out and placed it in front of his throat and killed him.

Braxis's eyes opened wide in horror as the last thing he saw was this man. "Should've kept your magic hidden, scum."

"Remaining revival points: 1."

Braxis drifted away once more but this time he jumped internally and when he reopened his eyes, he was standing in front of Levant once more, right after he produced a puff of smoke and stopped him.

'What the fuck! Why the hell would I be assassinated just for using magic!? What kind of fucked up things did this kid do before I took over?' Braxis internally yelled.

"So, are you going to waste my time, or are you going to show me your 'magic'?" Levant taunted with his arms crossed.

"You're right, Levant. Sorry, I got ahead of myself. But, instead of swordsmanship, would you be willing to help me learn spearmanship?" Braxis said suddenly.

Levant looked at Braxis wide-eyed and uncrossed his arms. He wasn't used to Braxis being so mature about things.

"Are you sure? There isn't that many spear arts within our clan.." Levant said, attempting to reason with Braxis.

"I'm sure. To be honest with you Levant, I'm a bit afraid of being so close to something that sharp in battle. I'd prefer to attack from a distance." Braxis explained as he scratched the back of his head nervously.

"I see. While I do find that cowardly, I respect that you told me truthfully. I will personally assist you in learning your spearmanship." Levant said as he motioned for Braxis to follow him.

Braxis followed Levant to the training room and as they were walking, Dante passed by and bumped into Braxis.

"I'm going to watch you practice, if you don't mind Levant." Dante said with a curious expression

Levant looked at Dante "Sure, you can help us too."

'That bastard didn't even ask me if I was okay with it..' Braxis said as he glared at Dante who ignored him completely.

In front of Braxis was a beautiful woman who was practicing archery, every shot perfectly aligned with the center.

As her silver hair was twisted and coiled into a sleek bun, it was evident that her attention to detail extended beyond her coiffure. The sweat trickling down her cheek only added to her allure, as it accentuated the intensity of her focus.

Frontward, she commanded attention and were proportionate to her immaculately toned frame. Each curve of her body was a testament to the hard work and dedication she had poured into achieving the pinnacle of physical fitness.

Watching her move was like witnessing a graceful gazelle in the wild, effortlessly navigating her environment with precision and grace. Her lithe figure was an amalgamation of sinew and muscle, perfectly synchronized to create a fluid and captivating display.

It was impossible not to be entranced by her, like a moth drawn to a flame. Her presence commanded attention, and her sheer physicality was a marvel to behold. As she worked, she emanated a powerful energy that was simultaneously raw and refined, primal and sophisticated.

In short, she was a true goddess, the embodiment of strength, grace, and beauty. Every fiber of her being was a testament to her dedication and discipline, and it was impossible not to be mesmerized by her immense appeal.

The woman noticed the three of them walk into the room and she put her bow down and bowed to them. "Greetings young masters."

"Greeting Evelynne, you may return to your training, we're here to train as well." Levant said and she raised her head and continued with her practice.

Braxis looked at the backside of her and almost audibly gulped at the sight. 'She's so attractive!'

Levant noticed this and sighed at Braxis's antics. 'Some things never change..' he thought as he slapped the back of Braxis's head.

"Ow! Why?" Braxis said wincing in pain.

Soon enough they reached the destination within the training room; the ground was made of sand and there were a couple practice dummies around the area. On the wall there was many different practice swords, but only one practice spear.

Braxis immediately walked up, grabbed the spear, and felt how it was in his hand. He swung it around a couple times trying to get used to the weapon.

"So? Are you still keen on learning the spear?" Levant said in an attempt to give Braxis one more chance to change his mind.

"Why is he learning the spear.." Dante couldn't help but ask.

"Ah, well, as you might imagine, Braxis is a coward to say it simply." Levant said, laughing.

"Ah, makes sense." Dante said and nodded.

"Knock it off! I may be a bit afraid of sword fights but that doesn't mean I'll run from a fight!" Braxis yelled angrily.

Dante just ignored him while Levant laughed once more. "Its funny to see you so angry about something like this when you're usually so lazy!"
