Chapter 5 - Rescue

"Hey! Old Bai's daughter, what are you doing?"

Someone wanted to step forward to stop her, but they were afraid that they would touch Bai Jiang. No one dared to approach her, fearing that her golden needles might be misplaced.

"No, you guys, go and find Great Master!"

"Yes, yes, let's find Great Master!"

Great Master was the Mongolian doctor of the Bai Family Village. He was not a doctor who studied traditional medicine. However, in such a village, the existence of a person like the Great Master was undoubtedly a guarantee for everyone.

For example, if they had a headache or fever, they could seek Great Master's help.

"Oh! Old Bai's daughter, your father's illness was deemed incurable by the big hospitals. He was supposed to take medication for the rest of his life. What are you doing?"

Bai Jiang paid no attention to the comments. She focused on administering acupuncture treatment to Bai Shu.

Before long, the villagers managed to bring Great Master to the scene.

As he approached to assess the situation, he was taken aback to see a woman holding golden needles and inserting them into Bai Shu's head. A tingling sensation ran down his scalp.

"Oh dear, what are you doing? Those particular points are vital acupoints. If you hit them, it could be fatal!" Great Master exclaimed.

Hearing that someone was going to die, the surrounding villagers were shocked.

They began discussing the situation in a flurry.

"Shouldn't we pull her away?"

"What if something goes wrong? Will we be implicated?"

Great Master became aware of the urgency and vigorously tapped his cane on the ground. "What are you all doing? Even at this point, you're not stopping her?"

"Don't worry. I won't let anything happen to my father," Bai Jiang reassured.

As she spoke, she did not stop what she was doing. Instead, she continued to inject needles into Bai Shu.

Great Master was left dumbfounded. Those acupoints were critical and hitting them could result in fatality.

At the thought of this, he hurriedly asked a few people to go forward and pull Bai Jiang away.

However, the villagers were also worried that if they went forward, they might collide with Bai Shu and worsen his situation.

After a few moments of stalemate, Bai Jiang finally stopped inserting the needles. She took a deep breath and said to Bai Shu, "Dad, how do you feel now?"

Bai Shu was silent for a while. He had a strange feeling in his head.

Normally, after epilepsy, he would feel heavy, throbbing pain, but this time, he felt no pain at all.

He opened his mouth and asked, "Am I cured?"

"Not yet. I've only alleviated your pain. I've cleared the congested part of your brain, so you might feel a sense of relief," Bai Jiang explained.

"Temporarily?"

Great Master caught onto an important point.

When Bai Jiang mentioned that it hadn't been cured yet, did it imply the possibility of future recovery?

"Bai Jiang, can your father's illness be cured?" Great Master inquired.

Bai Jiang nodded. In fact, this was not a serious illness in her previous life. It could be cured after a few sessions of acupuncture.

However, this was also because the predecessors had studied it for ten years or even longer.

Everyone fell silent when they heard their conversation.

Someone mustered up the courage to ask, "Bai Jiang, how do you know acupuncture?"

"Didn't you come out before you graduated from university?"

That person wanted to ask if Bai Jiang had gotten pregnant before she graduated from university and dropped out of school?

However, when the words were about to come out of his mouth, he saw Great Master's knife-like gaze staring at him, so he forcefully held back.

Thus, he changed his words to, "You haven't graduated from university yet and you came out."

"But your university major wasn't in traditional Chinese medicine, so how do you know acupuncture?"

Bai Jiang furrowed her brows slightly. She glanced at the people around her and smiled as she replied, "During these past three years, I found a master outside who taught me all of his lifelong skills."

Three years?!

When Great Master heard those two words, his eyes widened.

"What did you say?" His volume unconsciously rose.

"You've only learned for a few years and dare to directly target these fatal acupoints on your father's head? Aren't you afraid that you would kill him?"

"Ah, right, it's not like it's you who will die."

Great Master's string of remarks almost made Bai Jiang burst into laughter.

Actually, her father's condition wasn't serious, but in such a serious situation, she held back her laughter.

"Don't worry, Great Master. I've already learned all of my master's skills, and I've also practiced many times, so I have precise control over the force." Bai Jiang smiled and spoke.

She didn't want to explain to everyone. Seeing Bai Shu's expression, she helped him and leaned him against the sofa.

"Dad, wait a moment. I'll get you some water." After finishing her sentence, Bai Jiang turned and walked into the kitchen.

She found a glass and retrieved spring water from her spatial storage.

Just as she was about to leave the kitchen, she noticed a small figure silently following behind her.
