Chapter 29 - Kids Aren't Allowed to Drink

Speak of the devil.

The door of the banquet hall was opened by a server. Fu Jingmo appeared at the door in a suit.

He walked in nonchalantly—his posture noble and elegant—inadvertently attracting the attention of everyone present.

Mr. Zhang also stood up to welcome him. The two of them exchanged a few pleasantries before Fu Jingmo went to the main table.

The table was filled with place cards and investors. There were also the two stars in the leading roles. One of them was Bo Muyan, who had the seat next to Fu Jingmo.

After Mr. Zhang said a few words of pleasantries, the banquet officially began.

Most people did not come here to eat, but to socialize.

Therefore, almost everyone took the opportunity to go to the main table to propose a toast.

Only the youth group table was engrossed in gossip.

Li Beibei listened to the gossip as she ate. From time to time, she would glance in Fu Jingmo's direction.

This guy could really hold his drink. At least 30 people had gone to propose a toast to him.

However, he did not drink every toast. Most of the time, he just took a sip or did not drink at all.

Halfway through the banquet, Su Qingdai suddenly grabbed the corner of Li Beibei's dress. "Beibei, let's go and propose a toast to Second Uncle Fu."

The words "Second Uncle Fu" attracted everyone's attention which fell on Su Qingdai.

Yang Zhenzhen could not help but ask, "Qingdai, do you know Second Master Fu?"

Su Qingdai said innocently, "Of course. We're old acquaintances. He even taught me how to swim some time earlier."

Gasps came from the table. Everyone looked at each other, but Su Qingdai looked on innocently. "What's wrong with you guys? Don't misunderstand. Our relationship isn't what you think. We're not from showbiz…"

Su Qingdai's meaning could not be clearer—she was different from Bo Muyan; he was not her sugar daddy. So, that meant that there was only one possibility—the connection between their families.

Presumably, Su Qingdai and Li Beibei's backgrounds were not ordinary. One of them landed an important role in Mr. Zhang's production, while the other was taught swimming by the ever-busy Fu Jingmo.

Li Beibei knew that Su Qingdai was deliberately saying this to make everyone misunderstand that her relationship with Fu Jingmo was not ordinary.

She did not expose Su QIngdai and just quietly watched her perform.

Looking at everyone's doubtful and envious gazes, Su Qingdai's vanity was greatly satisfied.

In any case, every word she said was the truth. It was not her fault if they misunderstood her words.

However, she still had to drag Li Beibei along for the toast.

If she went alone, Fu Jingmo might not show her any courtesy or respect. It would be embarrassing if she was slapped in the face.

Although Li Beibei was unwilling, she was still dragged by Su Qingdai to propose a toast.

Coincidentally, the last wave of people proposing a toast had just left and Fu Jingmo turned his head sideways to speak to Mr. Zhang.

Su Qingdai pulled Li Beibei forward and held the wine glass in her hand. "Mr. Zhang, Second Master Fu… Beibei and I would like to propose a toast to you. Cheers."

Su Qingdai downed and emptied the red wine in her glass.

Li Beibei was about to drink out of courtesy when a hand was on her wine glass.

Then, the wine glass was taken away.

Li Beibei looked at Fu Jingmo—who had "snatched" her wine glass—in shock. "What are you doing?"

"Kids aren't allowed to drink."

Li Beibei retorted, "What's it to you whether I drink or not? Are you my father or my mother? Who are you to dictate what I eat or drink?"
