White dwarfs, as the name suggests, are named because of their white colour and their relatively small size.
One of the few end points after the death of a star, a white dwarf can reach a maximum of 1.44 times the mass of the Sun while being the size of the Earth. The extremely high mass and tiny size means that it is extremely dense and has extremely high gravity.
White dwarfs are among the most terrifying objects in the universe, and how powerful would a creature ... be that could survive near one?
Hawke did not know, but Hawke knew that it must be extremely developed, far more than himself.
"Will fifty years ... only be willing to wait for me for fifty years?" Hawke thought silently, "My current speed, which can reach ten thousand kilometres per second, would take forty-two years to sail the distance of one point four light years ... before I break through the material limitations and efficiency issues, I would need at least one hundred and thirty years to reach there. "
"As soon as I made the breakthrough and compressed the voyage time to less than fifty years, its message was immediately sent, so it is evident that it is indeed watching me." Hawke came to the conclusion.
The thought of an unknown and powerful presence watching him all this time sent a chill through Hawke's heart.
"So, now the question needs to be considered, this unknown presence, is it kind to me, or is it malicious?"
It seemed an unpredictable question, but through various clues, Hawke still got a little clue.
Once again, Hawke asked Lucca II about what had once been that fourth-class civilization's fleet, asking Lucca II in detail about every detail that he knew. The conclusion reached was that what had caused the mutation of that Level Four civilization creature seemed to be some strange and unknown power, a power that had only ever been found in the body of some kind of attacking fey civilization creature.
"A fey beast civilization?" Hawk fell silent.
The fae beast civilization and the technological civilization were in a state of hostility because of the difference in evolutionary philosophy. But the mechanical civilization, on the other hand, was the common enemy shared by both the fae civilization and the technological civilization. The fact that this unknown being called itself a technological civilization instead of a mechanical civilization could indicate that it had detected the existence of the Lucanians and therefore mistook itself for a technological civilization.
This means that this unknown being, knows a lot of information about itself.
So ... does a civilisation that is just one point four light years away from itself and has mastered such an almost unbelievable ability as space broadcasting, need to lay a trap for itself, a civilisation so weak?
The answer is no.
If it wanted to destroy itself, it could have come at any time.
"By this logical deduction, it seems that, it has no malice towards me." Hawk pondered, "Should I, should I go over and take a look?"
"Before making a decision, it would be better to listen to the Lucca, they were integrated into the galactic civilizations earlier than me after all, and know many secret things that I am not aware of." Hawk thought, and got through to Luca II, passing on all the information about this message.
Immediately, Luca II organised a large meeting with hundreds of Lucanians in attendance. Hawke, on the other hand, was keeping an eye on the place in secret, through the surveillance system.
Hawke saw that Luca II, who was a little taller in comparison, stepped up to the podium and, through the screen, explained the information.
"The Advocate of God needs everyone's wisdom. Next, please discuss lively and speak up with any ideas you may have. The true God is always watching over this place." Lucca II said solemnly.
Immediately, the hundreds of Lucasians below were in lively discussion, and the light asking to speak kept flashing.
"This must be a trap laid by the evil gods for the spokesmen of the gods! We cannot fall for it!"
"Compared to the evil gods, the God's Advocate is still weak right now! If it was the Evil God that noticed this place, then it wouldn't even need to expend so much breath, it would just kill it and come over!"
"This is a level two moderate danger zone, don't forget what happened to that level four civilisation's fleet! Here, a ferocious fey civilisation could be hiding!"
Amidst the chatter of the Lucanites, Hawk sent over a message to Lucan Two, which it complied with, and after signalling for all Lucanites to quiet down, it looked at the speech indicator and said, "Seat One Hundred and Fifty-two, please speak."
Seat one hundred and fifty-two was a pale Lucanian, which slowly stood up, moving extremely slowly, but with an extremely loud voice.
"I think that this is a trap. Based on the previous intelligence, we can know that a ferocious fey civilization may be hidden here, and this message was probably sent by it to confuse the master, we should escape immediately and leave this place at once."
A buzzing sound rang out in the hall.
"Seat number forty-three, please speak."
Seat forty-three was a young Lucan, and it opened its mouth full of excitement, "Perhaps this is the true god's test for the master? I think that the master should send an airship over and check it out on the ground, maybe it will really pay off."
After the young Lucan had finished speaking, another Lucan stood up.
"Is there such a possibility? There is some powerful alien beast civilization creature that is trapped around a white dwarf star for some reason, and it cannot leave, so it can only use this means to keep luring weaker civilizations over and wait for an opportunity to devour it?"
Hearing this Lucan's statement, Hawke's heart flinched.
Under the auspices of Lucca II, one after another Luccanian stood up and expressed their opinions. Many of these ideas had not occurred to Hawke himself.
"It seems that the expression "pooling of ideas" really isn't said for nothing." Hawke secretly sighed.
The meeting had been going on for over two hours, and in the middle of those two hours, the entire conference room was roughly divided into two factions, one of which believed that this was a benevolent civilization and that they should go over and check it out, while the other faction believed that this was definitely a trap laid by a malevolent civilization and that not only should they not go over, but that they should escape Eagle Nebula as fast as they could.
The two factions were at an impasse, but Hawke's thinking, in the midst of this argument, gradually became clearer.
Hawke sent a message to Lucca Two and then cut the connection.
After receiving the message, Lucca II opened her mouth after tapping the hammer in her hand and signalling for all the participants to be quiet.
"The truth is, it doesn't matter if this civilisation, is malicious or benevolent."
Luca II's first words caused a large chorus of murmurs. Luca Two turned a deaf ear and continued, "The key thing is that this civilisation has shown a desire to make contact with us. Then, as the weaker party, we have no choice but to accept. The one that has mastered the space broadcasting technology, whether it is a technological civilisation or a foreign beast civilisation, is at least a level six, which means that it possesses a power that we cannot resist."
"Think about it, if it is a malicious civilisation, then, even if we choose not to go, doesn't it have a way to deal with us? If it is a benevolent civilisation, if what it says is true, and we choose to go there, we might actually have a windfall."
"As for Fifty-two's claim that some fey civilization creature is trapped there for some unknown reason, that possibility is, well, too small. Besides, we could just launch a small ship over there, so that even if the ship is caught by it, it won't help it get out of its trap."
"So, the God-Emperor has chosen to send a spaceship to check it out on the ground there. All right, meeting adjourned."
There was silence in the hall and not a single person left.
With a sigh, Luca II continued, "I know that this feeling of being at the mercy of others is not pleasant. But there is no way around it, the God-Emperor is still in a weak stage. Then, as the first group of followers, we must be even more determined to continue to follow our master. We must do our best to help our master develop technology and improve his strength. When the master is strong, we, as the first followers, will also leave a glorious name throughout the galaxy, no, throughout the entire universe."
"Always follow the master! Forever loyal to the master!" It was only after three chants in unison that the participants left the meeting room in a scattered manner.
By this time, Hawke had already begun the preparations. Hawke decided that a special country-class ship would be built to go to Eagle Nebula II to check out the specifics.
Hawke named the binary system Eagle Nebula II, signifying the second Eagle Nebula body to be explored by itself. In this binary system, the white dwarf is named Eagle Nebula II x by Hawke, and the red dwarf is named Eagle Nebula II y. In this binary system, the white dwarf is named Eagle Nebula II x, and the red dwarf is named Eagle Nebula II y.
In the Eagle Nebula II binary system, Eagle Nebula IIx is constantly ripping material from its companion star, Eagle Nebula IIy, so it is certain that Eagle Nebula IIy, which is emitting huge amounts of stellar material every moment, will definitely emit an immense amount of interstellar radiation, probably as strong as Eagle Nebula I, a newborn star, could be thousands or tens of thousands of times stronger.
Moreover, the accretion disk around the white dwarf would be filled with extremely intense x-ray and gamma-ray radiation. To cope with all this, Hawke intends to build a country-class ship with special materials and equip it with a special shield system. This would ensure that the ship would not be damaged over a distance of 10 million kilometres.
In order to maintain communication with this county-class ship, Hawke also created hundreds of thousands of relay satellites, which were transported through thousands of county-class ships, and after launching a cosmic voyage, Hawke would place a relay satellite every 400 million kilometres above the route, through which Hawke could maintain communication with this county-class ship.
The preparations took Hawke five years. Five years later, a huge fleet of thousands of country ships, with a special country ship at its core, set off from the Eagle Nebula star system.
