"I understand father," Annalise said, stopping her father before he could give her another long speech. She had to stop her mother's tears when she was packing and then she had to listen to her father tell her what not to do when she was at the door ready to leave. "Grandmother was easier to say goodbye to. She told me not to come home soon."
Phillip frowned, wishing his mother would not encourage Annalise to be away from home. He had to be around more when the two were talking since their conversations were about encouraging each other to do something wrong. "I will have a word with her when I return. Go on before I end up stopping you from going. You should set out while there is still sunlight."
