DATE NIGHT 1
Jack sat on a chair in Francisco's restaurant waiting for Emelia to show up, he checked his wristwatch to know the time, she had always not arrived and he was getting antsy and very eager to leave.
What the hell! Can't women show up on time for once, he thought. He checked his wristwatch again. He stomped his right leg on the ground instinctively, he was tensed.
Lily finally arrived at the restaurant, she was looking for Jack; when she finally saw him.
With his blue eyes and his sexy lips to die for, with his wide and broad shoulders, he was every woman's dream and she stared at him while he looked around, waiting for his date.
Wow! He is handsome and looks good enough to eat," She muttered under her breath.
She shook he head slightly to clear her wanton thoughts and went over to meet him. She stretched her hand and introduced herself as Lily Evans.
"I am Lily Evans, your date for tonight."
He shook her outstretched hand because he didn't want her to feel embarrassed but he didn't understand how a grown woman could miss her date.
Jack was getting confused over the introduction. This woman was not the woman he wanted to see, "that is not possible; my date is Emelia and she is a blonde, not a brunette, I believe you are mistaken."
Lily sighed and sat down, "look here! Emelia is my friend and yes she was supposed to be here but she became sick and couldn't come, she didn't want to cancel on you so she asked me to go for her."
Jack looked at her suspiciously, "If she is your friend, show me her picture."
Lily rolled her eyes brought out her phone and showed him Emelia's picture, "isn't she the one?" She pointed at the picture.
"Yes, she is." Jack could finally relax.
"Can we order now?" He asked Lily.
"Yes, I am famished." She replied.
While they were eating, he was observing her. She was beautiful and to be honest, her long wavy hair and the blue gown she wore were giving him the mermaid vibes, her eyes were soft and her lips were just begging him to kiss them, not that he was going to do that without her permission.
They had their dinner, they didn't talk; not because of anything but because they didn't know what to say. After they were done with their food; the waiter cleared the table but left the wine bottle on the table for the couple to sip.
The atmosphere was awkward, Jack couldn't bring himself to tell Lily what he wanted to say, he was struggling to tell her about his proposal.
Lily saw Jack's expression, he had a serious look on his face, she lost the courage to speak to him; she thought he was angry at her. She reached for the wine bottle and poured some wine into her glass, she sipped it slowly, feeling its delicious richness, at least it made her less bored.
They sat in awkward silence, they were both lost in their thoughts.
Should I tell her or should I wait? He thought.
We are on a date for god sake, he is supposed to say something at least, instead of ignoring me, she thought.
They stayed like that until a singer came up to the stage and started singing.
The melodious voice and captivating hand gestures made the atmosphere lively. The previous tension between them dissipated and it was replaced with welcoming silence.
Jack scratched his head slightly, he called Lily's name and said, "I hope this will not sound weird to you."
Lily urged him to go on with her hand.
"Can you be my girlfriend?" He asked.
"Excuse me!" She exclaimed.
